The N, the nighttime network aimed at teens, said Wednesday that it's going into production on a series titled Whistler, which marks the network's first original hourlong dramatic thriller. Whistler is set at a seemingly perfect world-class mountain resort where a local snowboarding legend and Olympic gold medalist (David Paetkau) is found dead on the slopes. His death changes the lives of his friends and family, who all happen to have hidden secrets. Whistler will be in production in and around Vancouver through April, with a premiere date set for fall 2006. The 13-part series was created by executive producer/showrunner Kelly Senecal, who also wrote the first two episodes.
