Shakira has avoided more charges related to tax fraud in Spain after an investigating court shelved another probe into the Colombian singer.
In November 2023, Shakira settled a tax fraud case in exchange for a three-year suspended sentence and a fine of 7 million euros one day before her trial was slated to begin. That case — where she was accused of failing to pay 14.5 million euros in income taxes — covered the singer’s income between between 2012 and 2014.

Spain’s probe into pop sensation Shakira’s alleged tax evasion was dropped this week over a lack of evidence, according to multiple media reports on Friday.
Shakira was the subject of an investigation launched in July by prosecutors in Spain (where she says she moved in 2015) who claimed in this case that she had used a series of companies and tax havens to cheat the government out of €6.6 million in owed 2018 taxes. Shakira already paid the Spanish government the full amount in August to settle any debt.
But on Wednesday, investigators told the court that a lack of evidence prompted them to ask that the the criminal case against the pop star be dropped.
The following day, the court agreed that there was not enough evidence presented to “constitute a [criminal] offense against the tax authorities”; Shakira had made no “intent to defraud” the Spanish government, despite certain “irregularities” in her tax return,...

Did Anna Wintour add more tables to this year’s Met Gala? Because the steps of New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art felt especially crowded on Monday evening, May 6, teeming with Hollywood A-listers wearing a plethora of artful looks. And while not everyone leaned into the evening’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” for the most part the stars acquitted themselves well in looks that ranged from quiet elegance to over the top and outrageous.
Even with the nature-centric theme, the night surprisingly was highlighted by some stars in neutrals. Nicole Kidman offered a great backstory for her black and white Balenciaga gown, while Cardi B served up the night’s best drama in a Windowsen black gown that almost spanned the width of the museum steps. Flesh-toned gowns likewise were abundant, including Pamela Anderson in Oscar de la Renta and Lizzo in a custom floral-inspired corset gown by Paris-based designer Victor Weinsanto.

Shonda Rhimes argues that 'Barbie' "didn't need to be" a "feminist manifesto".The 'Bridgerton' producer admits that she enjoyed last year's blockbuster featuring Margot Robbie as the iconic toy doll but was disgruntled with the cultural discourse that put unnecessary expectations on the flick.Speaking to Variety, Shonda explained: "Ok, here's what I'll say. If you're expecting a 'Barbie' movie, then I thought it was great."But I think a lot of people were expecting so much more, and then tried to make it so much more. "There was nothing wrong with the movie; I thought it was totally delightful. But the weight people put on a movie about Barbie was very interesting to me."I've heard the song 'I'm Just Ken' in my house every single day because one of my kids sings it all the time. In the music video for her piano-driven interlude "Bambi," Bodine poses in the middle of a dense forest, artistically garbed in assorted animal bones as she croons over the black and white footage with an ear-catching voice that straddles mezzo and alto ranges. The visual doubled as an announcement video for her sophomore EP, "Quemo Lento," which dropped last month. Still, if anyone got the impression the project would hinge on somber instrumentals, her other tracks quickly proved them wrong. The follow-up singles "No Me Quiere Más Na'" and "Nalgaje" present a saucier and more liberated version of Bodine. But who is the real Bodine? Is it the contemplative, artsy soul hinted at in the first track, or the one who takes pride in homaging vedette Iris Chacón and singing catchy odes to booties? The answer is unsurprising to those who know her - she's both.

Gwen Stefani has coached many talented competitors on the reality competition series The Voice. But a point was made that The Voice hasn’t really launched the careers of its top winners like other similar reality shows. Stefani offered her own theory as to why that was the case.
Why Gwen Stefani felt ‘The Voice’ rarely produced stars Gwen Stefani | Casey Durkin/Getty Images
Like American Idol, The Voice gave aspiring singers a chance at superstardom. But there were a few key differences between American Idol and The Voice other than their judging practices. American Idol contestants and winners had a history of achieving great success in the music industry, from Kelly Clarkson to Jennifer Hudson.
But winners on The Voice haven’t really reached the same heights that their American Idol counterparts have. This pattern was noticed, not only by fans of the series, but by industry professionals as well.

Award-winning Colombian director-producer Simon Brand and Miami-based media executive producer Daniel Eilemberg have joined forces with the founders of Emmy-winning Imaginer Films, Julio César and Laura Franco, to launch Clover Studios, a new production services company in Colombia.
The new enterprise is in response to Colombia’s phenomenal growth as a major production center, driven by its competitive production incentives and flourishing creative community.
Led by Netflix’s ambitious series adaptation of Nobel Laureate Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s literary masterpiece “100 Years of Solitude,” which has entailed a full-scale recreation of the mythical village of Macondo and 20,000 extras, a number of high-profile projects have been lured to the country.
Just last year, upcoming sequel “Paddington in Peru” was mostly shot in Colombia instead of the country in its title. The music festival Coachella hit this weekend with a wide array of genre artists. Notably, for the older millennial music fans, 90s bands such as Blur and No Doubt would take the stage. The festival would also feature a bevy of guest appearances that include such acts as Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, Shakira, Paris Hilton and Kesha. Kesha would set social media and news outlets ablaze as she changed the lyrics to her hit song “Tik Tok” to say “fuck P. Diddy” during her performance with Reneé Rapp.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that during J Balvin’s set, Will Smith arrived on stage in his black suit and shades, which was “the last suit you’d ever wear” in Smith’s 1997 blockbuster film, Men in Black. Coachella 2024 was the year of the A-list guests. Across all three days, top stars made appearances either onstage or in the crowd to support their musician besties. Olivia Rodrigo joined No Doubt, Will Smith pulled up for J Balvin, Justin Bieber sang with Tems, Billie Eilish threw a last-minute party at the DoLab stage, and Shakira even announced a world tour during Bizarrap’s set.
The talk among some festivalgoers ahead of Coachella suggested that this year’s lineup might underwhelm, but the number of stars joining their friends onstage surely helped with that.

Will Smith was a surprise guest at Coachella on Sunday night.
The rapper-actor hit the stage alongside J Balvin to perform his hit song “Men in Black,” from his 1997 box office blockbuster film of the same name.
Smith appeared in Ray-Ban Balorama sunglasses and a black Dolce & Gabbana suit, the standard uniform of his character in the film, which starred Smith and Tommy Lee Jones as investigators in a secret organization who monitor and police extraterrestrials.
Smith and Balvin rapped the song together, while backup dancers dressed as aliens and a giant alien head prop added to the effect. At the end of the performance, Balvin was dragged off by two people in black suits.
Then, Smith was seen holding up the device used in the movie to erase the memories of people who witness alien activities, in addition to wiping out the memories of agents ready to retire.

Reneé Rapp debuted at Coachella on Sunday afternoon and was joined by Kesha on the stage.
Kesha performed her song “Tik Tok” and made a slight change to the lyrics.
Instead of singing, “Wake up in the morning feelin’ like P. Diddy,” Kesha and Rapp sang, “Wake up in the morning like F*** P. Diddy.”
The change in the lyric comes as Sean Combs faces sexual assault allegations and is accused of sex trafficking.
Rapp took the stage at the Outdoor Theatre at the Music and Arts festival, where she had kind words to say about Kesha.
“Ladies and gentlemen, this, I think, is the hottest person on the earth. Everybody put your fucking hands together for Kesha,” Rapp said, introducing her colleague.

Coachella 2024 kicked off Friday, and festival season is officially upon us once again.
With over 100,000 festival goers in the desert for this weekend’s debut, Day One was a stacked opening, with Lana Del Rey bringing out Billie Eilish for a duet, Shakira shocking the crowd and announcing a world tour during Bizarrap’s set, and Peso Pluma putting corridos on the world stage.
If Euphoria core influenced Coachella’s fashion in years past, 2024 has now gone cosmic cowboy as the silver boots and cowboy hats took over the festival grounds.

Los Angeles, April 5 (Ians) Grammy winner Shakira lost an entire album when her suitcase disappeared from an airport in Bogota and had to start from scratch.
The pop star had written enough lyrics for her fourth album when she was 21-year-old in the 1990s which she kept in her suitcase.
“When I was like, 21, I had written a whole body of work. And it got lost at an airport in Bogota. I had all my lyrics in my dad’s briefcase because I used to travel with my parents back in the day. And I think that it just disappeared at the airport,” she said on ‘The Hot Ones’ YouTube series.
“So that’s why I named our album ‘Where are the Thieves?’ After that story, I had to reconstruct all of the lyrics in my head. When I was able to, like after a great deal of effort.”

Jennifer Lopez has been busy. In case you missed it, the Puerto Rican singer, dancer, and actor released not one but three complementary projects to kick off the year. There's her "This Is Me . . . Now" album; a video companion/musical to said album, "This Is Me . . . Now: A Love Story"; and a documentary that dives into said love story, "The Greatest Love Story Never Told." It was an ambitious undertaking, no doubt. And one that has her being dragged across TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter).
Part of the controversy lies in how Lopez represents herself and her native borough of the Bronx. In one scene from the documentary, Lopez tussles her curly hair while looking in the mirror and says, "It reminds me, like, when I was 16 in the Bronx, running up and down the block.
