After being saved from a crash-landing by Netflix just two years ago, “Manifest” has just about reached its final destination. The NBC supernatural drama-turned Netflix original will premiere the back half of its fourth and final season on June 2, the streamer announced Friday. The news was accompanied by a teaser for the final episodes.
Created by Jeff Rake, “Manifest” debuted on NBC in September 2018. The show was a ratings success in its first season, attracting 10.3 million viewers for its pilot episode. The show’s numbers steadily declined across its following two seasons, and NBC pulled the plug on the drama in June 2021.
Although that cancellation would typically be the end of the series’ flight plan, “Manifest” unexpectedly found a new set of wings on Netflix. The streaming giant added all three “Manifest” seasons the same month NBC grounded the drama; the show quickly found an entirely new audience on the streamer,...

It’s hard to believe that Paul Rudd originally won over audiences with his on-screen personas more than 30 years ago. The hero of Marvel’s Ant-Man trilogy received his first major break with Clueless in 1995, but when he teamed up with regular collaborator Judd Apatow, he found his comedic voice. The two collaborated on several comedic films in the 2000s, including The 40-Year-Old Virgin, This is 40, and Knocked Up.
While filming Knocked Up, Rudd found some inspiration from his own life. Let’s take a look at the actor and how he got some real-life marriage counseling from his movie.
‘Knocked Up’ in real life
Rudd was in the movie Knocked Up, which stars Katherine Heigl. Heigl has publicly stated that she thought the movie was sexist. However, the film is meant to be a comedy. Here is a recap of the film.

Manifest star Josh Dallas knows full well how lucky the show is to have a second bite of the apple, and he’s truly made the most of it. Much like the series’ central mystery involving Montego Air Flight 828 which disappeared and reappeared five years later, the former NBC supernatural drama briefly vanished last summer, only to return as a Netflix series a couple months later. Creator Jeff Rake’s remaining three-season plan evolved into a 20-episode season four that will be split into two parts, with part one arriving Nov. 4 on Netflix.
For Dallas, he credits the show’s passionate fans, affectionately dubbed “The Manifesters,” for the series’ rebirth, as they, combined with new viewers, rallied to keep the show’s existing three seasons atop the Netflix charts for a prolonged period.

Michaela (Melissa Roxburg) and Ben Stone (Josh Dallas), Jared Vasquez (J.R. Ramirez) and more are back in action and chasing down any and all leads to figure out how to beat their expiration date in the trailer for “Manifest” Season 4, which Netflix dropped Saturday. (You can watch it above)
The passengers of Montego Air Flight 828, who went missing five and a half years ago, only to return like no time had passed, have an expiration date of June 2, 2024.
“I had a calling, it was awful,” Ben says to his sister Michaela at the beginning of the trailer. “Everything was swallowed by ash.”
The trailer follows Ben as he swipes his finger across a dusty (or ashy) desktop, before cutting to a shot of a volcano looking ready to erupt.

The fourth and final season of "Manifest" is flying your way on Netflix, and now the first official teaser for it is here. Appropriately enough, "Manifest" season 4 will premiere on November 4. It's a date we hear often in the teaser and one that should be familiar to anyone who has watched the show, which involves a commercial flight that hits turbulence in the air, only to land and be told that five and half years have passed since it took off and went missing.
"Manifest" started out as a network drama on NBC, where it lasted for three seasons from 2018 to 2021. The show built up a dedicated fan base around it, but as its ratings slipped from over 12 million viewers on average per season to about 5 million, the network unceremoniously canceled it. The Stones are always at the center of the mystery of Manifest, and such is the case in the new sneak peek Netflix released as part of its Geeked Week for the upcoming fourth and final season. Josh Dallas (who plays Ben Stone) introduced the clip for the final episodes, which will be released in two parts (10 each). In the sneak peek, Michaela Stone (Melissa Roxburgh) sneaks her way onto the docks — donning an NYPD hat and worker’s vest — seemingly following a Calling (the visions the passengers of 828 have) given her “cherry blossoms, there you are.” Those cherry blossoms aren’t just on the side of a ship but also on a shipping container. But there’s more than just boxes inside the container, she discovers as she uses the flashlight on her phone to look around. In fact, someone, groaning, reaches out and grabs her, and on that...

The passengers of Flight 828 are boarding once again. Netflix has released a first look clip for Season 4 of supernatural drama series “Manifest.”
The clip was launched as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week event, and was introduced by Josh Dallas, who plays Ben Stone in the series. The clip features series lead Michaela Stone (Melissa Roxburgh), an NYPD detective, investigating a construction site. While looking through the site, she discovers a mysterious figure with the words “Stone 828” cut into his arm.
Created by Jeff Rake, “Manifest” revolves around Michaela and Ben, two siblings who are passengers on a commercial flight that encounters a brief period of turbulence. Once they land, they discover that five and a half years have passed for the rest of the world, during which they were presumed dead. The show follows Michaela, Ben and other survivors as they readjust to a new world, and develop bizarre...

Buckle up, Manifesters. Season four of Manifest is in the works and, as always, the cast is promising it will be a wild ride. Actor Josh Dallas (Ben Stone) revealed in November that filming was underway for the fourth and final season of the dystopian plane drama, which NBC canceled after three seasons last year but Netflix picked up for one final chapter. Creator Jeff Rake said in a statement at the time, "What started years ago as a flight of fancy deep in my imagination has evolved into the jet engine journey of a lifetime." Manifest follows the lives of the unlucky passengers of flight 828, which disappeared mid-flight before reappearing five years later. For...

Update (9/10/2021): Robert Vance, ally to the 828ers, is coming back. Daryl Edwards has been upped to series regular for Manifest‘s final season on Netflix, Deadline reports. Edwards recurred since the series premiere, in which Vance was the one to tell the 828ers just what happened when their plane landed. He even “died” in the first season before the others slowly learned he was actually alive. In the Season 3 finale, Vance rushed home because his son was being held hostage by anti-Stone family 828ers. He and Jared (J.R. Ramirez) saved him. Original story (9/9/2021): Almost everyone is set to return for the fourth and final season of Manifest following Netflix saving it on 8/28 day. Josh Dallas (Ben Stone), Melissa Roxburgh (Michaela Stone), and J.R. Ramirez (Jared Vasquez) signed on at the time of the save. Exclusive: We’ll be seeing more of fan favorite Vance in the upcoming fourth and final season of Manifest on Netflix. Daryl Edwards, who has recurred as Nsa Director Robert Vance (aka “Vance”) since the pilot episode, has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming season of the missing plane drama.
It was Vance who, in the pilot, announced to passengers of Flight 828 that they’ve “been missing and presumed dead for 5 1/2 years.” Since then, he has become an ally to the passengers, especially Ben Stone, played by Josh Dallas. The role was only meant to be short-term, but due to praise for Edwards’ performance, the role was expanded and he was brought back in the second season after being killed off in Season 1.

Manifest might be saved at Netflix, but it seems the entire cast is still not locked in for the final season.
Now, Jeff Rake, the series creator, is opening up about negotiations with the cast.
"We haven't finished those conversations yet," he revealed to Entertainment Weekly.
"I am hopeful that everybody is back. As you and I are talking right now, negotiations continue.
"I'm cautiously optimistic that all of our favorite characters will be returning to the story."
It was previously reported by Deadline that only Melissa Roxburgh's Michaela Stone and Josh Dallas's Ben Stone had closed deals to return.
The good news is that negotiations are still underway, but when cast options expire, it isn't easy to get everyone back together.
Hopefully, for the fans, all the cast will return in some capacity, but the time of deals closing could hinder a production date this year.

It's been less than two weeks since Manifest was canceled after three seasons at NBC, but those associated with the series are still holding out hope for a revival.
When the cancellation was announced on June 15, Warner Bros. TV tried to find a new home for the series, with Netflix emerging as a likely home.
As the first two seasons joined the streaming service, it flew to the top of the charts as negotiations got underway.
Unfortunately, a deal could not be reached, and the cast and crew officially said goodbye to the series as Warner Bros. confirmed it was no longer looking for a home.
Now, Manifest creator Jeff Rake is opening up about closure, especially because the series was only halfway through a six-season plan at the time of its demise.
“Your support is awe-inspiring,” he tweeted to fans on Sunday.
“We’re trying to find a way to conclude the series.

When Netflix decided it will not pick up the recently cancelled NBC drama Manifest, star Josh Dallas sent out a message to the “Manifesters,” the show’s passionate fan base.

It truly is a difficult time for fans of NBC's Manifest.
The network pulled the plug on the high-concept drama after three seasons last week, but it seemed like the show had a chance to be picked up at Netflix.
It quickly flew to the top of the streamer's daily chart when its first two seasons were made available for streaming.
As a result, Netflix entered preliminary negotiations to pick up the series, assessing whether it would make financial sense.
Unfortunately, the talks came to a halt on Monday night, leading to Warner Bros. TV group's efforts to find a new home concluding.
In response, the cast took to social media to pay tribute to the show.
On Instagram, Josh Dallas, who played Ben Stone, thanked the fans for their continued support over the years.

Few American actors have stayed in their lane as consistently as Seth Rogen, whose raspy stoner chuckle radiates with what-see-is-what-you-get conviction. “An American Pickle” turns that archetype inside out: Playing both an Eastern European Jew tossed into modern-day Manhattan through the magic of the brining process, as well as that same character’s bumbling modern-day great-grandchild, Rogen’s bizarre dual performance explores the roots of the slacker archetype in Jewish guilt.
It’s a total one-note joke — Tevye the Milkman meets “Encino Man” — and Rogen runs with it as far as he can, while the movie struggles to keep pace. Pitched somewhere between outrageous satire and sincerity, the movie has a tough time finding its priorities, but it’s endearing to watch it try. After all, that’s the same conundrum facing Ben Greenbaum, the modern-day New Yorker tasked with orienting Herschel Greenbaum to 21st century life even as the...

Here is a wrap-up of all the news you need to know from Wednesday, August 21, 2019.
Legacies is adding another new addition to its ranks for Season 2.
Deadline is reporting that The Fosters veteran Bianca Santos has been added in a recurring capacity.
She will play a "sharp-tongued and flirtatious” Mystic Falls High School student named Maya.
She will be the daughter of the new Sheriff in town, who goes by the name of Mac. There's no telling what became of Matt Donovan, but given that he's survived every deadly scenario in Mystic Falls, he may be off taking some much-needed respite.
Related: Legacies Adds Thomas Doherty
Maya also has a brother named Ethan, so there's that.
The good news here is that it sounds like we'll be spending more time in the town as opposed to just the high school setting.
Alexis Denisof and Thomas Doherty were previously added to the Season 2 cast.

Law & Order: Svu Season 19 featured a number of blasts from the past. Brian Cassidy and Alex Cabot paid visits, and there was a funeral for Ben Stone, the original Da on the original Law & Order.
One fan favorite was missing, though. Elliot Stabler has not made an appearance since actor Chris Meloni chose to leave the show at the end of Season 12, and many fans miss him.
In honor of Stabler and of Svu's recently wrapping up its 19th year on the air, here are 19 memories of Elliot Stabler at his best (and sometimes at his worst).
Drop your favorite in the comments, and don't forget you can always watch Law & Order: Svu online or more of your favorite characters and stories

NBC’s Lost-esque airplane thriller Manifest has landed a series order, TVLine has confirmed.
Penned by Mysteries of Laura creator Jeff Rake and counting Robert Zemeckis among its other EPs, Manifest is described as a character-driven, high-concept mystery thriller in which a plane disappears from radar and returns years later after being untraceable and presumed lost at sea. No time has passed for those aboard the plane, but for their loved ones at home, years have gone by. The series follows the passengers’ personal lives as well as the larger mystery and purpose that is their destiny.

Alex Cabot was always my favorite Ada. She always tried to do the right thing and wasn't above bending the rules in the name of justice.
And her "death," followed by the reveal that she was going into Witness Protection, broke my heart. So I was ridiculously excited to learn Cabot was returning to Law & Order: Svu Season 19 Episode 18.
I loved every minute of her guest appearance and was heartbroken all over again that this is probably the last we're going to see of her, at least for a while.
As soon as Svu assumed Jules and Ruby Hunter were dead, I knew that they had disappeared and that Alex was helping them.
The promo had shown Benson confronting Alex, and I remembered a similar story on the original Law & Order where a kid supposedly kidnapped from a supermarket had been taken by some people who were protecting her from an abusive parent.

Philip Winchester knows he's not exactly in good standing with every Law & Order: Svu fan. In "The Undiscovered Country," Svu introduced Winchester as his Chicago Justice character Peter Stone, son of Law & Order's Ben Stone, and the replacement to Raúl Esparza's Ada Rafael Barba. Winchester's character immediately clashed with the Special Victims Unit and its mama bear, Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). "There are big shoes to fill, Raúl is an incredible actor…he had a great relationship with Mariska. Just personally, not even as Peter Stone, but as Philip Winchester coming in, there's a lot of, 'Gosh, this is someone else's playground. These are kids I...

With a population of over 2.7 million, Chicago is a dynamic and diverse city, which makes it the perfect backdrop for many TV shows, especially cop and medical dramas!
Some shows use the city as just a setting, while others dig right into the core of the city, hoping to capture its essence.
No one series has a "correct" depiction — they are all stories seen through various characters, experiencing different situations in the many, versatile neighborhoods.
But, one thing that they all have in common? An undying love for the city; their Chicago. If you've been to Chicago you've probably heard the phrase, "Chicago is the new Hollywood."
Truthfully, Chicago will never churn out as many TV shows as Hollywood, and it doesn't want to; the rise in shows signifies everyone can find something to relate to in the city of Chicago.

Former Once Upon a Time star, Josh Dallas, has booked his next big TV role.
According to Deadline, the talented actor will lead the cast of NBC's Manifest, which recently scored a pilot order.
The series focuses on passengers returning from a plane that went missing several years ago.
The official logline reads: “A plane disappears from radar and returns years later after being untraceable and presumed lost at sea. No time has passed for those on the plane, but for their loved ones at home, many years have gone by."
"The [potential] series follows their personal lives as well as the larger mystery and purpose that is their destiny.”
It does have similarities to ABC's Lost, but we should really reserve judgment until we lay eyes on the project should it go to series.

I was beyond excited when I heard that Sam Waterson and Philip Winchester were going to guest star on Law & Order: Svu.
I've been a fan of the Law & Order franchise from the beginning and Sam Waterson for longer than that. I still remember his role on the short-lived I'll Fly Away, and I love him on Grace & Frankie.
I was heartbroken when Chicago Justice was canceled after only one season, so seeing Peter Stone again was doubly exciting. I didn't expect Ben Stone to die, nor did I expect Barba to resign so that Peter could take his place, though.
Law & Order: Svu Season 19 Episode 12 was a powerful hour of television that was full of surprises. I'm not quite sure how I feel about any of this.
Exit stories are always risky. Viewers get attached to characters and seeing them go is heartbreaking!

This meeting of the Committee to Lure Sam Waterston Back to Law & Order: Svu full-time is now in session. All members in favor of keeping Jack McCoy around as a regular presence to slap some occasional sense into Benson & Co., say “aye.” All those — oh wait, everyone voted yes? Great! Meeting adjourned!
If only it were that simple, eh? Well, at least we have this week’s episode, which brings McCoy into the action thanks to the death of another beloved Svu character, then keeps him around when the unit gets involved in a very ugly right-to-die case.

Now that Law & Order: Svu has reached Season 19, maybe it’s time for the NBC procedural to give its long-persecuted heroine Olivia Benson a bit of a break?
Fat chance, says newly appointed showrunner Michael Chernuchin.

With Ben Stone as a father, Peter has a lot to live up to.
The elder Stone didn't have much of a personal life in the original Law & Order, but now Peter regularly describes him as strict, having high expectations for his son, and not always able to be there for him.
And on Chicago Justice Season 1 Episode 6, Peter seemed almost as haunted by the advice his father gave him after missing his baseball game as by his inability to get justice for a grieving widow.
At first, I wasn't sure why Stone was so affected by this case.
Sure, Gail Marcus was upset and cried on his shoulder, but he seemed to be taking her case awfully personally and not just because he'd lost at trial.
I was pretty sure Chicago Justice wasn't going to go the route of Stone having an affair with a witness so soon after...

Judging the #OneChicago franchise’s latest entry, Chicago Justice, off Wednesday’s special preview feels a bit like cheating. After all, the hour was part of a crossover, not a regular installment. As part of my epic, foolish project to list the 100 best episodes of the '94–'95 TV season, I spent a lot of time revisiting old favorites. And it was a real treat! Particularly fun was revisiting season five of Law & Order because I went through an actual spiritual shift that I never could have predicted. For as long as I can remember, Ben Stone was my favorite D.A. I like his whininess! But rewatching some of the '94–95 episodes — which are definitely among the series' best — I've been swayed. I am now Team Jack McCoy. And that makes the '94–'95 lineup My Ultimate Law & Order Cast. For the cop lineup, I'm Briscoe or bust; I live in a Jerry Orbach–or-Nothing world, as should you. I prefer Mike Logan (Chris Noth), though I can understand people who like Rey Curtis (Benjamin Bratt) and Ed Green (Jesse...

Moviegoers are often asked to suspend their disbelief. In 2012 alone, we experienced a world in which a young Indian boy finds a mysterious killer island full of meerkats. Audiences also reveled in Rian Johnson’s story about future mobsters who send their victims back in time to be killed. But perhaps most incredulously, we were asked in Paul Thomas Anderson’s most recent enigmatic wonder to believe a dude like Philip Seymour Hoffman could score a babe like Amy Adams.

“Unsafe” is the adaptation of one of my favorite Law & Order episodes, 1993′s “American Dream.” That episode was not only well-done, but featured a great performance from Zeljko Ivanek (one of my favorite franchise guest stars), so I was expecting a lot from “Unsafe.”
It delivers.
The uncovering of a shallow grave that contains a badly decomposed body is the starting point for Brooks and Devlin. Thankfully, they’re able to identify the victim by his watch and the pin that was in his knee: David Ackroyd. There’s one major hitch: Steel had already convicted Luke Slade (Lara Croft: Tomb Raider‘s Iain Glen) of Ackroyd’s murder. Ronnie and Matt have to reopen Slade’s case when they realize that where they found the body isn’t where Slade’s accomplice testified that it would be, and the cause of death is completely different. There’s a running joke that everyone has been on Law & Order at some point. With seven incarnations over two decades, it’s become less of a joke and more of a reality. What is happening with the Law & Order: Los Angeles Deputy District Attorneys?
Last night’s episode, “Harbor City,” saw another unengaging performance in the courtroom from Dda Peter Morales (Alfred Molina), who may have pulled out a win in the final ten minutes, but was clearly not as interesting as either his defendant or opposing counsel. Morales is sharing screen time with Dda Jonah Dekker (Terrence Howard), and while Dekker at least has a more aggressive personality, neither of the two really click. Not in a role that, on the show it replaced – the original Law & Order – became the one to watch thanks to a succession of great actors in the part. Whichever man filled the Eada role on the original, you knew you were going to get a solid performance.

Let’s be honest: last week’s premiere of Law & Order: Los Angeles was dismal. However, this week saw Terrence Howard’s debut in the lead District Attorney role, Teri Polo (Sports Night) starting her recurring role as Rex’s wife/former partner, Jay Karnes (The Shield) as a defense attorney, and Michael Massee (24) playing a creepy cult leader, so it had to get better, right?
It’s not encouraging when the show hasn’t learned from the outcry and reinstated the classic opening; instead, we get another tired pop song. Clunky dialogue abounds (“You’re around decent people now,” says one character in the definition of flat line reading) before Rex and Tj find a stabbing victim who was previously a member of a cult called the Echo Park Tribe. NBC aired its final "Law and Order" episode last night, quietly ending the run of the show tied for the longest running drama in television history. It was a tepid episode, ripped from stale headlines and featuring an atypical subplot concerning the personal life of one of its characters, Lt. Anita Van Buren (not that she didn't deserve it, being the longest-running cast member on the show).
"Law and Order" has bounced around on NBC schedule a lot these last few years, and hasn't been the ratings powerhouse it once was for NBC before "L&O" copycats like "CSI" came along (not to mention the "L&O" spin-offs). The feud-starting dialogue in a recent episode of “Entourage” pointed out the all too obvious: “Knocked Up” is insanely unrealistic. People get pregnant all the time and romance usually starts in the most unusual of places, true. But no way in hell does Katherine Heigl look across a crowded nightclub, see Seth Rogen and decide then and there, “Yep, that’s the dude I’m hooking up with tonight.” Frankly, the entire scenario is absurd.
Then again, it isn’t. Seth Rogen’s a good looking dude, even under the scruffy costume of "Knocked Up"'s Ben Stone, and while Katherine Heigl is a stunning beauty under any circumstances, she isn’t some fictional goddess under the precise make-up and dress of movie production. Of course these two people could end up together. Attraction, and life in general, are unpredictable like that. Capturing that randomness convincingly on film, harnessing just...
