A recent episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune saw Krysten Ritter fail to solve a puzzle even though only two letters were needed to complete the board. When she lost out on the chance, she admitted that she had no idea who Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce — the answer on the board — were. Even more shocking, none of the contestants knew who the brothers were.
Here is what went down and how fans reacted to the moment.
Krysten Ritter Has No Idea Who Travis Kelce Is
Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter competed on Celebrity Wheel of Fortune this week and failed to win one round, even though every letter was in place other than two. The board read “Travis & Jason *el*e.” Ritter stared at the board and had no idea what the answer was. Pat Sajak told her to go ahead and spin if she was still stuck.

Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak harshly criticized his future successor, Ryan Seacrest.
Following Pat’s June 2023 announcement that he would be retiring as the host of Wheel of Fortune after a 40-year run, viewers learned that Ryan would be taking over beginning with Season 42.
As Pat, 77, finishes out final season on Wheel of Fortune, Ryan has been dealing with some personal issues.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Ryan, 49, and his girlfriend of three years, Aubrey Paige Petcosky, 26, broke up last month.
“After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to part ways,” a source told People of their breakup, adding that the former couple plans to “stay in each other’s lives as good friends and support one another’s endeavors.”
Current Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak caught wind of the news, and according to a source, he isn’t surprised, given his opinion of Ryan.

While Pat Sajak is retiring from Wheel of Fortune next month, Drew Carey has no intention of giving up his The Price Is Right hosting duties any time soon, if ever! Carey took over the The Price is Right in 2007 following the retirement of legendary host Bob Barker, who passed away at the age of 99 last August after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. It’s a role the 65-year-old comedian still cherishes and hopes to hold onto forever. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the CBS Fall Schedule Celebration last week, Carey was asked how much longer he thinks he’ll stay on as Price Is Right host. “I’ll say, for the record, I wanna die on stage with a microphone in my hand,” he said, confirming that he doesn’t intend on going anywhere. The saying goes that good things come to those who wait, and that was definitely true for one Wheel of Fortune contestant on Friday night (May 3). On Friday’s episode, Tracy McBride, a mother of one from Greenville, South Carolina, told host Pat Sajak that she’d been trying to get on the show for 28 years. “When’s the first time you tried to get on this show?” Sajak asked. “20 years ago,” McBride replied before correcting herself. “I take that back. 28 years ago! I tried at the age of 20.” “Wow,” Sajak responded. “But you haven’t been trying all those 20 years?” “Periodically, I would update my information, and I’m here through faith and perseverance; I made it,” McBride continued as the studio audience cheered. “We’ve been waiting for ya,” Sajak added. “I told ’em, I said, ‘I’m not leaving until Tracy gets here.'” View this post...

A Wheel of Fortune contestant opted for the wrong letter, and it cost her big time.
Kimberly Wright from Apopka, Florida, appeared on the long-running game show, and it appeared that she had a win in the bag.
Kimberly was going to work on a puzzle in the “Living Thing” category, and everything was going well until she made a mistake that left her short of more than $7,000.
After Kimberly’s spin landed on a $3,500 wheel wedge, she opted for the letter “P,” bringing up multiple Ps worth $7,450 and a puzzle that read, “D U _ _ – _ _ L L E D Platypus.”
When host Pat Sajak asked Kimberly what she wanted to do, she chose to spin yet again.
This time, Kimberly landed on the “Express $1,000” wedge, requiring her to call another letter.
When Kimberly told Pat she would be calling the letter “F,” the live audience immediately groaned, realizing that “F” was not on the board,...

Ryan Seacrest will take over the helm hosting Wheel of Fortune later this year, but fans of the show think someone else would do a better job filling Pat Sajak’s shoes.
As Monsters and Critics previously reported, Pat Sajak announced his retirement earlier this year.
Season 41 will be Pat’s final one as the longtime host of Wheel of Fortune, and this fall, Ryan will take over, beginning with Season 42.
Although Ryan has plenty of experience as a TV host, some critics think another well-known television personality would be better suited for the job.
In a recent Reddit thread, one Wheel of Fortune viewer made a bold proclamation when they posted, “Joel McHale > Ryan Seacrest.”
“I don’t know if he was in the running for Pat’s replacement, but I think Joel McHale (Card Sharks) would have been a great pick…” Redditor u/baracuda68 wrote in the caption.

Pat Sajak has already filmed his last few episodes of Wheel of Fortune, and some fans might feel glad about that; particularly one whom he roasted for some time on a recent airing of the game show. He just would not let go when it came to Jennifer’s hairstyle.
Pat Sajak Can Be Kind To Contestants On The Game Show
Sometimes, when the host becomes too generous, fans will roast the game show host. When a constant missed one letter out of the word “Everglades,” but went on to win a good prize, people felt furious. Some of them decided that he should already retire. Well, it’s not long before Ryan Seacrest takes over and then he will probably get ripped for making mistakes on Wheel of Fortune.

Pat Sajak couldn’t keep his eyes off one contestant on Thursday’s (April 25) Wheel of Fortune because of her elaborate, oversized, attention-stealing 1980s hairstyle. The contestant in question was Jennifer Klase, a married mother of two from New Palestine, Indiana, who was voted for having the “Best Hair” in high school back in the ’80s. Klase held that honor with pride and hasn’t changed her hairstyle since. “So when you like something, you stick with it, is that it?” Sajak asked (per The Sun U.S.), clearly fascinated by Klase’s wild, high-volume blond bouffant. “Stick is a good word because of all the hairspray I use,” Klase jokingly replied. Sajak remained intrigued by how Klase has stuck with the same hair-do despite the changing styles and trends over the past three and half decades. “Have you ever changed your hairstyle over the years?” he asked. The contestant in question was Alex Harrell from Stafford, Virginia, who has served over nine years in the Marine Corps as an Osprey pilot. Early in the episode, Harrell told Sajak that while he’s currently stationed in San Diego, California, his job has taken him all over the world. He also revealed he’s married and has an 18-month-old daughter plus a boy on the way. Harrell was up against Betty Hunter, a “sports mom” from Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Kaley Keller, a pig farmer from Sulphur, Louisiana. But the two ladies barely stood a chance against Harrell, who was on top from right from the beginning of the episode. After the Mystery Round, Harrell stood at $13,648 and also bagged himself a cruise.

Contestant Scott Menke solved the final Wheel of Fortune puzzle so impressively, it seemed like he had been preparing for this for years. Turns out, he had. Unbeknown to the vast majority of viewers, this wasn’t his first TV game show. On Friday’s episode of Wheel of Fortune, Menke entered the competition guns blazing. He solved both toss-ups, won the first round, and even guessed his bonus round correctly, working only with a few letters. Using a method that some would describe as reckless, Menke would often not spin the wheel but guess with whatever had already been revealed. Fellow contestants and audiences were amazed. Even the at-times-difficult-to-impress host Pat Sajak was impressed. “He’s been a good puzzle-solver, that’s for sure,” said Sajak right before the contestant’s final puzzle. After selecting the topic “phrase” and only being shown a fraction of the letters on the board,...

Wheel of Fortune viewers have become more and more perturbed with the show’s Bonus Rounds.
Big wins for Bonus Round contestants have become few and far between as of late, and many Wheel of Fortune viewers blame the show’s producers for poorly worded categories.
Such was the case during a recent episode of Wheel of Fortune in which a contestant named Laura got a chance to win big during her episode’s Bonus Round.
“Place” was Laura’s category, and after choosing her vowels and consonants, and being provided with the usual R, S, T, L, N, and E, she was left with a puzzle that seemed nearly impossible to solve.
After all was said and done in the letter-picking department, Laura’s puzzle read “_ R _ _ E L / _ _ L _ _ _ _.”
“Well, that’s all you’re gonna get,” host Pat Sajak told Laura before her 10-second timer began counting down.

Wheel of Fortune Season 41 is Pat Sajak’s last run on the game show before Ryan Seacrest takes over, but the veteran host already filmed his final appearance months in advance of his retirement. He’s set to do his finale and perhaps oversee the wheel for the last time on Friday, June 7.
Pat Sajak Was With The Game Show Since 1981

Wheel of Fortune viewers were left stunned on Thursday night (April 11) when a contestant kept spinning the wheel despite being only two letters away from an easy puzzle solve. The contestant in question was Randy Rose, a married father of two from Clifton, New Jersey, who told Pat Sajak that his wife signed him up for the show. He explained how he was looking through his emails, saw the message about the Wheel audition, and was about to delete it until his wife stopped him and confessed that she’d put him forward for the show. Rose faced off against Cornita McQuitery, an Air Force cyberspace officer and commander at the 26th Network Operations Squadron from Montgomery, Alabama, and Kaeley George from Colorado Springs, Colorado, who said she was playing for her Nana. Things got off to a strong start for Rose, who tied with McQuitery on $6,000 each after the Mystery Round.

Pat Sajak couldn’t look a contestant in the eye on Wednesday’s (April 10) episode of Wheel of Fortune after a confusing puzzle cost a lovable mother of two $100,000. The contestant in question was Laura Young from York, Maine, who referred to herself as the “crazy walking lady,” revealing she’s walked over 3,000 miles in the last year. Young walked over the competition on Wednesday’s game, amassing an episode-winning $19,350, plus a trip to the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower in Honolulu, Hawaii. This took Young to the Bonus Round, where she selected the “Place” category along with the additional letters “C, P, D, and O.” Unfortunately, not one of those letters was on the board. Young was faced with a tough two-word puzzle that read “_ R _ _ E L / _ _ L _ _ _ _.” “Oh my goodness,” she said, struggling to come up with a response. “There’s gotta be another vowel in there.” After the timer ran out,...

Larry Brown, Jr. was excited to make his Wheel of Fortune debut, but viewers at home were more concerned with something completely unrelated.
Larry, a Howard University alum who also goes by Lbj, noted on Instagram that he wanted to play Wheel of Fortune before the legendary longtime host, Pat Sajak, retires later this year.
Larry’s wish came true, and during Wheel of Fortune’s April 9 episode, Larry went head-to-head against his opponents, Louise Henry and Kalesha Knight.
Although Larry, a semi-pro tap dancer from Bowie, Maryland, brought an infectious energy with him on stage, viewers couldn’t help but focus on another attribute of his.
During Larry’s segment, he must have been hiding that it was stifling hot in the studio because he sweated profusely throughout the episode as he made his national television debut.
Larry glistened from perspiration under the bright studio lights at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City,...
