It’s been over 40 years since the pioneering hip hop group Run-dmc formed in Hollis, Queens, but Darryl “Dmc” McDaniels insists, “I remember everything like it was yesterday.”
He appeared at Deadline’s Contenders Television: Documentary & Unscripted virtual event to discuss the Peacock docuseries Kings from Queens: The Run Dmc Story, which chronicles the group’s incredible achievements and influence. Along with McDaniels, Run-dmc was comprised of Joseph “Run” Simmons and the late Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell.
“We’re going back to 1980,” producer/EP William H. Masterson III said of the series, “when really hip hop was relatively small, and taking the viewer on a ride with these three young men from Queens that came together and really changed a lot — changed pop, changed fashion, changed music, changed race relations between white people and Black people.”

After a setback caused by lead singer Steven Tyler‘s vocal cord injury, rock legends Aerosmith are ready to hit the road once again for their final tour, Peace Out. The band recently took to Instagram to share their excitement as they unveiled the rescheduled dates for their highly anticipated farewell tour.
The tour, which will kick off on September 20 in Pittsburgh, continues through February 26 of the following year and concludes with a final show in Buffalo, New York. Aerosmith will be joined by special guests The Black Crowes.
Back in September 2023, Aerosmith made the announcement that Tyler had suffered a vocal cord injury. In a heartfelt statement posted on their Facebook page, the band revealed that the injury was more severe than initially anticipated, as Tyler also fractured his larynx, and required ongoing care. Consequently, the remaining Peace Out farewell tour dates were postponed indefinitely after only three shows.

Slash has unveiled the latest single from his upcoming blues album, Orgy of the Damned, set to arrive on May 17th. The Guns N’ Roses guitarist teams up with country superstar Chris Stapleton on a cover of Fleetwood’s Mac’s “Oh Well.”
The freewheeling guitar playing from Slash and the raspy vocal delivery from Stapleton add a gritty vibe to Fleetwood Mac’s original 1969 song, a bluesy garage number that was penned and sung by singer-guitarist Peter Green.

Slash said of the song in a press release, “So, this is the original Fleetwood Mac, which was founded by Peter Green, one of the greatest singer-songwriter-guitar players, he’s less known in the public, but very well known to us guitar players re the 60s British blues and he’s up there with Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Mick Taylor. When Slash was putting together the track list for his upcoming blues album, Orgy of the Damned, he had a very distinct voice in mind for his version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Oh Well”: Chris Stapleton.
“His singing cadence and that drawl that he has for this particular song, in my mind’s eye, it sounded perfect,” the Guns N’ Roses guitarist tells Rolling Stone.
But despite Stapleton having opened some shows for Gn’R, Slash didn’t already have a relationship with the country crooner. “I had to...

Aerosmith has announced the rescheduled dates for the “Peace Out” farewell tour, which was abruptly postponed last September because of singer Steven Tyler’s ongoing vocal cord and larynx problems.
The singer’s doctor said last year that Tyler, “in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, fractured his larynx, which requires ongoing care. He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential.”
Produced by Live Nation, the 40-date North American tour will feature three news shows in addition to the rescheduled dates. It is set to kick off in Pittsburgh at Ppg Paints Arena on Sept. 20 and will make stops across the U.S. and Canada, including Los Angeles’ Kia Forum and New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Steven Tyler is primarily recognized as the lead vocalist and frontman of the iconic heavy metal rock band Aerosmith. Alongside guitarist Joe Perry, Tyler played a pivotal role in shaping the band’s identity since its inception in the 1970s.

Around the time Slash parted ways with Guns N’ Roses, he got deep into the blues and soul music. With a group called Slash’s Blues Ball, he reinterpreted the music of Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, and Stevie Wonder, among others, at gigs between 1996 and 1998. Now — nearly three decades later — the guitarist, who returned to Gn’R in 2016, is recommitting himself to that group’s repertoire on Orgy of the Damned, a new solo album due out May 17, which finds him trading licks with many of his famous friends.

Former president Donald Trump’s campaign to retake the White House is under fire from the estate of late pop singer Sinéad O’Connor this week after her iconic No. 1 hit “Nothing Compares 2 U” has been used at the Republican hopeful’s rallies.
The campaign for Trump, who is a lock for the Republican Party nomination for the presidency after blowing past his primary competition, played the song — written by Prince for his band, The Family, and later rearranged in a cover by the Irish singer-songwriter — at rallies in North Carolina and Maryland last week. Using the 1990 hit from O’Connor, who was known equally for the track as she was for her political activism, brought a harsh rebuke in a joint statement from her label and estate that was widely published on Monday.

In 2023, Aerosmith began their farewell tour over five decades after the band formed in Boston. Though the group postponed many of their tour dates after lead singer Steven Tyler damaged his vocal chords, they currently plan to resume shows in 2024. In recent years, the band has dealt with a number of health issues and sexual abuse allegations against Tyler.

Aerosmith didn’t score their first No. 1 hit until 1998, but they were a successful group for years before this. Their first album had a tepid reception from critics and the general public in 1973, but they became one of the biggest bands in the world by the end of the decade. Fifty years later, the band is still together and planning performances.

A U.S. District Judge on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit from a woman who alleges that Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler sexually assaulted her when she was 17. The case was one of two pending against the Grammy winner. The other, filed in California in 2022, is still in process.
The suit from Jeanne Bellino maintains that she was a 17-year-old model when a friend arranged for her to meet the singer, then 27. Bellino’s complaint says Tyler sexually assaulted her twice over the next few hours, — once in a phone booth and once at a hotel — by forcibly groping, kissing and “humping” her.
The former American Idol star’s court filings have stated he “vehemently denies” the allegations.
The suit was brought under New York City’s Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, which extends the statute of limitations for older cases, offering a new, two-year window in which they can make...

A federal judge in New York has dismissed a case stemming from an alleged 1975 incident in which Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler is accused of sexual assault against a teenage girl.
Jeanne Bellino filed the suit against Tyler under the Victims of Gender-Motivated Violence Protection Act, a New York City law that extends the statute of limitations and is designed to aid sex abuse victims in recovering compensation and holding perpetrators accountable. On Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan said that Bellino’s case did not qualify for the two-year window because she “does not allege conduct presenting a serious risk of physical injury” and therefore was not legally sufficient.
In granting the defense’s request for a dismissal, Kaplan noted that two state laws, the Child Victims Act and the Adult Survivors Act, pre-empt the filing under Vgmvpa. Kaplan agreed with Tyler’s lawyers’ claims that these two laws...

A sexual assault case against Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler stemming from an alleged encounter in 1975 has been dismissed by a judge.
According to Reuters, US District Judge Lewis Kaplan in Manhattan ruled that the plaintiff, Jeanne Bellino, a former child model who was 17 at the time of the alleged encounter, waited too long to sue Tyler under a New York City law protecting victims of gender-motivated violence.
The plaintiff’s initial allegations involve two encounters on the same day in Manhattan in 1975.
Bellino alleged that she first met Tyler, 27 at the time, via a friend who had arranged for them to meet Aerosmith at the Warwick Hotel following a Manhattan fashion show that Bellino was working. From there, Bellino, her friend, Tyler, and members of his entourage began walking down Sixth Avenue together. Johnny Marr, the former guitarist for the rock band The Smiths, slammed Donald Trump for using one of his band’s songs during his political rallies.
“As Trump is scheduled to take the stage in [Laconia, New Hampshire], the new addition to his pre-rally music is The Smiths,” the X user wrote.
On January 23, another user replied to this post with a clip from a Trump rally in Rapid City, South Dakota.
“You actually hear the Smiths more often than you’d think at 2024 Trump rallies,” the user wrote in her post’s caption.
The Smiths song “Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want,” released in 1984, can be heard playing over the loudspeakers.

The Smiths’ Johnny Marr has taken to Twitter to express his disappointment over the usage of his former band’s songs at Donald Trump’s campaign rallies.
It started on Monday night when journalist Ben Jacobs tweeted that The Smiths’ “Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want” was being played as the pre-rally music for a Trump speech in Laconia, New Hampshire. Then, journalist Soo Rin Kim replied with a video clip of the song being played at a rally in Rapid City, South Dakota last year — an odd sight that would be even more juxtaposing if it weren’t for the fact that Trump definitely likes to get what he wants.
Now, replying to Kim’s video, Marr has made it clear that he isn’t having any of it. “Ahh…right…Ok,” he wrote. “I never in a million years would’ve thought this could come to pass.

Jamie Foxx, Axl Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr. Sued in Wave of Sexual Assault Lawsuits Ahead of Key Deadline
A series of high-profile figures in Hollywood are being sued ahead of a deadline to file lawsuits under a New York law that suspended time constraints on claims involving allegations of sexual misconduct for one year.
At the top of the list of defendants who are expected to be sued or were named in complaints filed Wednesday and Thursday in New York’s state Supreme Court: Sean “Diddy” Combs, Axl Rose, Cuba Gooding Jr., Jamie Foxx and Jimmy Iovine. On Tuesday, Bill Cosby was also sued in another suit from a woman claiming the actor drugged and sexually assaulted her in the 1980s.
Plaintiffs, who typically would’ve been constrained from suing under the statute of limitations, have been taking advantage of New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which revived the window to bring sexual misconduct claims for one year. It closes at midnight Thursday. This month, suits were filed against Combs,...

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has been sued for an alleged sexual assault that occurred in 1989.
In the lawsuit filed in New York City on Wednesday (November 22nd), former Penthouse model Sheila Kennedy claims that Rose “violently” raped her after the two met at a night club. She says that Rose invited her and former MTV host, Riki Rachtman, to his New York hotel room, where he gave them alcohol and cocaine. Kennedy eventually became “uncomfortable” when the musician began aggressively having sex with another model in front of Kennedy, encouraging her to engage in group sex.
The complaint states that Kennedy and Rachtman then left the hotel room, which made Rose “furious” and prompted him to “loom threateningly.” After finding Kennedy in Rachtman’s hotel room, Rose allegedly pushed Kennedy to the ground and dragged her by her hair...

A second woman has stepped forward to say that Steven Tyler, the frontman of Aerosmith, assaulted her as a teenager.
The lawsuit was filed in New York on November 2.
The allegations stem from two same-day encounters in New York City, in 1975.
Plaintiff Jeanne Bellino seeks unspecified damages in the suit, which lists the cause of action as “gender-motivated violence.”
Bellino, who was 17 and a child model at the time, alleged that she met Tyler, 27 at the time, through a friend who had arranged to meet the band at a hotel after a fashion show that Bellino walked in.
From the hotel, Bellino and her friend followed Tyler and some of his friends down Sixth Avenue. Bellino says when she asked Tyler a question about a song lyric, he got upset and forced Bellimo into a nearby phone booth.

Sofia Coppola’s atypical biopic Priscilla centers Elvis Presley’s iconic wife in a way no portrayal of the one-time King of Rock n’ Roll has even considered. Adapted from Priscilla Presley’s bestselling autobiography Elvis and Me, the tumultuous, troubling relationship between a shy schoolgirl and the most famous singer on the planet raises more questions than it answers. Offstage and at home, the charismatic and swaggering crooner and sometime actor is revealed to be a temperamental husband with a lot of phobias around sex and an abusive need for total control. And one of audiences’ biggest questions about the King’s proclivities is intentionally left ambiguous: Why did Elvis refuse to consummate the affair between himself and Priscilla before marriage, despite having engaged in other sexual relationships before, during, and after their marriage?

Another woman is coming forward with a sexual assault lawsuit against Steven Tyler.
The 75-year-old Aerosmith frontman has been accused of assaulting Jeanne Bellino twice in one day in 1975, according to her suit filed on Thursday (November 2) in New York City.

Dolly Parton’s favorite word might be “no.”
She turned down Elvis Presley when he wanted to record her hit “I Will Always Love You” after his manager requested half of the song’s publishing rights. She initially declined her invitation to join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And she forwent performing at the Super Bowl halftime show — several times.
Most artists wouldn’t pass on those golden opportunities, but this American treasure is unbothered.
“Oh, sure. I’ve been offered that many times,” Parton tells The Hollywood Reporter about the halftime show. “I couldn’t do it because of other things, or I just didn’t think I was big enough to do it — to do that big of a production. A24 has become a household name, even among general audiences, because of its penchant for finding unconventional stories that appeal to niche audiences. Many casual moviegoers have been frustrated by the patience required for the more substantial and less generic storytelling typically found within an A24 film, from recent entries like "The Green Knight" back to Jonathan Glazer's "Under the Skin." But when it comes to "Dicks: The Musical," the raunchy R-rated comedy from fresh-faced comedians and collaborators Aaron Jackson & Josh Sharp and "Borat" director/"Seinfeld" executive producer Larry Charles, you pretty much get exactly what has been advertised in the movie's zany trailer.
Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp star in "Dicks: The Musical," which they also wrote the script, lyrics, and book for, based on their own off-off-Broadway stage show that originated at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. Right at the top of the movie, bumper cards inform...

Aerosmith is postponing their entire 2023 Peace Out: The Farewell Tour until next year after learning that lead singer Steven Tyler’s vocal injury is “more serious than initially thought.”
The band announced the news in a statement posted to their social media on Friday. “I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world,” Tyler said in a statement. “I promise we will be back as soon as we can!”
The tour delay comes amid Tyler’s ongoing vocal cord issues, which were previously believed to be related to typical damage. However, a health professional has since confirmed the singer also “fractured his larynx” and will require ongoing care.
“He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential,...
