After Minutemen's demise, Watt (along with another Minutmen member George Hurley) resurfaced in the alternative rock band Firehose, which ceased gigging and recording in 1994.
Minutemen's 1984 album "Double Nickels on the Dime" is considered a seminal work in the history of alternative and punk music, and also the US' best-selling album on an independent label.
