The previous teasers for The Blackcoat's Daughter director Osgood Perkins' next feature, Longlegs, have been very effective in building an aura of unsettling dread around the mysterious horror flick, but this latest trailer really takes things to another level.
Though the movie is still playing things relatively close to the chest when it comes to revealing specific plot details, this footage does give us a little more to go on, as rookie FBI agent Lee Harker (It Follows star Maika Monroe) becomes obsessed with tracking down a sadistic serial killer (Nicolas Cage) who targets families - and might just have supernatural abilities.
Harker has a personal connection to the killer (did she survive an earlier attack?), which leads her down an even darker path and into the world of the Occult.
Say your prayers, check out the new trailer and poster below along with the initial social media reactions, and...

Too often, film trailers tend to give the whole game away. But clearly Osgood Perkins — son of Psycho star Anthony Perkins and director of underrated chiller Gretel & Hansel — didn't get the memo. His latest, Nicolas Cage and Maika Monroe-starring occult serial killer chiller Longlegs, has enjoyed an unnerving slew of cryptic teasers and promo posters — and the latest is no different. Check out the new trailer for the film below;
"Is it scary being a lady FBI agent?" an inquisitive kid asks Maika Monroe's (It Follows) Lee Harker. "Yeah," Lee replies. And honestly, on present evidence, that's fair. With its The Silence Of The Lambs-esque combo of crime-thriller procedural and out-and-out horror flourishes, this first full trailer for Perkins' latest has us all kinds of creeped out. From Nicolas Cage's whisper-voiced, straggly-haired weirdo killer, to the satanic symbology and fly-infested crime scenes glimpsed, to the jaundiced Zodiac-esque palette of the whole thing,...

Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage star in summer horror movie Longlegs, and a full trailer for the film has landed. Here…
We reported last week that the full trailer for Osgood Perkins’ Longlegs had emerged in US cinemas and made its way onto social media. Well, US distibutor Neon has now released the full trailer online and it seems to differ from the one that leaked on social media.
Take a look at the full trailer below:
Well, that was rather creepy. Osgood Perkins has been creating a steady reputation as the master of dread with his previous films, but Longlegs looks like it takes that creep-factor to a whole new level.
Nicolas Cage is said to be playing the titular serial killer that Maika Monroe’s FBI agent is hunting and we certainly hear him in the trailer, but we haven’t actually got a look of him yet.

If there's one thing that actor Maika Monroe is going to do, it's put on a brilliant performance in a critically-acclaimed horror movie that's destined to be underseen and underappreciated by most of the general moviegoing public at large. The scream queen's first real breakthrough role came in 2014's "The Guest" and she wasted no time following that up with "It Follows" (which is receiving a sequel with the original cast reprising their roles), 2022's criminally underrated "Watcher," and the Paramount+ original "Significant Other."
This time, however, the star is backed up by none other than Nicolas Cage and actor-turned-director Oz Perkins on "Longlegs" in the hopes that audiences will be right on time to appreciate whatever scares and compelling imagery await. This latest horror feature comes with a fair amount of hype behind it, with previous trailers setting the stage for an occult thriller with one heck of an unsettling sense of atmosphere.

Nicolas Cage just might be the most terrifying serial killer onscreen…if he really is the murderer.
Cage stars in and produces “Longlegs,” the latest horror film from writer/director Oz Perkins who previously helmed “The Blackcoat’s Daughter” (2015), “I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House” (2016), and “Greta and Hansel” (2020).
Perkins, the son of “Psycho” star Anthony Perkins, is officially credited as Osgood Perkins for “Longlegs.” The film is produced by Cage’s Saturn Pictures, Range, Traffic, Oddfellows, and C2 Motion Picture Group. Actress
The feature centers on a series of occult murders that are connected to an FBI detective’s (Maika Monroe) past. A cold case is reawakened; Cage, Blair Underwood, and Alicia Witt co-star in the film.
Cage previously teased his role in a conversation with horror icon John Carpenter for Document Journal. The Oscar winner hinted that his character might be the killer as he...

Oddly enough, Marilyn Monroe and Madonna became part of each other’s mythos — Monroe paved the way for Madonna, while Madonna made sure Monroe was still a big part of American popular culture. Madonna explained why she mimicked Monroe in the “Material Girl” music video. Interestingly, Monroe was not the only star from the 1950s and 1960s to inspire the “Like a Prayer” singer’s style.
‘Material Girl’ era Madonna said she was ‘attracted to’ aspects of Marilyn Monroe
The “Material Girl” music video is a recreation of Monroe singing “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” from the campy musical Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. According to the book Madonna: An Intimate Biography, Madonna explained her idea for the clip. “Marilyn was made into something not human in a way, and I can relate to that,” she said. “Her sexuality was something everyone was obsessed with, and that I can relate to.

Noemie Merlant’s sophomore feature “The Balconettes” plays as a raunchy horror-comedy with a greater social conscience. The film follows three roommates – an actress, played by Merlant, a camgirl played by “Dune: Part Two” breakout Souheila Yacoub and a frustrated writer played Sanda Condreanu – who are initially infatuated and eventually repelled by a lothario neighbor from across the yard. Exploring questions of coercion and consent with a healthy dose of blood and guts, “The Balconettes” wants to entertain and energize in equal measure.
Variety spoke with the filmmaker ahead of her film’s world premiere in Cannes.
How did this film come about?
Four years ago, I found myself escaping from a daily life that was suffocating. I went to live with women, with friends of mine, including Sanda Codreanu, who stars in the film. This was the first time I’d lived with other women, and the first time...

Superstar Marilyn Monroe passed away in 1962, but her legacy lives on in the form of several classic movies that still hold up today. The actor and model appeared in plenty of great films across her lifetime, including several that have only grown in public estimation since their release. Among the best: crowd pleasers like "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes," "The Seven Year Itch," and "How To Marry A Millionaire," plus stone-cold classics "Some Like It Hot" and "All About Eve."
Surprisingly, though, Monroe's most popular and obviously beloved movies aren't actually her most acclaimed –- at least according to one major metric. Only one of the films she appeared in during her too-short lifetime has a perfect critical score on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, and it's not any of the titles listed above. Instead, that coveted 100% score goes to "Don't Bother To Knock," a comparatively underseen thriller Monroe starred in...

Madonna and Marilyn Monroe would be compared to each other no matter what, simply because they are two of the biggest female celebrities ever. On the other hand, some fans claim that the similarity between the Material Girl and the Some Like It Hot star goes deeper than that. Madonna’s brother, Christopher Ciccone, had a different take on the situation.
Madonna’s brother said she’s not ‘self-destructive’ like Marilyn Monroe
Monroe’s influence can be seen throughout Madonna’s career. The “Like a Virgin” singer based her video for “Material Girl” on a scene from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, one of Monroe’s most famous films. Monroe is also one of several Hollywood stars mentioned in the lyrics of “Vogue.” The cover of Madonna’s greatest hits album Celebration is also based on Monroe, and the singer appropriated a famous sequence from The Seven Year Itch for her “Give Me All Your Luvin'” clip.

Madonna‘s “Material Girl” music video helped her meet Sean Penn. It also caused fans to compare her to another famous blonde. The Queen of Pop’s brother said that Madonna’s fans drew false conclusions from that music video.

In his 2008 book Life With My Sister Madonna, Christopher Ciccone gave fans some fascinating insight into the “Material Girl” video shoot. “On the LA set of the ‘Material Girl’ video, as Madonna is sashaying down a staircase, decked out in a fuchsia satin replica of the Travilla gown Marilyn wore in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, she comes face-to-face with hot actor Sean Penn,” he wrote. “He is 24, she is 26, their birthdays are just one day apart, and — for both of them — it is love at first sight.

Considering how much build-up Longlegs has had – with the stream of teasers, posters and symbols – the horror film had a lot to live up to, at least how it was being marketed. Fortunately for the involved parties, Longlegs looks to be one of the horror flicks to see so far this year, with most praising it for being an unnerving work that features stellar performances and channels The Silence of the Lambs.
Check out some of the early reviews of Longlegs below:

Horror fans have been keeping a very close eye on director Osgood Perkins' next project, and the first social media reactions for the mysterious Longlegs are in.
These reactions are highly positive, and it sounds like the movie is a genuinely disturbing, terrifying experience.
Though Longlegs definitely seems to be keeping its biggest secrets firmly under wraps for the time being (and the teasers are all the better for it), we do know that the plot revolves around a rookie FBI agent (It Follows star Maika Monroe) attempting to track down a sadistic serial killer (Nicolas Cage) who targets families.
Cage's character has largely been kept out of the marketing, aside from one unsettling shot.
Check out the social media posts below, and keep an eye out for a new trailer.

Have the Kardashians been “snubbed” from the Met Gala after spending years on the A-List? Over time, the family rotated who would go but there were staples always making appearances. So, what is going on in 2024? Keep reading for more details.
The Kardashians ‘Snubbed’ From Met Gala After Years On A-List?
Though the ensembles have not always been the best, the KarJenner family has been ones to watch when it comes to the Met Gala. For Kim Kardashian, she went to great lengths for the 2022 Met. She donned Marilyn Monroe’s iconic gold dress and showed how hard she had to work out in order to fit into it. Though she maintained she was a “shapeshifter,” this dress was tailor-made for Monroe. Therefore, nothing could be done for Kim when the dress did not seamlessly slide right up.

Remember Quibi? The short-lived streaming service-turned-punchline, which vastly overestimated how many people felt compelled to watch bite-sized shows and movies on their phones, seems to have done one thing right before being folded into the Roku Channel: allowing creators to retain ownership of their work after a two-year exclusivity window. Not content to let her 13-part thriller series “The Stranger” disappear along with the platform on which it debuted, “The Killing” creator Veena Sud recut the project into a feature film alongside editor Philip Fowler. Gone are the 8-minute episodes named after the hour in which they take place (beginning with 7 p.m. and ending at 7 a.m.), replaced by a 98-minute Hulu feature that shows no sign of having been overhauled.

In 1973, Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia fulfilled a longtime dream when he formed the bluegrass supergroup known as Old & In the Way. For the rock & roller, circling back to his acoustic roots was more than just scratching a creative itch — it was a spiritual calling.

Joan Collins, now 90, has had a storied movie and television career. She rose to fame in 1952 after appearing in the British film I Believe In You. Collins moved her career to the United States, believing that after several years in the British film industry, she had a handle on how the business worked. After a serendipitous meeting with Marilyn Monroe over martinis, Joan Collins learned she had underestimated just how predatory Hollywood was. In a recently published essay, Collins recalled the chance encounter with Marilyn Monroe and how she warned her about the dark side of Hollywood.
Joan Collins said Marilyn Monroe warned her about the Hollywood ‘wolves’
Joan Collins penned an article for The Daily Mail earlier this month. In the article, the starlet opened up about the predatory nature of Hollywood and exactly how she learned about it. She said she met Marilyn Monroe when she was new to the scene.

Marilyn Monroe’s estate has been saved by the City of Los Angeles.
Monroe, who purchased her only property in 1962, died at her Brentwood house at age 36 the same year. The house is a 2,624-square-foot Spanish-style four-bedroom home, which the “Seven Year Itch” actress bought for $77,500 following her divorce from playwright Arthur Miller in February 1962.
Monroe’s house was purchased by the Glory of the Snow LLC in 2017 for $7.25 million; a trust of the same name bought the property for $8.35 million in July 2023 and filed for a Department of Building and Safety demolition permit to tear it down.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the Los Angeles City Council intervened after the demolition permit was granted September 5. The Council meeting September 8 voted unanimously to suspend the permit and preserve the home.

Los Angeles officials block destruction of property where movie star died, and consider it for historic preservation
The final home of Marilyn Monroe – and the only residence she ever owned independently – will remain standing for now after Los Angeles officials intervened to block the property’s demolition.
The news that the new owners of 12305 Fifth Helena Drive, where Monroe died at age 36, filed for demolition permits had attracted widespread outrage. Los Angeles city councilwoman Traci Park said she received hundreds of calls urging her to save the Spanish colonial-style house in the city’s Brentwood neighborhood.

At the eleventh hour, the Los Angeles City Council approved a motion to save Marilyn Monroe’s former LA-area home from demolition for now, declaring it a historic cultural monument.
The 12-0 vote came Friday in the emergency motion introduced by Councilwoman Traci Park, whose 11th District includes Monroe’s former Brentwood home.
“Unfortunately, the Department of Building and Safety issued a demolition permit before my team and I could fully intervene and get this issue resolved,” Park said in a news conference on Friday.
Park said the house was sold in July and the new owners recently filed a request to have it demolished.
Following the vote, the Department of Building and Safety issued an official notice to “stop construction,” as well a “notice of intent to revoke” the permit for the demolition of Monroe’s home.

Built in Brentwood in 1929, Marilyn Monroe’s last home is set to be torn down, according to media reports. The current owner is in the early stages of having Monroe’s one-story Spanish colonial hacienda-style home demolished as its landmark status remains in limbo. But the L.A. Department of Building and Safety has yet to issue a formal grant, according to reports from outlets including the L.A. Times.
Monroe bought the home in 1962 for $75,000 — its current owner purchased it for $7.25 million.
Despite its clear significance to Hollywood history, the four-bedroom and three-bathroom-home wasn’t previously nominated to be given landmark status, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Department of City Planning told the L.A. Times. However, a 2013 evaluation of the home identified it as “potentially significant for its association with Marilyn Monroe” and an eligibility list noted that “more research” was needed.

Harmony Korine teased upcoming Venice premiere “Aggro Dr1ft” in Locarno, where he picked up the Pardo d’onore Manor award for outstanding achievement in cinema.
“I am excited. I have never made anything like it. I was trying not to make a movie. I don’t know if it will be a scandal, but it will be its own statement,” he said.
“Aggro Dr1ft” stars Spain’s Jordi Molla and Travis Scott. Korine has already worked with Scott on “Circus Maximus” – as well as his friend Gaspar Noé, surprise guest at the fest, who ended up co-moderating his Saturday masterclass.
“It was pretty wild. It was crazy!,” said Korine about the “last-minute” collab with Scott, also opening up about his humble beginnings.
“I grew up in Nashville, I was born into a commune. My dad made strange documentaries about Southern moonshiners and circus people, and then he sold some weed.

Howard Hawks’ eye-catching comedy sees the actor at the height of her talents in a tale with more depth and intellect than even its director knew
Last year’s Marilyn Monroe biopic Blonde broke up its parade of visceral suffering heaped upon the woman born Norma Jeane Mortenson with an acknowledgement of one injustice not of the physically invasive persuasion.
We learn that while working on Howard Hawks’ superlative Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (which turns 70 years old this weekend), she received a paltry rate of $500 a week, while her comparatively better-known co-45star Jane Russell raked in a sum-total fee in the amount of $200,000. On this point, director Andrew Dominik clearly conveys his thesis that the industry used and abused a woman ill-equipped to advocate for herself, and for once, he does it without joining in on that which he purports to critique by lavishing punishments upon star Ana de Armas.

“So, here’s the thing that I know everyone wants to argue with me about — but he makes his own schedule. He can show up every day, when he stops from work. He can come at night. So, he’s here every week, and especially when he’s home, he’s here,” Tiesi said. “So, it’s not a set schedule, we don’t have to plan things, but he’s very present and he’s at anything and everything I ask him to be at. So, I’m very happy. He’s very supportive.

On June 7, Alba and Warren posted sentimental tributes for their teenager to mark her big day. "15 years ago, baby girl Honor Marie Warren made me a mama," Alba captioned a photo montage of Honor through the years. In the city to perform at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, he was assaulted while taking a smoke break outside a hotel.
