In response to a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by an Indian writer and producer, Arrmann Shharma over the show ‘Get Out Alive With Bear Grylls,’ the Delhi High Court issued summons to the British adventurer among others.
Warner Brothers Discovery, National Geography, and over-the-top (Ott) service Hotstar were also sent summons by Justice Amit Bansal.
Meanwhile, the court referred the parties to mediation after a request by Grylls’ counsel.
The matter has been listed before the Delhi High Court Mediation Centre for January 17, 2023 and before the court on February 22.
Shharma moved the High Court alleging that Grylls’ show violated his original copyright creation, “Aakhri Dum Takk” (Till the Last Breath).
Shharma, who is a scriptwriter and television/film producer, conceptualised and scripted the reality show in 2009, whereas Grylls’ show started in 2013.
Shharma had pitched it to Discovery, but the channel said that the script did not meet its then programming and inventory needs.

Updated: I’ve learned that A24 will team on the Ronnie Spector film with New Regency. The two partnered previously on the Robert Eggers-directed The Lighthouse, and they are part of the Malcolm & Marie film.
Exclusive: A24 is putting together a film package that will have Emmy-winning Euphoria star Zendaya attached to play singer Ronnie Spector in a film about her life. Deals have just closed for Spector’s life rights and for Be My Baby, the memoir she wrote with Vince Waldron. I’m hearing that early conversations are happening with Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Jackie Sibblies Drury to write the script.
The film will be produced by Marc Platt, Adam Siegel, Mark Itkin, Tom Shelly and Zendaya. Jonathan Greenfield and Spector will be the exec producers.
Much the way that Aretha Franklin personally endorsed Jennifer Hudson to play her in the upcoming MGM biopic Respect, Spector chose...

The new fall season is closer than you think, and NBC has released their full schedule. Apart from reality favorites The Biggest Loser and The Voice, they are mixing things up quite a bit.
Take a look at a complete preview of the shows coming your way, and mark your calendars. It looks good for NBC this year, and while I’m not sure all of these look like winners, I think you’ll find at least a couple that you’re really going to like.

For decades, ex-government agent Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) has been one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives. Brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe, Red was known by many as “The Concierge of Crime.”

Love in the Wild sounds like the perfect knewreality show to addicts like us — Survivor meets the Bachelor. Who could askfor anything more? At a recent press event executive producer Tom Shelly and theChairman of Endemol North America, David Goldberg, talked about how the seriescame to be and why it might just have a greater success rate than its competitors.
Shelly described the origins of the concept, “We went afterreal professional people, who were unlucky in love and were really looking forrelationships. And we liked the idea of putting them under pressure that'sabove and beyond real life but putting them through, not a speed dating, but a speedlife course in dating and… putting them in pressure when they are really lookingfor love. NBC has become the second broadcast network to announce their plans for the summer of 2011. On the Peacock's agenda are new seasons of America's Got Talent and The Marriage Ref, as well as new reality shows The Voice, It's Worth That? (think The Price is Right meets Pawn Stars), Still Standing (a trivia show), and Love in the Wild (basically The Bachelor meets Survivor). Additionally, NBC will continue to air new episodes of newly revamped Law & Order: La, along with the final seasons of Friday Night Lights and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
There's no mention of Love Bites, Friends with Benefits, or The Paul Reiser Show, so we can safely say that none of the three will be seeing the light of day anytime soon. You can check the press release below for dates and times of the shows that NBC will be airing this summer.

NBC is planning to air a series next summer that combines Survivor and The Bachelor spin-off Bachelor Pad, but also sounds a little bit like I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!. The show, Love in the Wild, is produced by former Survivor executive producer Tom Shelly, who has moved on to do such shows as Dating in the Dark. On Love in the Wild, "[10] men and 10 women looking for love will...

It was reported sometime ago that there would be a brand new reality show which is roughly like a crossover between "The Bachelor" and "Survivor". NBC worked it up with Endemol to make it happen and they have just announced the details.
"Love in the Wild" basically puts together singles in the jungle to mate. Twenty men and women will pair up each week in the middle of the jungle and each couple will be placed in remote area. Together they are only given a map and must rely on each other to pass the challenges which could either be physical or emotional.
The winning couple will then be treated to a romantic indulgence at romantic places. At the end of the day, they have the choice to continue with the partner or to switch for the next challenge. There will be an elimination in each of the episode and...

Fans of night-vision dating, get ready for happiness.
ABC has renewed Endemol's summer reality show "Dating in the Dark."
The series, where couples date in total darkness, pulled a respectable number airing after "The Bachelorette" on Monday nights last summer.
ABC has picked up a six-episode second season of the show for this summer. No word yet on whether "Conveyor Belt of Love" is getting a series pickup or whether "Shark Tank" will get a second season.
"Dating in the Dark" is produced by Endemol USA along with Talpa Content and executive-produced by Tom Shelly.

Reality TV shows live or die based on whether you believe what's going is sort of real. Does Khloe Kardashian really love Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom? Are the people on "The Amazing Race" really lost? How about a show that doesn't give a damn if you think it's real or not? Welcome to TV's newest dating show, ABC's "Conveyor Belt of Love" -- which features five women picking potential suitors from a group of men being rolled out on a stage like cattle at an auction.

Update: Dear lord, there's a trailer. See below.
Yes, really. ABC is airing a show called "Conveyor Belt of Love" on Jan. 4, right after the premiere of "The Bachelor."
And if you're wondering what a show called "Conveyor Belt of Love" would entail, well, the title succinctly and depressingly pretty well says it all. From the network's press release: "One by one ... 30 men are presented on the 'Conveyor Belt of Love' to ... five women and given 60 seconds to impress them. If a woman is interested in someone, that man will step aside and wait as the rest of the men go by."
The network also promises that the show, a one-off thing ABC is throwing up against Fox's broadcast of the Fiesta Bowl, is "hilarious and fast-paced" and will help the five women find "a true connection." Because machinery-assisted speed-dating is such a tried and true method of matchmaking.

ABC has ordered a new reality show from Endemol that serves up dates on a conveyor belt.
In "Conveyor Belt of Love," 30 men are rolled out before a panel of five women and given one minute to make a positive impression.
The show has been ordered as a special that will follow the season premiere of "The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love" on Jan. 4, but more episodes may be ordered depending on the special's performance.
Here's how the format works:
"If a woman is interested in someone, that man will step aside and wait as the rest of the men go by. But if another man comes by on the belt that seems better than that woman's first choice, she can swap out the man waiting off of the belt as many times as she wants until the last man has passed by. If two or more of the...
