Becky G has been tapped to join the 2024 Latin American Music Awards ceremony as a host and performer.
The Mexican-American singer will serve as a host for the show, airing April 25 on Univision and its sibling networks, alongside previously announced talents Alejandra Espinoza, an actor and presenter; Carlos Ponce, a singer-songwriters and TV personality; and singer Thalia.
Becky G also will perform her new song, “Mercedes,” during the 2024 Latin AMAs alongside Mexican music artist Oscar Maydon, who is featured on the track. Becky G, who has won a total of eight Latin AMAs over her career, is nominated this year for best collaboration, urban, for “Arranca,” featuring Omega.
“Hosting and performing at the Latin AMAs, just after releasing ‘Mercedes,’ feels like stepping into a whirlwind of excitement and creativity,” Becky G said. “It’s a celebration of past achievements and future aspirations, all wrapped up into a vibrant event that honors nuestra música.

Recently, the masterminds behind reggaeton's biggest stars and hitmakers have been coming into their own as artists. Last year, music producer Dímelo Flow released his debut album, "Always Dream." In June, producer Tainy also dropped his debut album, "Data." And now, Sky Rompiendo (real name Alejandro Ramírez Suárez) - one of the most in-demand Latin music producers of the past decade and the genius behind artists like J Balvin, Karol G, Maluma, and Feid - is shifting his focus from working behind the scenes to creating his own record. It's a move that has been long in the making, but for Rompiendo, the timing has been everything.
"I was inspired by all these producers like Pharrell, Timbaland, and Scott Storch - that whole movement of them eventually putting their faces up front and being more present in the scene versus not just always being behind the scenes," Rompiendo tells Popsugar.

We live in a world where we're constantly discouraged from following our dreams - we're taught we're better off letting them go to pursue more practical ambitions. Sometimes these voices come from our parents; sometimes they come from other relatives, friends, even teachers and mentors. Eventually, they start coming from us. It wasn't until Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Paopao, born Paola Nicole Marrero Rodríguez, finally stopped listening to those voices - putting her fears and excuses aside - that she was able to make her dreams of being a music artist happen.

Things are getting hawt. On Thursday, Karol G celebrated the start of a new album era — which she’d teased when she dyed her signature blue hair a bright red color earlier this year— by releasing the fiery single “Gatúbela,” featuring Maldy, and its sexy, perreo-filled video.
The Pedro Artola-directed video opens with the Colombian singer looking at herself in a restroom mirror surrounded by fellow bichotas. She then steps into a steamy corridor, where couples are seen perreando, and joins an orgy-like dance pile.

Prince Royce wants to know what his ex will say about him on new song, “Si Te Preguntan.” On Thursday, the bachata heartthrob enlisted Nicky Jam and Jay Wheeler for a heavyweight collaboration.
“You know how it is with relationships, people say, ‘Hey, don’t don’t talk too much smack,’ because sometimes they get back together and it’s like, ‘Damn, bro he was talking mad crap about and now they’re back,’ ” Royce tells Rolling Stone about the song.

In his own quiet way, Panamanian singer-songwriter Sech is taking the Latin pop world by storm. The 25-year-old began his soft takeover in April, with his now Latin Grammy-nominated debut, Sueños, or Dreams. By deftly fusing reggaeton and R&b — or as he puts it, lending the urban genre “un flow sensual” — Sech has become one of the most sought-after vocalists in Spanish-language music. Shortly after the release of Sueños, he’s made striking cameos in songs by established superstars, like Ozuna, Maluma, and Becky G. And yet, the urbano...
