Shocking news this evening. Matthew Perry, the beloved star of TV’s Friends, is dead at 54 after an apparent drowning. The news was first broken by TMZ, which confirmed that the actor was found dead Saturday at his home, the victim of an apparent drowning.
Famous for having played Chandler Bing on Friends, Matthew Perry was one of the biggest stars of the nineties. Before signing on to play the role that would make him a star, Perry was a journeyman sitcom actor, having memorably shown up on Growing Pains, as well as a slew of sitcoms that never lasted. But, good things come to those who wait, with Perry ideally cast as the wisecracking Chandler Bing. The role made him a household name, and Perry was able to parlay his stardom into a series of movie roles, the most memorable of which was probably The Whole Nine Yards, where he starred opposite Bruce Wills.

"[Quentin] wasn’t this revered demigod auteur that he has grown into" the actress explained. "And I wasn’t sure I wanted to do it, because I was worried about the Gimp stuff."2. As for the scenes she was actually in, Uma was most nervous about doing the Twist with John.

So Bruce Wills has outraged Sylvester Stallone because he turned down the offer to shoot four days on "The Expendables 3" in Bulgaria for $3 million. "Uh-hh," said Bruce, in a way that has made his reputation on screen, even in "Expendables" pictures. "If it’s four days I want $4 million." The Hollywood Reporter “Insider” was quoted as saying, “I think Willis was pretty surprised he was replaced in 72 hours by Harrison Ford -- a better actor, a much nicer person and a more interesting direction for the film.”Can we talk?Do we have the remotest idea whether Harrison Ford is “a much nicer person” than Bruce? And do we care? When did anyone mention the topic of “acting” with these films? What sum did Ford take for four days on "The Expendables 3"? Was it $37.50 a day? Was it scale? Was it a beautiful set of Shaker furniture? Was it the original $3 million which,...

Film: "A Good Day To Die Hard"; Actors: Bruce Willis, Jai Courtney, Sebastian Koch, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Yulia Snigir; Director: John Moore; Rating: **1/2
With over-the-top action, crazy car chases and loud blasting action sets, John Moore's "A Good Day To Die Hard" delivers the goods in explosions and destructions. Unfortunately, this franchise, the fifth in the series, deals with secret agent-cum-father-son bonding over gun shots and blasts, which seems more like a twist than a justifiable entry into the "Die Hard" series. Nevertheless, fighting bad guys under impossible odds is the basic outline, and a good one at that!

Stacy Keach (American History X) has signed to play a chief villain in Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. According to the report, Keach will play a mob boss named Wallenquist, described by Miller as "the one man who can't be redeemed in Sin City. He is pure evil." Keach is perfect for the role.
Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is based on the comic created by Miller, from a screenplay written by Academy Award winner William Monahan (The Departed). Bruce Wills, Rosario Dawson, Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Jamie King, Jamie Chung, and Dennis Haysbert.
The plot for Sin City 2 comes from the stories A Dame To Kill For, Just Another Saturday Night, and a new one Miller wrote called The Long, Bad Night, which apparently centers on Alba's character, Nancy Callahan, who will be the connection between the two films.

London, Jan 29: Director Penny Marshall has revealed that she wanted to cast Demi Moore in the lead role of her film 'A League of Their Own' until the actress got pregnant with her second child.
In an interview to Bob Costas, the director said that the 'About Last Night...' star, who was then married to Bruce Wills, was her first choice, but she had to offer the role to Geena Davis, the New York Daily reported.
"Demi Moore I like, but by the time we came around, she was pregnant, so, Bruce [Willis] literally screwed her out of the part," the publication quoted her as saying.

Just about every year, brilliant movies are utterly ignored by the Oscars. The Searchers, Groundhog Day, Breathless, King Kong, Casino Royale, Touch of Evil, Caddyshack, Mean Streets, The Big Lebowski — the Academy has a long history of overlooking comedies, action movies, horror flicks, hard-boiled genre pics, artsy foreign films, and documentaries that aren’t about World War II. This year, we’ll be taking a closer look at films that were too small, too weird, or perhaps simply too awesome for the Academy Awards. These are the Non-Nominees.

So many memorable movies came out this last summer (The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, Prometheus) that it's easy to forget G.I. Joe: Retaliation was supposed to be among them. The release was delayed by Paramount a month before opening in favor of converting the film to 3D, and inserting more Channing Tatum everywhere.
A new international trailer is here today to remind movie fans the G.I. Joe sequel starring The Rock, Bruce Wills, Mr. Tatum and Snake Eyes is no longer an afterthought, it's coming March 29, 2013.

The newest trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation isn’t all that much different from the previous trailers. We still get a brief glimpse of Channing Tatum before he seems to be blown to smithereens. We still witness a winky Bruce Wills as the original G.I. Joe cracking wise about his cholesterol. We still see the city of London go kablooey. And we still have the the pleasure of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson showcasing his terrifying-yet-transfixing biceps. But since the movie was abruptly bumped from its summer 2012 release to March 29, 2013 for a conversion to 3-D, a reshuffled refresher of why...

Time travel is a popular science fiction ploy but although the sub-genre is nominally concerned with ‘scientific possibilities’, its actual preoccupation is different. It is essentially a narrativization of technological, social or political fear.
The very first bit of Sf dealing with time travel was Hg Wells’ novel The Time Machine (1895). Wells was a socialist and he saw class divisions for what they were at the time. In The Time Machine, therefore, mankind has evolved into two different species – the Eloi, who, being descended from the idle upper classes, have become docile beasts. The working class, on the other hand, has developed into a predatory breed the Morlocks, who live underground in the company of the rusted machinery that their ancestors once worked on. At night, the Morlocks come out and feed upon the Eloi because these descendants of the aristocracy are their natural prey.

This weekend, Sylvester Stallone and company return to action in the sequel to "The Expendables" -- conveniently titled "The Expendables 2." There's been a lot of talk this week about just which member of "The Expendables" is the most or least expendable. We thought it would be fun to take a look at a good portion of the team when they were all at their most expendable. You know, back when Stallone was doing soft-core pornography and Bruce Wills was singing the theme song to Seagram's Golden Wine Coolers.
Ahead, a look at the early careers of "The Expendables" cast.

[1] With the strong buzz surrounding his feature debut Chronicle, I've no doubt that director Josh Trank has a bright future ahead of him. But as he plans his next steps, there's one previously rumored project that he's apparently not lined up for, or at least, not yet. In a recent interview, Trank responded to recent reports that he'd emerged as the frontrunner to helm 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four reboot by saying that the stories had been news to him as well. More after the jump. A couple of weeks ago, Variety reported [2] that Fox execs were "high on Chronicle" and simply waiting to see how the movie did in theaters before offering the Fantastic Four gig to Trank. However, when asked about the project by SuperHeroHype [3], Trank gave the following response: I know as much as you guys know. I'm totally serious. I know as much as you... I...

The recent story that Donnie Yen has been offered a part [1] in The Expendables 2 is starting to make a bit more sense. Not that it takes any sort of science to figure out why producers would try to land one of the world's best current action stars for a film that is expressly designed as a showcase for such actors, mind you. But there's a new detail that changes the context just a bit. As financier Nu Image seeks to maximize profit in the booming Chinese movie market, the company is now in talks with a Chinese company to co-finance the film. That would lead to two things. First, some of the film would be shot in China. Second, the rules restricting revenue sharing from imported films wouldn't apply to The Expendables 2, so Nu Image would be able to collect a lot more of the profit made in the country.

Here's something that'll get me into the theater for The Expendables 2 right quick, if it pans out: Donnie Yen, one of the current champion fighters on film, has been offered a role in The Expendables 2. That's according to Twitch [1], which says that producer Avi Lerner offered Yen a "tailor-made" role in the film, which should shoot in October. Yen's own people confirmed the offer, but didn't give any indication of whether he's likely to take it. There is a possibly spoiler-iffic plot recap of The Expendables 2 floating around [2] (the veracity of which has been denied by Sylvester Stallone) but we still don't know what the full cast of the film will be, and that lineup of action personalities will be a lot more important than the plot. The first film was sold entirely on the concept of putting a whole crew of tough guys in one place,...

With director Simon West's Expendables 2 ready to shoot, you'd think we'd hear something about casting right about now. London, Oct 19 – Hollywood actor Bruce Wills is no longer keen to star in films that require him to travel to remote places. He wants now to do easier projects and be surrounded by “good looking women” on the set.
Asked what he will no longer do, he said: “No snow, no boats, no jungles, no desert. Just cake, all the time. And tuxedos. And great-looking women.
“When you have to stand around for snow for weeks at a time and you get cold, it’s all I could do not to burst into tears. I am close to my emotions when it comes to cold weather,” contactmusic.com quoted him as saying.

There’s plenty of guns, violence and one-liners, as we count down the best 12 Hollywood action movies of the 1990s…
What is an action film? That's been the tricky question that we've had to unconvincingly answer before putting this list of titles together.
Personally, I'm a massive fan of the Harrison Ford movie Clear And Present Danger, but have held off including it here because the action moments are few and far between (there's one really good sequence, but not too much else action-wise). And to be fair, one or two of the movies that have made the cut here could have a similar argument at least wafted in their direction. It's not been an easy list to compile.
But the 12 I've picked here - and I've kept it to Hollywood blockbuster flicks - are action movies at heart, even if the accelerator is relaxed for periods within the films chosen.

Los Angeles (AP) — Bruce Willis has filed a countersuit against a team of movie producers who had earlier accused him of breach of contract for backing out of a film project. Bruce Wills and Demi Moore's daughter Rumer is determined to become a Hollywood star in her own right - and show critics she is more than just a "celebrity child".
The 19-year-old is a regular on the Hollywood party circuit, but she insists she isn't just feeding off her parents' fame - and that everyone she meets discovers her extra depth.
She says, "I think when people meet me they're shocked. Because the idea of celebrity children is that they're trust-fund babies that don't have any desire to work and they're just going to ride their parents' train.
"And in some cases that stereotype has proved right. I would hope that after people meet me, they would give me the benefit of the doubt. They're kind of like, 'Wow, you're really much more chill and down-to-earth than I thought you would be.'"
And Willis Jr rejects claims she has had acting roles handed to her because of her famous family, insisting she has had to fight extra battles to become acknowledged as an actress in her own right.
Rumer - who appears in new movie From Within and forthcoming film Wild Cherry - says, "The interesting thing about Hollywood is that everyone has different ways of getting their foot in the door.
