Lee Broughton returns with a review of Michele Lupo’s fine-looking Spaghetti Western, Arizona Colt. Giuliano Gemma stars as the eponymous anti-hero-cum-bounty killer who goes head-to-head with Fernando Sancho’s villainous Mexican bandit. The show’s collateral damage comes in the shapely form of fan favourite Rosalba Neri while its highly reluctant love interest is played by none other than Corinne Marchand, of Cleo from 5 to 7 fame.

The Oscars is probably my favorite award show that takes place next door to a Claire's. I'm serious. Have you been to the Kodak Theatre? It's basically a big recess in a Hollywood Boulevard mall, one with a Claire's and a Guess and an Express for Men. I remember watching Kate Winslet pick up her Oscar in 2009, the year I moved to L.A., and saying aloud, "So she basically walked past a Claire's to win that." It's tragic and telling. And kind of appropriate, because the Oscars -- much as I literally can't stop thinking about them -- are a mall-brand affair. The nominees are palatable, the format is bland, and the whole ceremony is devoted to mainstream flattery and appeal. But here's the other thing: I shop at the mall. It's at least clean.
And thankfully,...

Life isn't imitating art for Emma Roberts and Dave Franco (yes, that's James Franco's li'l brother). Although the two do lock lips in a music video for Cult, Emma insists there's nothing going on with them in real life. And at Elton's John Oscar party last night in West Hollywood, she was spotted hanging with a different dude she costarred with: "We are good friends after doing a music video together, but we're not dating," she told me, about Dave. "We're dating according to Us Weekly, so we're pseudo-dating!" Emma brought along her manager as her date for the night, but spent some quality time with a certain Gossip guy inside: Chace...

It was the biggest March weekend ever, by a large margin, with the top twelve films earning $186m overall. I looked back ten years and couldn't find a weekend over $150m, so clearly the 3-D razzle dazzle of Alice in Wonderland brought the people to the theater in droves. As for my predictions? Well, I was clearly way off on the top spot... let's break it down! #1 movie predicted correctly: 1 Week In A Row Alice in Wonderland It rocked the March record, it mauled the Spring record, it was the second biggest PG opening ever ($5m behind Shrek the Third). Are the traditional Hollywood dumping grounds going away, or was this film just in the right place at the right time?
I found the film to be very child-friendly, though I was hoping for something more adult and sinister. And 3-D? I'm definitely over it, and I don't feel it...
