Ilya Volk(1893-1975)

Ilya Fedorovich Volk - Soviet sound engineer at the Lenfilm film studio. In 1921 he entered, and in 1924 he graduated from the Leningrad Technological Institute. He participated in the first experimental work on recording sound on film. He began his work in cinema in 1930 at the Lenfilm film studio, where he recorded sound for the first Lenfilm sound art films Odin (1931) and Golden Mountains (1931). He worked with such masters of Soviet cinema as Friedrich Ermler, Sergey Yutkevich, Grigory Kozintsev, Leonid Trauberg, Mikhail Kalatozov and Nadezhda Kosheverova.
