Unforgettable is still around? It is! CBS may have cancelled the Poppy Montgomery starrer back in 2012, but the action was premature. The show is coming back and season two will premiere Sunday, July 28, with a familiar face aboard. Hey, its brat packer, Andrew McCarthy!
Unforgettable almost proved to be forgettable, but the TV gods are now giving it another chance. It follows Syracuse police detective Carrie Wells, who had hyperthymesia. Basically, that means she can visually remember everything…everything but her sister’s murder.
Pretty in Pink star Andrew McCarthy is already Unforgettable in my book. But CBS isn’t giving him more than a guest-starring role at this point. We’ll see him in the season premiere of the series’ second season, reports THR.
McCarthy will play Ari Sonnenland, “a wealthy real estate developer whose 11-year-old daughter has been kidnapped”. Sonnenland has the money to pay the ransom, but...

"Unforgettable" star Poppy Montgomery doesn't quite get the TV business. Montgomery, who stars as Carrie Wells on the CBS procedural drama, recently told Give Me My Remote about the experience of having your show canceled ... and then renewed.
"I have a very philosophical view about it, which is, there's so much good content in television ... it's a difficult job," Montgomery said. "I don’t understand what makes a show stay on or what makes it go away, but I sort of accept that it’s right if they make that decision. And so when it was gone, I was sad, I will always love that character and the people I work with, so I understood. And I’ve worked with CBS for so long that I was like, 'They’re family. We’ll do something together again.' And when it came back, I was genuinely flabbergasted and thrilled."
CBS canceled "Unforgettable" after one season.

Well, "Unforgettable" fans, the good news is that despite an initial cancellation, CBS has changed their minds about the series, agreeing to revive it for a second season. The not-so-good news is that when the show returns, it's going to look very different from what you remember.
Obviously, Poppy Montgomery will be returning to reprise her role as Carrie Wells, an NYPD detective plagued by hyperthymesia, which causes her to remember every experience in great detail. Montgomery's costars Dylan Walsh and Jane Curtin have also signed on for Season 2.
The supporting cast hasn't been so lucky. "CBS made some creative changes and the supporting cast will not be returning next season," tweeted Daya Vaidya. "Yea, Nina, Roe, Mike and Tanya r gone. Sad but all of us have great projects in the near future." Zap2it has confirmed that Vaidya, Michael Gaston, and Kevin Rankin will not rejoin the cast...

Three actors have been dropped from the cast of CBS drama Unforgettable. The cop procedural - starring Poppy Montgomery - was axed in May, but the network later reversed its decision, picking the show up for a second season to air in 2013. However, cast members Michael Gaston (Det. Mike Costello), Kevin Rankin (Det. Roe Saunders) and Daya Vaidya (Det. Nina Inara) will not return as series regulars, TVLine reports. Series star Montgomery (more)...

When "Unforgettable" returns for Season 2 during the summer of 2013 it will reportedly look a little different. According to TVLine, the cast is undergoing a shake-up.
Series star Poppy Montgomery has signed on to appear in the newly-revived series, as have co-stars Dylan Walsh and Jane Curtin. But Michael Gaston, Kevin Rankin and Daya Vaidya won't be returning for Season 2, meaning the NYPD squad will likely feature some new recruits.
"Unforgettable" was canceled by CBS after one season. The show aired Tuesdays at 10 p.m. and posted solid ratings, averaging 12.1 million viewers per episode.
"I don't know if it's what went wrong [with 'Unforgettable']," Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment, told reporters after initially canceling "Unforgettable." "It was more about what went right with the new pilots. It started very strong in the beginning of the season. They were continuing to produce great episodes. Every show knows that when they get to end of their first season,...

It’s a good thing Unforgettable‘s Carrie Wells has that super-memory, because she may need it to remember some of the colleagues who helped her crack cases during Season 1.
Sources confirm for TVLine that the CBS procedural, which in late June was plucked from the cancellation ashes and slotted for a Summer 2013 encore, has dropped three of its series regulars.

CBS’ Unforgettable beat the odds by scoring a 13-episode second-season renewal after getting cancelled in May. But not everyone from the drama procedural’s cast will be back when series returns next summer. CBS and producing studios Sony Pictures TV and CBS TV Studios locked in stars Poppy Montgomery and Dylan Walsh before the series’ pickup last month. Also signed for Season 2 is Jane Curtin, who joined the series as a new regular halfway through the first season. The three were considered key to Unforgettable‘s renewal. As for the rest of the series’ regular cast, none is expected to continue as producers are evaluating the show’s creative direction. “CBS made some creative changes and the supporting cast will not be returning next season,” Season 1 Unforgettable regular Daya Vaidya tweeted earlier this month. “Yea, Nina, Roe, Mike and Tanya r gone,” she wrote, referring to the characters played on...

CBS has un-canceled "Unforgettable."
The crime drama, which the network axed at the end of last season, has completed a turnaround that will see it return for a second season in the summer of 2013. CBS has ordered 13 episodes, Deadline reports.
The show, which stars Poppy Montgomery as a police consultant with a near-perfect memory, was one of the most-watched shows to be canceled at the end of the 2011-12 season. It averaged 12.1 million viewers and a 2.5 rating among adults 18-49.
After the cancellation, reports started circulating that Lifetime and TNT were interested in reviving "Unforgettable." Producer Sony Pictures TV started talking with CBS about a second season about the same time.
Season 1 of "Unforgettable" also starred Dylan Walsh, Kevin Rankin, Daya Vaidya, Michael Gaston and Jane Curtin. There's no word on whether all the regular will return.

It turns out that Unforgettable didn't live up to its name. CBS has cancelled the police drama after one season on the air.
The TV series revolves around Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery), a female police detective with an unusually detailed memory (hyperthymesia) that helps her solve crimes. The cast also includes Dylan Walsh, Michael Gaston, Kevin Rankin, and Daya Vaidya.
Unforgettable started out the season with a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 14.09 million total viewers. Over the course of the season, the drama's ratings declined. At the end of the season, they fell as low as a 1.8 demo rating with 9.45 million viewers.
The season ended up averaging a 2.3 rating in the demo with 11.3 million viewers. While the total number of viewers is impressive, the demo number (and its decline) is not. CBS already has...

In March, CBS handed down a lot of early renewals for next season. The network is doing very well so there weren't any surprises in the bunch. One show that wasn't mentioned was Unforgettable. Does this series have a chance at being renewed or is it doomed to be cancelled?

She can recall every place, day, and conversation that she's ever had -- except some key details of the day her sister died and it haunts her. In a new interview, "Unforgettable" star Daya Vaidya says she and husband Don Wallace are expecting identical twin boys this summer.
"Even when my doctor saw only one baby in our first ultrasound, my husband said he strangely felt there were two babies," says Vaidya in the Life & Style interview. "When they finally saw the second baby at three months, my jaw dropped to the floor, and my husband said with a huge smile, 'I told you so!'"
The couple already has a three-year-old daughter, Leela. Though Vaidya admits carrying twins is a little bit different.
"I literally hiked mountains during my ninth month [with Leela]," she says. "With twins, it's like walking around with a boulder in my belly and a belt around my lungs. I can barely walk two blocks, and I'm only in my fifth month!"...

Although Daya Vaidya may play a strong and sassy cop on the new CBS drama "Unforgettable," she says that even in 2011, "the casting couch" is still very much alive in Hollywood -- and you won't believe what one agent told her would happen to her career if she had a baby.
"When I was first starting out, there were a lot of innuendoes that if you do this, then this will happen. I won't name names, I will get in trouble," Daya tells me. "It wasn't like, 'Hey, take your pants off!' Strip baby!' but it is like 'go out with me. I am doing a show, come out with me.'"
Daya made it clear that she never accepted the director's offer but did tell me, "this is a major, major director I have since forgiven."

Chicago – As expected, CBS has given back-episode orders to new dramas “Unforgettable” and “Person of Interest,” meaning they’ll be on until at least May 2012. As for whether or not they’ll get second seasons, let the bubble watch begin. Both shows have done well in overall viewers but not as respectably in the key youth demos.
As touted by CBS, “Unforgettable” is technically the #1 new drama in viewers with 14 million people tuning in to the Tuesday night show with Poppy Montgomery, Michael Gaston, Dylan Walsh, Kevin Rankin, and Daya Vaidya. The show also notches a 4.2 rating in adults 25-54 and a 3.0 rating in adults 18-49, which isn’t a great number but works for older-skewing CBS.
“Person of Interest” is the #2 new drama of the year in overal viewers with just under 14 million viewers and more-impressive youth demo numbers with a 4.6 rating in adults 15-54 and a 3.3 rating in...

CBS has three new dramas to debut this fall season and tonight, they're launching the first one -- Unforgettable. With a title like that, it's like the producers are just begging for sarcastic headlines and reviews. Unfortunately, many of the critics are all too happy to oblige.
Unforgettable revolves around Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery), a former police detective who can't forget any details from her past -- except important ones surrounding her sister's long-ago murder. She's tried to put her old job behind her but, when she consults on a homicide case, Carrie is unexpectedly reunited with her ex-boyfriend and partner, NYPD Detective Al Burns (Dylan Walsh) and his team (Michael Gaston, Kevin Rankin, and Daya Vaidya).
Here's what the critics are saying about Unforgettable:

Late last year "60 Minutes" aired a really interesting piece about the handful of people in the world who have hyperthymesia, or superior autobiographical memory -- a condition in which they can remember literally almost everything they've ever experienced.
The story offered both a look at the blessing/curse of not being able to forget anything and how it affects these people's lives and some insight into research studying those with such prodigious memories. One of the people interviewed was actress Marilu Henner.
Indirectly or directly, that "60 Minutes" piece may have helped CBS' new crime drama "Unforgettable," which premieres at 10 p.m. Et Tuesday (Sept. 20), get on the air. (Henner is working as a consultant on the show, in fact.) But while the notion of not being able to forget anything remains fascinating to us, the show built around it is not. Chicago – Despite the best efforts of TV veterans Poppy Montgomery (“Without a Trace”) and Dylan Walsh (“Nip/Tuck”), “Unforgettable” is another dull CBS procedural, a show with some decent characters and a relatively-intriguing premise that is undone by weak writing and a silly presentation. CBS is such a juggernaut that anything can become a hit but it’s hard to believe this one will love up to its title for most viewers.
TV Rating: 2.0/5.0
Remember that “60 Minutes” about the people with extreme memory? The one with Marilu Henner? It’s almost as if someone saw that excellent piece about folks who can tell you if it was raining on any particular Tuesday in the last fifty years and realized there could be a procedural buried in there. Imagine the potential crime-solving of a woman with perfect memory. Such is the high concept of “Unforgettable,” a show with echoes of “Medium,...

As the networks roll out their fall schedules, CBS gets a chance to spend a lot of its day milling around the free snack table while surfing for new Apps. Whatever your thoughts might be on whether or not CBS has hot women, and is or isn't a network for old people (which it A- does, and B- nevertheless largely is), the fact is that they aren't rolling out a lot of new shows. P.S. don't write letters, if you haven't heard about CBS claiming it isn't for old people (or just for old people, I suppose) and has "hot women," that's not my fault.
You could go either way with the general idea that CBS is only putting out five new shows, while the other networks seem to have more new shows than they can juggle at once. On the one hand, CBS might be resting on its...

Former "Without a Trace" star Poppy Montgomery returns to CBS this fall as the star of "Unforgettable," playing a character with a memory that puts elephants to shame.
She plays Carrie Wells, a former detective who has hyperthymesia, a rare condition that makes her remember just about everything she's ever experienced. In the pilot, she's a witness to a murder, which brings her back in contact with her ex-partner and ex-boyfriend (Dylan Walsh, "Nip/Tuck"). She soon becomes a consultant to the NYPD, putting her total recall to use in homicide cases.
If Carrie's condition sounds familiar, you may have seen a "60 Minutes" piece about actress Marilu Henner and a handful of other people who have hyperthymesia a few months back. Henner is now a consultant on "Unforgettable."
"Without a Trace" veterans Ed Redlich and John Bellucci created "Unforgettable," which also stars Kevin Rankin ("Friday Night Lights," "Trauma"), Michael Gaston ("Jericho"), and Daya Vaidya.

CBS announced its 2011-2012 primetime fall schedule today. The most anticipated show for me is J.J. Abrams' Person of Interest starring Jim Caviezel, Michael Emmerson and Taraji P. Henson. I am also a huge fan of Kat Dennings, so it will be neat to see how 2 Broke Girls turns out. There are a total of three new dramas, two new comedies, and 19 returning series.

CBS unveiled its fall scheduled keeping Big Bang Theory on Thursdays and shifts veteran CSI from its longtime Thursday night anchor slot.
