Was part of the original 1968 cast of the hit Off-Broadway play,
"The Boys in the Band." In it, he played Alan, the married man who
serves as the main catalyst in the play. Peter and the entire company
transferred their roles brilliantly to the 1970 film version.
American actor known for his clean-cut Ivy League look and
prematurely gray hair whose early career was comprised almost entirely
of legitimate Theatre and Daytime soap work. One heartfelt role was playing Linc Tyler on and off for over thirty years on All My Children (1970).
Attended Northwestern University (1955-1959) and received a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Communications.
Co-starred in the original Broadway production of James Kirkwood's
"P.S. Your Cat is Dead".
Later moved from Daytime to Primetime Television work and then on to major Feature Film projects including "Mother", "Dave", "Thirteen Days", etc.) playing scores of buttoned down executive and politicos, both honorable and deceptively unscrupulous.

production of Brecht's "Galileo" in 1979.
Myrna Loy convinced him to take the role in the stage production of "The Boys In The Band".
