It’s Motown Night on “Dancing with the Stars” this week and nothing says “Motown” more than… Michael Strahan. The “Good Morning America” co-anchor will guest-judge the remaining 12 couples’ routines to soul hits.
Prepare yourself for a whole lotta foxtrots. Half of the dances are foxtrots and the other six are two quicksteps, one cha-cha, one tango, one rumba and one jive. Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach have the jive, marking the second consecutive week they are the only couple assigned a particular dance style (last week was rumba). Tptb are really testing out his extra vertebrae, huh?
After sitting out last week due to Covid-19, Artem Chigvintsev is back in the ballroom this week with Charity Lawson.
See the full list below.

Sure, the character may be assumed to be dead, but in the world of "Sleepy Hollow" there are no sure things, as evidenced by this recent casting news for the character of Abbie and Jenny's mother, Lori Mills.
Per Entertainment Weekly, Aunjanue Ellis ("The Mentalist") will portray Mrs. Mills. As we'll learn, due to Lori’s mental condition, both Abbie and Jenny were taken from their mother as children and made wards of the state, eventually ending up in foster care.
The girls believe their mother was crazy, unstable, even dangerous, and that 16 years ago she committed suicide while in the hospital’s mental ward. However, Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) will learn the real truth about their mother when new information surfaces.

Elisabeth Moss has been playing Peggy Olson on "Mad Men" for nearly a decade and despite the immense precision with which the AMC drama tells its '60s-set stories, she has a confession to make.
When asked on NPR's "Fresh Air" if she studied old ads from the '60s to get a feel for the environment at the time, Moss said, "No, not at all. I’ve done absolutely no research involving 'Mad Men' whatsoever. Let me be very clear. Everything that I’ve learned about advertising in that time period is from the show. You know, my interest has been so much more about Peggy as woman, her emotional life and who she is as a person."
Moss has previously said that the time period was never what mattered most to her about playing Peggy. "From the very beginning, from the pilot, I didn't care that it was the '60s.

The "Mad Men" Season 6 finale provided a strong sense of closure for certain season-long (and even some series-long arcs) but it also introduced plenty of questions for Matthew Weiner and company to tackle next year -- in what's expected to be the show's final season.
Weiner addressed many of the questions -- in his characteristically vague but fascinating fashion -- in a series of finale postmortem interviews. Here are some of the highlights:
1) Are Megan and Don breaking up?
After Don backed out of his promise to move to California, Megan finally reached her limit and walked out the door, leaving him alone on Thanksgiving. "Well, I mean, it certainly looks bad, and she does say, 'I can't take this right now,'" Weiner tells Vulture. "So for me, it was literally just like the partners putting Don on leave. At a certain point, [everyone's] like, 'Really? Forget it.' And...

Note: Do not read on if you have not yet seen the Season 6 finale of AMC's "Mad Men," titled "In Care Of."
Could Don Draper finally be growing up?
Most fathers are not a mystery to their children; most adults are not quite so hobbled by tortured pasts. But most people are not Don Draper, who, in the course of "Mad Men's" six seasons, has tried to shield his kids from the most basic truths about himself. Where he's from, how he grew up, what kind of life he had: Those were all things that he lied about, to co-workers, clients and those closest to him. But as viewers saw in the show's Season 6 finale (which I wrote about here), Don is in the process of shedding that false skin.
The final image of Season 6 was Draper showing his three children the house of ill repute in which he grew up.

Whenever I study the covers of classic soul records from the 1960s and '70s, I can't help but marvel at how sophisticated female singers like Gladys Knight, Mary Wells, Tammi Terrell and Diana Ross dressed. As my grandmother would say, "They were sharp!"
To round out their amazing vocal talents, these Motown artists were outfitted in extravagant gowns carrying thousand dollar price tags by Hollywood designers Bob Mackie, Michael Travis and Pat Campano -- an expense that surely didn't come easy, even for a successful black record company.
Yet, I'm sure I'm not the only one who secretly wishes that the ladies who currently rule the Billboard charts would take a cue from musical acts of yesteryear by revealing less and showing more of their vocal range (that is, if they have it). Surprisingly, Mary Wilson, one of the founding members of The Supremes, understands this desire to flash some major skin.

Soul legend Bettye Lavette got an early start in music. She made her first album at 16, which is why she's already celebrating her 50th anniversary in recording.
And boy is she celebrating. There's a new album on deck, Thankful N' Thoughtful. The disc features Lavette's reinterpretations of hits by the likes of Bob Dylan, The Black Keys, Neil Young, Gnarls Barkley and many more. Early reviews have lauded her bold reworkings of "I'm Not the One" by the Keys and "Crazy" by Barkley.
But the singer isn't content with just another record. She's also releasing her autobiography (written with David Ritz). Lavette has had quite the colorful life, and she spares no detail or hair-raising experience in A Woman Like Me. The music drops Sept. 25 on Anti-Records, with the book following on Sept. 27 (Blue Rider Press/Penguin).
The singer will also tour the country between September and the end of...

The Girl Who Played With Fire (Music Box Films) Follow up to the hit The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo finds Lisabeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) and Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) joining forces once again as Blomkvist is about to break a story on Sweden’s sex trade, which leads unexpectedly to a dark secret from Elizabeth’s past. Starts off well, then quickly nose-dives into sensationalism and downright silliness, with a pair of villains who are straight out of a Roger Moore-era James Bond film. A real letdown for those of us who felt Dragon Tattoo had finally breathed life into the cinema’s long-stagnant genre of the thriller. Bonuses: English language track; Trailer. Widescreen. Dolby 5.1 surround.
The Killer Inside Me (IFC Films) Michael Winterbottom’s adaptation of Jim Thompson’s classic, and notorious, novel about the psychotic mind of a small town sheriff (Casey Affleck,...

What should the "American Idol" Top 10 sing for the R&B/Soul week? Make your picks here.
Even though Usher kinda spilled the "Idol" mentoring beans over the weekend, it was officially announced during the Wednesday, March 24 results show that he would be mentoring the Top 10 for R&B/Soul week.
We love that R&B/Soul reaches way back into Motown because some of the non-Michael Lynche singers need some oldies thrown in there.
The song list is available here, but here is the whole list:

And if you hate love, even our Love Bites Sing-Along on Valentine’s Day is sold out too.
