While it's now several years late for Max Spielberg to crank out Jaws 19 (as promised by Back To The Future Part II's 2015), one of his siblings is keeping the Spielberg directorial flag flying, as Destry Allyn Spielberg is on to make her feature directorial debut with horror movie Please Don't Feed The Children, which will star Michelle Dockery.
Written by Paul Bertino, the psychological thriller is set after a viral outbreak has ravaged the country’s adult population. A group of orphans heads south in search of a new life, only to find themselves at the mercy of a deranged woman harboring a dangerous secret.
“I am so grateful to have the opportunity to bring this story to the screen with such a collaborative and inspirational team. This picture is so much more than just a horror film. It’s a dream come true to work with a talent such as Michelle Dockery.

Earth’s future has always proved a playground of possibility for scriptwriters and directors. Artists are rarely content to make do within the confines of what is merely possible. Setting a movie years in the future is a way of letting their minds off the leash, while usually offering an allegorical reflection of the times in which we currently live. As one fictional time-travel expert once said, “The future is not set. There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.”
Snow White & The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders is the latest in a long line of visual soothsayers who has made his own fate in the form of Ghost In The Shell, which offers us a metropolitan futureworld full of gymnastic augmented cybernetic agents, colossal 3D advertisements and the increasingly regular sight of Juliette Binoche in a lab-coat.

Happy “Back to the Future” Day everyone! Much like the future predicted by the Jetsons, we’re still waiting for the technology we were promised. But while reasonably priced hoverboards are a distant dream and Max Spielberg has yet to take over his father’s legacy to revive the “Jaws” franchise, those are the least of the sins of “Back to the Future 2.”...

In Back to the Future Part II, while Marty McFly surveys the strange landscape of Hill Valley in 2015, he comes across a marquee poster advertising Jaws 19 in 3D. The advertisement produces a giant hologram shark from the “Max Spielberg” film that threatens to consume Marty, already overwhelmed by the kinetic stimuli of public space 30 years removed from 1985. When it was made, this moment was tailored as a not-so-subtle jab at the Jaws franchise which, by the mid-1980s, seemed to show no signs of stopping despite diminishing returns and an association with the now-indomitable Spielberg that was in-name-only. Yet Back to the Future Part II is a strange place to level a joke at a Hollywood attempting to manufacture things into perpetuity. While not an entirely original idea, it was relatively novel in the late 1980s for a Hollywood franchise to produce back-to-back sequels, organized in a serial format, as the series’ second and third part did...

In "Back to the Future II," Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) arrives on Oct. 21, 2015, and the future looks like this: people riding hoverboards, driving flying cars, and drinking Pepsi Perfect. And going to see "Jaws 19" - directed by Max Spielberg, real-life son of Steven Spielberg - at the Holomax Theater.
Universal has been hyping the 30th anniversary of the classic movie with some cool promotions - including Pepsi Perfect becoming an actual thing - but this one might be the best: a trailer for "Jaws 19."
The fake trailer teases the movie by mentioning the previous sequels - like when Jaws started a family, battled a Russian shark named Ivan Sharkovsky, and learned about love in "Jaws 17: Fifty Scales of Grey." Too funny!
In "Back to the Future II," a poster for"Jaws 19" boasted that, "This time, it's really really personal." Unfortunately, critics didn't love it and future USA Today...

To promote the upcoming 30th anniversary home entertainment release of the Back To The Future trilogy, Universal is pulling out all the stops, launching a short film featuring Christopher Lloyd (you can see a teaser for that here) and now a funny trailer for Jaws 19. It’s the film, you’ll likely know, that is playing in “Holomax 3D” in Hill Valley on October 21, 2015 when Marty and Doc arrive in the future during the second film. And as opposed to just mocking up a quick bit of shark footage, the team behind the promo have bitten a page from the book of the 22 Jump Street filmmakers, running through the complete list of fictional Jaws sequels from Jaws 5 until 19. That last film directed, of course, by Max Spielberg. It’s a nice riff on franchise fever, reboots and tie-ins, even as we worry that it heralds a possible future for the...

Back to The Future will celebrate its 30th anniversary on October 21, and Universal Studios is doing everything in their power to remind us of the big event. Yes folks, October 21, 2015 is the day that Marty and Doc go to in the future, as seen in Back to the Future Part II and in order to promote the upcoming BluRay release, Universal has released the official teaser trailer for Jaws 19.
Fans of the series should recognize the reference. When Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) arrives in the future (in Robert Zemeckis’ 1989 sequel Back to the Future Part II), one of the first things he notices is an aggressive marketing display for Jaws 19, a film directed by Max Spielberg that is screening at the local Holomax theater.

Great Scott! In 1985 Director Robert Zemeckis, Executive Producer Steven Spielberg and Producer/Screenwriter Bob Gale embarked on a three-part journey through time that broke box office records worldwide and catapulted Back to the Future into one of the most beloved trilogies in motion picture history.
In 1989, the filmmakers gave us a glimpse of the future in Back To The Future Part II as Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled to 2015…or, if our calculations are correct, October 21, 2015, to be exact. “The Future” has finally arrived.
Now, Universal Pictures Home Entertainment celebrates this once-in-a-lifetime date, as well as the 30th Anniversary of the groundbreaking first film, with three new releases debuting on October 20, 2015.
In the clip above, at the 1:03 mark, Marty is about to be consumed by a holographic shark at the Holomax theater.
The marquee reads, “This time, it’s really, really personal” – directed by Max Spielberg.

2015 is a big year for “Back to the Future.” The beloved film celebrates 30 years (a “nice round number”) since its release, and October 21, 2015 marks the date that Doc and Marty travel to in “Back to the Future Part II.” Great Scott, this is heavy! Join us here as we count down to the festivities on this red letter date in the history of movies. We’re still waiting for Holomax theaters, but, thankfully, we don’t have to wait any longer for “Jaws 19.” Set to hit theaters this month (at least in Hill Valley), the 18th sequel for Steven Spielberg’s 1975 thriller finally has a trailer. Check out the trailer featuring John Williams’ iconic score that Universal released today — which also gets you up to speed on “Jaws 5” through “Jaws 18.” Don’t get too hyped up for “Jaws 19,” though. Our peek at the October 22, 2015 issue of USA Today, Hill Valley...

First it was Pepsi Perfect, now Jaws 19 is coming this October 21st. Well.....not really, but we have a trailer for the Max Spielberg directed sequel that ties into the festivities to celebrate the date Marty McFly landed in the future in Back to the Future Part 2. In fact, its directly advertising the shiny new Blu-Ray collection of the entire trilogy. Unfortunately, it’s not available in Holomax. Recapping the entire (fictional) Jaws saga in hilarious detail, as well as taking potshots at sequel trends from the last few decades, you can watch the trailer below.

This time, it's really, really personal. In a few weeks it'll be the actual date that Marty McFly reached when he traveled far into the future in Back to the Future II. This one is fact-checked (unlike the bogus social media meme) and the official date of arrival is October 21st, 2015. Everyone is scrambling to actual make the items featured in that future, including the hoverboard. Pepsi has just announced they're making and actually selling "Pepsi Perfect", which was seen in the movie. And to join in on the fun, Universal made a trailer for Max Spielberg's Jaws 19, one of the many sequels playing in the future. Both companies made short joke trailers, with a bookend reminder of the new Blu-ray release also hitting on October 21st. Enjoy! Here's the fun trailer for Max Spielberg's Jaws 19, originally teased in Bttf II, now on YouTube today: And here's the...

Futurology, the study of predicting the future, isn’t easy. Yet, science fiction films tend to be pretty decent at it. Join us as we discuss which aspects of Back to the Future Part II have come true and which ones have not.
It’s 2015. Congratulations! You’ve made it to the future. At least, the future as defined in 1989’s Back to the Future Part II. In this science fiction film, Marty McFly travels from 1985 to 2015 in order to help save his future son. In order to make the future setting more fascinating and exciting, the filmmakers made many predictions as far as what the state of society and technology would be like 26 years in the future. We all know that it’s just a movie, but in order for audiences to buy into the future world that Marty McFly travels to, the filmmakers had to make their future world seem possible.

Robert Zemeckis provided a more than worthy follow-up to his 1985 classic. Simon looks back at Back To The Future II...
If you're looking for an utterly independent analysis of Robert Zemeckis' Back To The Future Part II, then it'd be fair to say you're probably in the wrong place. It would be remiss of me from the outset to not acknowledge that, in my youth, I absolutely adored Back To The Future Part II. I wore out two VHS copies of the movie I had (one of them ex-rental, to be fair), and Alan Silvestri's superb score has been resident in my head pretty much ever since (one I seem to have bought four times, across four different formats).
It's only over time that I've come to appreciate the film in any kind of perspective, and the catalyst for that was watching the three films back-to-back in the...

Nike didn't wait until 2015 to make their "Back to the Future Part II"-inspired Nike Mags available, instead opting to put their kicks on the eBay auction block last week. That's all well and good, and with any luck the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research will rake in a pile of helpful cash because of them.
The real-world Mags don't do everything that they were designed to do in the 1989 film, however, and Robert Zemeckis' one-of-a-kind trilogy introduced many other marvels of engineering and design that we would gladly drive our DeLoreans down to the mall to pick up. Here are five such technologies that are as of now still unavailable.
Power Laces
Anyone with chronically crunched heels on their sneakers knows the one key feature separating Nike's new shoes from the shoes that Marty McFly actually put on in "Back to the Future Part II"--power laces.

In further Spielberg news, Oscar-winning director Steven Spielberg's eldest son is following in his father's footsteps and pursuing a career behind the camera. Seventeen-year-old Max Spielberg has recently completed work on his first movie, a short thriller called Snap Shot, which he wrote, produced, directed, shot and edited during a filmmaking workshop run by the New York Film Academy. The aspiring filmmaker attended the four-week workshop, held in Los Angeles, during the latter part of the summer. The film is concerns a tourist couple drawn into a string of murders after their instant camera accidentally gets mixed up with the camera of a serial killer. The couple realize their predicament when the photos they developed turn out to be shots of grisly murder scenes. However, there are no immediate plans for the film to receive a public exhibition. A spokesperson says, "It will be for his own personal use when he pursues other avenues in the industry." Max, Spielberg's son by a former marriage with actress Amy Irving, is the eldest of six children either born to or adopted by the acclaimed filmmaker, who is currently married to actress Kate Capshaw. Spielberg also has an older stepdaughter with Capshaw.
