Fans of Amy Schumer might be experiencing deja vu now that the comedian is denying accusations that she steals jokes, because she defended herself against similar claims three months ago. Stand-up comics Wendy Liebman, Kathleen Madigan and Tammy Pescatelli recently took to Twitter to complain that Schumer uses other comedians’ jokes in her own act. Schumer responded that she would take a polygraph test to prove that she would never intentionally steal a joke. However, in October, a TMZ crew approached Schumer outside an airport and asked about accusations that she lifted material from late comedian Patrice O’Neal. Back then,...

Tammy Pescatelli has apologized for accusing Amy Schumer of stealing jokes, and admits she “went too deep.” “I own it. I said it. I went too deep,” Pescatelli said during a visit to the “Opie with Jim Norton Show” on Thursday. “It went too far, and for that, I’m super apologetic.” “I was the last to the party, and I drank the most and I was the loudest,” Pescatelli added. “I probably should’ve just kind of stayed out of it and kept my mouth shut. I shouldn’t have accused somebody.” Also Read: Amy Schumer to Take Polygraph to Prove She Doesn't Steal.

Gotta hand it to her, Amy's plan to prove her innocence should boost ratings on her Comedy Central TV show too. That's how ya bank on a conspiracy.

Comedienne Amy Schumer has fired back at reports suggesting she has stolen jokes from her peers.

Meanwhile, Pescatelli tweeted an example of an alleged rip-off, which featured in Schumer's 2015 HBO special, writing, "So many more but nobody listens... at least (Bill) Cosby knocked his victims out b4 (before) he raped them," - responding to the sex scandal spinning around the veteran comedian.

Yesterday a video was released unanimously that compared Amy Schumer’s comedy routines to other comedians out there. Schumer quickly disputed the claims on Twitter. She also let viewers know on the Jim Norton Advice Show know that the claims were false. The video compares some of Schumer’s standup, sketch, and movie work to footage of comics Wendy Liebman, Patrice O’Neal, Kathleen Madigan, and Tammy Pescatelli with the intent of showing that Schumer stole from these earlier routines. After a recent video surfaced comparing Amy Schumer's material to other comedians' work, Schumer went on Jim Norton's SiriusXM Radio show today to deny any allegations of joke theft. "I wanted to come and talk to you about [these accusations] and clear my name, because I would never ever do that and I never have," the comedian said, adding that she is "literally going to take a polygraph test and put it on my show this season."The video collects allegations — some of which surfaced this weekend, others older — that Schumer copied material from Patrice O'Neal, Tammy Pescatelli, Kathleen Madigan, and Wendy Liebman. Talking to Norton, Schumer said that she had not seen any of their jokes before she performed her own and that any similarities were a result of parallel thinking, not plagiarism. She previously addressed similarities between O'Neal's punchline and a line from her stand-up special on Twitter last fall.

"The idea was comedy for women, but it's not like a 'Cathy' cartoon; it's way hipper."
That's how "The Office" star Kate Flannery describes her new all-female stand-up show, "StandUp In Stilettos," coming to the TV Guide Network this month. The show's 12 episodes will feature 36 women, three per episode, performing comedy in front of a live audience. Flannery hopes the easily digestible segments will expose the Guide's browsers to quality comedy of the female variety.

New York — Toni Braxton is the latest celebrity to open her home to reality television cameras.
Braxton, the Grammy-winning singer of "Un-Break My Heart" and "You're Makin' Me High," will appear in "Braxton Family Values" on the We network starting in April. Braxton's sisters – Traci, Towanda, Trina and Tamar – are all aspiring singers.
The We network appeals chiefly to women, and with Oprah Winfrey's new Own network going on the air last weekend, it is looking to sharpen its focus for viewers. The network said it will emphasize programs that feature families.
We executives said they will also renew the series "Downsized," about a family struggling through tough economic times. "Staten Island Cakes," which is repetitive of other cable reality programs about high-end bakers, will debut this summer. The show is about a 21-year-old baker whose mother and sister work for him – and who is bossed by them at home.

MONTREAL -- On the 25th anniversary of the Just for Laughs comedy festival, it comes as no surprise that performers and other industry folks are reminiscing about the changing industry and their experiences in this host city.
"It's been fascinating for me to watch comedy grow over the years," JFL chief operating officer Bruce Hills said on the eve of his 22nd festival. "In my first year here, comedy was a (small) nightclub business. Now it is big."
And while in the old days Bill Cosby and a handful of other select names could draw a crowd, "there are now many strong niches" and talent to fill demand in them, he added.
Talent is exactly what a whole slew of industry folks saw in Tammy Pescatelli when she appeared in the festival's annual New Faces showcase of up-and-comers in 2002.
Although she had several years of comedy experience at the time, she had no manager or agent. Gersh quickly signed her, and Pescatelli has since been a successful tour comic, appeared on the "Tonight Show" and "Last Comic Standing", among other TV shows, and will be seen in two films this fall.
"It's just been amazing", Pescatelli said as she prepared for her third JFL, which began Wednesday. "The festival really jump-started my career."
But she said she wants to continue to show Montreal -- and other places, for that matter -- how she has evolved as a performer. "It's now five years after my first show at the festival, and I have a lot of different material," she said.
