Mumbai, Oct 25 (Ians) Singer Babul Supriyo on the occasion of Dussehra on Sunday unveiled a song that signifies love, faith and devotion.
Sung by Babul Supriyo, with music by Anu Malik and lyrics by Sameer Anjaan, the song is called "Tera shukr shukr".
"I love the simplicity of the lyrics, music and the video. That's what connects me to the song. When I have my eyes closed, it's actually an expression of ‘Shukriya' (thank you) to the Supreme Being and not mere acting for the visuals," said Babul.
"Singing an integral part of ‘I Me Myself' and the ability to sing is free gift from God. But neither have I been a religious person nor someone who sang a lot of bhajans as a singer," he added.
So it was very special for him to get to sing a song to express "my gratitude for this gift of life".

The tragic tale of love, pining forever, but never finding their happy ever after, is something that has inspired writers ever since Shakespeare with his tale of Romeo and Juliet. In India, we have an older version of this tale in Layla and Majnun first written down by Nizami Ganjavi in 1188. In Hollywood, countless movies seem to be made or inspired by Romeo and Juliet and of course how could Bollywood miss out on the chance to bring this to audiences with the story of Layla and Majnu. Whether it be Rishi Kapoor’s 1976 version, the brilliant nautanki in Madhuri Dixit’s Aaja Nachle or the recently released 2018 film Laila Majnu, the original great tale of Layla and Majnun, tells of the ill-fated lovers, brought together by love, divided by their families and driven mad by Majnun’s undying devotion for his Layla.

The slap on stage is the latest in a long history of outrageous behavior that has become the trademark style of singer Mika Singh.
While understandably, no colleague, musician, or producer is willing to speak out against Mika's latest instance of public misconduct, a reputed singer on condition of anonymity says, "Mika kuch bhi, kabhi bhi kar sakta hai. It is very strange that he now talks of protecting the izzat of women. He has never shown any kind of respect for women. I am sure you remember the notorious incident where he had grabbed Rakhi Sawant and smooched her at a public gathering. He shouldn't talk about protecting women's dignity. It doesn't befit him."
A leading music composer condemns what he calls Mika's "cave-man tactics". "If you meet this guy he is exactly the way his songs sound. There's an undercurrent of aggression and misogyny about him which is very disturbing.

.Not a patch on the old film. is likely to be the common response to most remakes, perhaps without too much thought going into the opinion. But what sets the new adaptation of the 1980 classic .Ogo Bodhu Sundori. apart is its tenacious adherence to the original theme. The plot digresses a bit to accommodate a few twists and turns adding an extra zing to the storyline. The Original Soundtrack of the evergreen classic in its new avatar was launched today in the presence of Mr. Sourav Ganguly, former Indian cricket captain.Directed by Sunando Mitra and produced jointly by D Silva Production, Rose Valley Films and Brand Value Communications, the album was launched under the banner of Inreco. This is concerning a news item featured in a popular English afternoon daily about Mr. Kamal Khan (famous or in-famous for Deshdrohi) signing me for his forthcoming film Deshdrohi Part-2. In this regard, I wish to clarify that neither have I signed nor have I discussed any specific film with Mr. Khan. While it is true that we met through a common friend, I confirm that we never discussed a film on 26/11 or my role in it simply because I feel what happened on 26/11 is too serious and traumatic an event to be made into a film. Largely speaking, the primary motive of a film is to entertain.
