- Suchitra Sen was born on April 6, 1931 in Pabna, Bengal Presidency, British India [now in Pabna, Bangladesh]. She was an actress, known for Aandhi (1975), Saptapadi (1961) and Devdas (1955). She was married to Dibanath Sen. She died on January 17, 2014 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India.

- She and Late Uttam Kumar formed one of the most enduring romantic screen pairs during the golden-era of Bengali cinema, starring in many romantic melodramas together.
