Filming is currently underway in the Isle of Man on new Cbbc drama The Knot, for which a casting call was placed on Screenterrier back in April.
Two young newcomers, Joseph Galluci playing 11 year old Rocket and Helen Smith playing 14 year old Alli, join Debra Stephenson, Mark Moraghan and Kelle Bryan in the 3-part series being produced by Lime Pictures.
Set in the heart of the Isle of Man and surrounded by the Irish sea, The Knot is a special place, where raw and rugged nature plays host to a stream of kids with complex lives, all fostered by Peter (Anthony Flanagan) and Sarah Boulsworth (Debra Stephenson) and their kids, Rocket and Alli.
Much to the distrust of many of the locals, the Boulsworths are a foster family offering emergency and short-term care, looking after children on a temporary basis until permanent arrangements can be made – and Rocket and his...

Los Angeles — Emi Group Ltd., the iconic British music company that is home to The Beatles, Coldplay and Katy Perry, is being split and sold for $4.1 billion.
The deals will open Emi's buyers, Universal Music and Sony/Atv, to regulatory scrutiny as they increase their dominance of the music industry.
Universal Music Group said Friday that it will pay 1.2 billion pounds ($1.9 billion) for the recording division, joining Universal artists including Lady Gaga and Eminem with Emi superstars such as David Guetta and Lady Antebellum.
A consortium led by Sony/Atv announced a separate deal Friday to pay $2.2 billion for Emi's publishing division. That business is in charge of songwriting copyrights for such artists as Rihanna and Norah Jones.
Sony/Atv, a joint venture between Sony Corp. and the Michael Jackson estate, said it is a 38 percent partner in the consortium. Other parties include Mubadala Development Co., Jynwel Capital Ltd., the Blackstone Group and David Geffen.

He's a celebrity...and she wants him out of here! On the business end of a restraining order, that Baldwin brother known as Daniel is smacking down allegations that he harassed and threatened a Malibu woman and her family after she canned his niece as their nanny. Helen Smith says that after she relieved 28-year-old Jennifer Keurhler of duty last month, the 48-year-old actor phoned her husband, Greg, and left a "hostile message," per court papers obtained by RadarOnline. Baldwin, most recently seen getting voted out of the jungle on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, allegedly sent two text messages, prompting Smith to go to court. "I know that Daniel Baldwin had had numerous issues...

A Us woman has requested a restraining order against Daniel Baldwin. Helen Smith claims she started receiving threatening phone calls and text messages from the actor after she fired his niece Jennifer Keurhler, who had been working as the Smith family's nanny. Smith told a Los Angeles Country Superior Court judge: "I know that Daniel Baldwin had had numerous issues with drugs and was concerned for the safety of my children and family." The judge has yet to rule on the restraining order. Daniel has since issued a statement denying the harassment claims. He claims he had only contacted the Smith family because they failed to pay Keurhler money they owed her. It read: "I am left with no...

Actor Daniel Baldwin has fired back at a woman seeking a restraining order against him.
Helen Smith claims the Mulholland Falls star left her angry phone and text messages after she fired his goddaughter, Jennifer Keuchler, as her nanny, and she fears he'll go further to make his point.
Smith claims she was left terrified by the messages and she has filed papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court seeking a temporary restraining order against the actor.
But Baldwin states Keuchler "was fired from her nanny position and not compensated for her pre-negotiated time by Greg and Helen Smith".
He states, "I reached out to Greg on his cell phone last week and explained that Jennifer had given up her apartment in San Francisco to come to Malibu for the summer and take care of his two small children. He assured me that he was fully aware of his financial obligation to Jen and would pay her by the end of the week.
"The Smith's did not pay Jen the money that was promised her. They have chosen to stiff her for over $2,500. I am sad that they have gone on the offensive with such erroneous accusations against my character. Yes I called Greg and left a message stating the facts. I am Very concerned for the welfare of their children if Greg is travelling and they are to be left without additional supervision.
"It is my intention to let the courts settle any differences between us and I will pray for them all, especially those poor kids."...

Update: French anti-piracy law rejected
London -- The French National Assembly has voted to adopt the central clause in the anti-piracy Creation and Internet Law, which would allow a state body to cut off copyright infringers' broadband access after two warnings were issued.
The three-strikes scheme proposed by the French government to tackle P2P file-sharing has met with opposition from some politicians and consumer groups, but the vote has been welcomed by parts of the international music business.
"The French government has taken a decisive step to protect artists and creators, setting an example to the rest of the world," said Ifpi chairman and chief executive John Kennedy in a statement. "The great thing about this French initiative is that it will result in very sensible and achievable actions by ISPs to reduce piracy in a way that is overwhelmingly preventative and not punitive."
