President Trump on Friday morning signed a national emergency declaration in order to build a wall along America’s southern border. He announced the news during a press conference in the Rose Garden at the White House. “I’m going to be signing a national emergency and it’s been signed many times before,” he said. “It’s rarely been a problem. They sign it. Nobody cares.”
Though Trump claimed indifference to previous national emergency declarations due to the fact that they “weren’t very exciting,” it’s likely because,...

"Saturday Night Live" got in on the gun control debate Saturday night, taking some pot shots at politicians who have dragged their feet on the matter. In the cold open, President Obama (Jay Pharaoh) appeared with Senator Joe Manchin (Jason Sudeikis) and Senator Patrick Toomey (Bill Hader). He noted how "amazing" it was that these parties have "agreed to think about talking about gun control," and then turned it over to the faux Toomey. He proudly declared, "If our bill passes, no individual can purchase a handgun from a private dealer...

"Saturday Night Live" kicked off its Vince Vaughn-helmed episode with a cold open that focused on the continuing gun control debate.
President Obama (Jay Pharoah) started off by announcing the good news that this week "the Senate voted 68 to 31 to begin debating the idea of discussing gun control." He continued, "Let me say that again, they've agreed to think about talking about gun control... amazing."
He then introduced Senators Joe Manchin (Jason Sudeikis) and Patrick Toomey (Bill Hader) who reluctantly recapped the progress they've made thus far, including making it illegal to shoot three or more guns at the same time ("Unfortunately, the punishment is we give you a fourth gun...").
Watch the clip above and let us know if you think "SNL" nailed it.

For the first time since 1998 (remember when he was still that fresh-faced, breakout star of Swingers and The Lost Word: Jurassic Park?), Vince Vaughn returned this week to host Saturday Night Live. That’s a lifetime between hosting gigs, and it struck me as curious that he’d gone so long between trips to Studio 8H.
Alas, unlike what we saw from Melissa McCarthy last week, a strong monologue ultimately didn’t translate into a laugh-laden show. Because after a strong, confident start, Vaughn lost the plot (was it the cue cards?) in a big, big way. Choosing only two...
