Around the time of a Jewish holiday weekend some time ago, Whitley said she received a call from her agents asking her to give them a definite answer on Fouse’s offer. There wasn’t much time to consider the request as the show was scheduled to begin production the following week.

Summer will come a little early for The CW, with the April return of the musical chairs competition series "Oh Sit!" A surprise [relative] success last summer, "Oh Sit!" will premiere its second season on Monday, April 15 at 8 p.m. Jamie Kennedy and Jessi Cruickshank will be back as hosts, while Tanika Ray will be giving sideline commentary, as 12 lunatics in padding run circles around an increasingly difficult obstacle course trying to win money before the music runs out. Did Oh Sit! hit the fans? Final ratings for the new CW competition series' Wednesday night premiere will be out later today, but the network already plans to air episode two of Oh Sit! tonight at 8/7c (leading into the series premiere of the new singing competition The Next). Oh Sit! — which was originally titled Extreme Musical Chairs, until The CW decided to have some fun with the title — centers on 12 contestants who go through a series of physically challenging obstacle courses to order to claim a chair (as a live band performs). The last player on a chair wins a cash prize. Jamie Kennedy hosts, along with Jessi Cruickshank, with Tanika Ray as the sidelines reporter. Executive producer Phil Gurin (The Singing Bee, Shark Tank) took time to fill out our TV Guide Magazine showrunner survey and explain why Oh Sit! happens.

Oh Sit! Premieres Tonight on TheCW
I'm not afraid to admit that I love ABC's Wipeout, and if you're willing to admit you love it too then you will also love Oh Sit!, which premieres on TheCW tonight at 8pm Et. The press for the show describes it as a game of musical chairs hosted by Jamie Kennedy (The Ghost Whisperer). The truth is it is quite a bit wilder than that, you can say musical chairs is definitely in the DNA of the show but the actual contest is like a slightly polished Wipeout, with big balls that hang instead of rise.

Oh Sit!, The CW's new game show, isn't for the faint of heart. When we talked to the three hosts, Jamie Kennedy, Tanika Ray, and Jessi Cruickshank, they filled us in on what viewers can expect from the grown-up take on musical chairs and what it takes to be a competitor. They also gave us the lowdown on the major musical acts that will be providing the soundtrack for the obstacle course. Oh Sit! premieres tonight on The CW at 8:00/7:00 Central.

Oh Sit! Hosts Jamie Kennedy, Tanika Ray and Jessi Cruickshank Preview The CW’s New “Inappropriate” Game Show
“It’s kind of a metaphor for America: get out of my way or I’ll push you,” host Jamie Kennedy said of The CW’s new musical chairs/obstacle course game show Oh Sit!
“Really the musical chairs is just a gimmick to get the show, but really it’s much more than that. Great bands, a crazy course, crazy competition, great contestants, a lot of drama, a lot of off the cuff comedy, a lot of unscripted nuts,” he continued.
It was a trippy experience to visit the set of Oh Sit!, filmed this summer at a soundstage on the Sony lot in Los Angeles, but we have to imagine hearing the pitch from your agent to come host such a show would be even crazier. Tanika Ray, whose job...

Jamie Kennedy Joins The CW's Game Show Oh Sit!
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that The CW's upcoming extreme musical chairs game show, titled Oh Sit! (no, really), has gained a third voice to help sort out the madness. Joining Tanika Ray (Extra) and Jessi Cruikshank (Virtuality) is Jamie Kennedy, actor and former WB prankster extraordinaire. Kennedy will serve as a commentator on the action with Cruikshank, while Ray will act as a sideline reporter of sorts.
Kennedy, perhaps best known for writing and starring in Malibu's Most Wanted, is no stranger to the "fifth network", having had The Jamie Kennedy Experiment run on The WB for three seasons. He's currently providing voice work for Fox's The Cleveland Show and Nickelodeon's Fanboy and Chum Chum, with two films in post-production.
Even though something like Oh Sit! sounds ridiculous, it could be a great move for The CW. They'll be implementing more year-round programming,...

There was a moment toward the end of Hgtv Design Star‘s Season 6 finale where I had a brief fantasy that the judges panel would get inspired by the recently concluded Glee Project and declare multiple winners. Imagine if they greenlit a show in which Karl conceived sophisticated rooms with daring paint choices, Meg picked out jaunty accessories and explained all of Karl’s various design techniques in her gravelly-perky fashion, and last week’s evictee Mark and His Biceps of Doom built small installations while working up a meaningful sweat. That’s worthy of a series recording slot on my DVR.

I wondered for a hot second if this week’s episode of Hgtv Design Star would end in a Gladiator-style duel to the death. After all, returning judge Candice Olson (who’s been sorely missed all these weeks) seemed to be setting up a swords-and-sandals scenario when she asked our two finalists to turn toward each other, then declared the only thing standing between them and their own TV show was the person standing in front of ‘em.
Thankfully, Meg didn’t pull a shank on Karl, nor did Karl try to garrote Meg. Maybe the two of ‘em were...

If you're like me, Hgtv Design Star managed to sneak up on you recently, and that's because you don't actually watch a whole lot of Hgtv. And, if you're like me, now that we have two episodes gone, you're really missing Clive Pearse. Nothing against new host Tanika Ray, although if you look at the show's homepage and try to find her (down on the left with a tiny picture), you may get the impression they know Design Star without Clive just feels weird.
At any rate, we just had the White Box episode, and it has proven to be the measuring stick it always is. Some designers still manage, somehow, to make utterly boring rooms, and some stood out as the ones to watch. It's always been the episode where viewers find out who they want to cheer on for the rest of the show, and who is going...

Hgtv Design Star brought back its iconic white-box challenge for Monday night’s episode, and while a few contestants filled their blank-canvases with dazzling colors, funky textures, and outrageous furnishings, others collapsed under the hefty freedom of being able to work with no boundaries.
Okay, maybe “no boundaries” isn’t the right term. For one thing, it conjures up memories of the lamest American Idol victory anthem in the show’s 10-season history. And secondly, the designers did, in fact, have to work with a few ground rules: They were allowed to use as much — or as little — of the...

The first episode of Design Star's sixth season ended with a surprise: the show has finally started showing the judges' deliberation, so we know why they are making decisions. It's a miracle! That isn't difficult, but the show has stubbornly refused to show us the judges' deliberations for years, instead cutting between disconnected footage of the designers and judges' comments about various designs. But now, new host Tanika Ray (she's good, but I still miss...

After five seasons, the formula for Hgtv's 'Design Star' could get a little stale. Could being the operative word -- thank goodness it didn't!
On tonight's Season 6 premiere (9Pm Et on Hgtv), you'll notice a few show shake-ups -- including a move to Monday nights -- before meeting a new crop of 12 ultra-talented and very diverse designers, including a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader/breast cancer survivor and a five-time Emmy-winning New York TV news reporter.
The judging panel will look the same -- Hgtv mainstays Genevieve Gorder, Candice Olson and Vern Yip are back -- but 'Design Star' has a brand new host and a weekly design mentor who happens to have a very familiar face. Tanika Ray ('Hgtv'd') takes over hosting duties, while David Bromstad, the very first 'Design Star' winner, returns to mentor the current crop of contestants.

'Design Star' is back for Season 6 (premieres Mon., July 11, 9Pm Et on Hgtv), with 12 talented designers vying for their own Hgtv show.
We love the reality competition for the innovative designs, shopping meltdowns and the heated style debates, but we also adore the banter between judges Genevieve Gorder, Candice Olson and Vern Yip.
This season, they're adding a few new twists, with previous 'Design Star' winner and current host of 'Color Splash' David Bromstad acting as a mentor for the wannabe TV designers, and 'Hgtv'd' host Tanika Ray doing host duty here as well.
But we've got a nice bonus for the show's fans as well: we're giving away a $100 American Express Gift Card to one lucky reader, courtesy of Hgtv's 'Design Star.'
