The All American universe is returning to The CW very soon.
While audiences will have to wait a few more months until they catch up with the students at Bringston University on All American: Homecoming, production is in full swing on the upcoming 13-episode season.
Showrunner Nkechi Okoro Carroll teased to Deadline during All American‘s 100th episode party that they are currently shooting “what might be one of my favorite episodes of the season.”
“It is sort of a tribute to my love of rom coms [and] my love of beautiful, slow-evolving relationship movies and dramas where we’re just centered around two characters in one day in their life over the course of this episode, and I’m just so incredibly excited,” she said.

All American: Homecoming: Season Three; Several CW Series Regulars to Have Reduced Roles for 2023-24
In May, All American: Homecoming was renewed by The CW for a third season, but the renewal came with some concessions. The series faces budget cuts, so some series regulars will have reduced roles in the upcoming episodes.
All American: Homecoming is a spin-off of All American, which The CW also renewed for the 2023-24 broadcast season. The series follows students attending Bringston University, a highly competitive Hbcu (Historically Black Colleges and Universities) in Atlanta.
Deadline reports that Geffri Maya, Sylvester Powell, Netta Walker, and Mitchell Edwards will return as full series regulars for season three.
However, viewers will likely be seeing less of Cory Hardrict, Rhoyle Ivy King, Peyton Alex Smith, and Kelly Jenrette. Hardrict and Ivy have a reduced episode guarantee, so they'll most likely appear in fewer...

As budget cuts hit The CW's returning original programming, several stars will not be on the shows next season as series regulars.
All American: Homecoming is the latest show to announce its changes ahead of next season.
According to Deadline, Peyton Alex Smith, who plays Damon Sims on the series, will not be back as a series regular.
If you watch All American: Homecoming online, you know Damon has been pivotal since All American: Homecoming Season 1 Episode 1.
While casting changes were expected, it's surprising Smith is one of the actors to have their contract changed.
There's no confirmation whether the actor will stage a comeback in a recurring or guest capacity.
Time will tell, but hopefully, he will appear on-screen to wrap up Damon's storyline if the actor decides against accepting the contract.
Additionally, Kelly Jenrette, who plays Bringston University president Amara Patterson, will return as a recurring player.

Main stars Geffri Maya, Sylvester Powell, Mitchell Edwards, and Netta Walker will all be returning as full-fledged series regulars. The status of fellow cast member Camille Hyde is not yet known. Despite Beyoncé’s popularity, not all of Sweden’s citizens may have appreciated her recent visit to Stockholm last month.
Queen Bey is reportedly partly blamed for the high inflation rates during her Renaissance tour, which began on May 10.
During her time there, fans from all over the world took advantage of the cheaper concert tickets that Sweden had to offer compared to the U.S. prices. Reports say that the average tickets for her Rennaisance tour in Sweden were $200, while fans in the U.S. were looking at an average of $700 a ticket.
The influx of visitors in Sweden last month apparently increased the inflation rate by 9.7% from 2022.
Economist Michael Grahn of Danske Bank doesn’t totally blame Beyoncé for the rise in inflation, though. Still, he told The New York Times that “her performance and global demand to see her perform in Sweden apparently added a little to it.

“The Sex Lives of College Girls” co-creator Justin Noble wants to center “four girls fall[ing] in love together as friends” — ensuring their love lives don’t dominate the plot, and instead focusing on the friendships, passions and identity crises that make up the college experience for many.
“Despite the title, the show is about four strangers who live together and become the loves of each other’s lives over time,” Noble told TheWrap about Season 2. “I think that’s what a lot of college experience is for many people, especially those who get lucky and love their roommates.”
While the friends return to Essex after Thanksgiving break with their community more cemented than when they first arrived on campus just a couple months before, the sophomore season has raised the stakes as each character, from Kimberly’s struggle to come up with full tuition after losing her scholarship to Whitney...

“All American: Homecoming” breakout Rhoyle Ivy King began his journey in a one-off capacity on The CW show’s backdoor pilot and quickly graduated to recurring guest star and eventually series regular in Season 2 after blowing away creator Nkechi Okoro Carroll during their initial audition. Since then, the actor has encompassed the show’s pathos through their depiction of Nathaniel (aka Nate), a nonbinary Bringston University student who channels a certain “Legally Blonde” energy in her commitment to both the law track and maintaining an impeccable fashion sense.
“The biggest thing for me is about breaking down the stereotypes of how queer characters are represented,” King told TheWrap in an interview. “It’s always about serving looks, always being bold and always slaying and giving. And while Nate does that, the most important aspect about her to me … is making sure that we really start to establish a young professional.

The “All American” characters are in for some changes when The CW show premieres its fifth season Oct. 10, with a theme of “phoenix rising from the ashes,” showrunner and executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll told TheWrap as part of our Fall TV Preview.
But before we get into what’s ahead, let’s remind ourselves where we left off: When we last saw the “All American” crew, our favorite characters were experiencing the bittersweet growing pains and freedoms that came with being first-semester freshmen in college. Spencer (Daniel Ezra) and Liv (Samantha Logan), rock-solid in their long-gestating will-they-won’t-they relationship, were left at odds amid his budding athletic standing as a starting freshman and her goals as an investigative journalist looking to expose Golden Angels University head Coach Garrett’s (Sean Carrigan) seedy past.
But they weren’t the only ones experiencing change: Coop (Bre-z) was on the precipice of...

With the end of The CW's licensing deal with Netflix, All American: Homecoming was poised to head to HBO Max.
The series was initially set to premiere on the latter last month, but the series never materialized on the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streamer.
Now, we have a definite answer about what's happening to the drama series.
According to What's On Netflix, All American: Homecoming has been added to the Netflix library, joining the parent series All American.
Since the conclusion of the Netflix streaming deal with The CW, no new CW shows have gone to Netflix.
Instead, shows like Katy Keene, Batwoman, and Nancy Drew all landed on HBO Max in an attempt to shore up the content roster on the relatively new streaming service.
The original All American performs very well for Netflix, so there was clearly an incentive in being the streaming home to the show.

“Dark Winds,” the period crime-thriller series starring Zahn McClarnon (“Reservation Dogs”), has been renewed for a second season at AMC and AMC+.
Season 1, which premiered June 12, garnered 2.2 million viewers in Nielsen live+3 ratings, becoming the No. 5 cable drama premiere of the current broadcast TV season. The show is also the No. 1 new series launch in AMC+ history and holds a 100 critics rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The AMC Studios-produced series, which will return next year with another 6-episode installment, follows two Navajo police officers — Joe Leaphorn (McClarnon) and Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) — in the 1970s who reckon with a series of seemingly unrelated crimes that bring up their own personal demons. Jessica Matten also stars.

Rhoyle Ivy King, who played nonbinary character Nathaniel Hardin in 10 out of 13 episodes in the first season of “All American: Homecoming,” has been upped to series regular for Season 2, The CW confirmed to TheWrap on Tuesday.
The “All American” spinoff, which stars Geffri Maya and Peyton Alex Smith, is set at fictional historically Black college Bringston. Nathaniel — a prelaw student and stylist on the series— uses she/her pronouns, while King uses he/him/they.
“Promoting Rhoyle to a series regular this season was an absolute no brainer. He stole our hearts with his talent and joie de vivre the minute he stepped into that audition,” said executive producer Nkechi Okoro Carroll. “Bringston would not be the same without Nathaniel.”

Exclusive: We’ll be seeing more of Nathaniel Hardin in the second season of All American: Homecoming. Rhoyle Ivy King, who heavily recurred as the character in Season 1, has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming season.
A spinoff of CW’s All American, written by Nkechi “Nk” Okoro, Season 2 will continue to delve into the lives of students and athletes at a distinguished Hbcu, and the struggles these young adults face while trying to find their footing.
King’s Nathaniel is the non-binary, gender-fluid personification of fly Af. Equally masculine and feminine, Nate brings another kind of hustle to Bringston that isn’t found on a field or court – she’s a pre-law student, a thriving stylist and loyal above all. Her friends are her world, particularly her besties Simone (Geffri Maya )and Keisha (Netta Walker). The series also stars Mitchell Edwards (Cam Watkins), Peyton ‘Alex’ Smith (Damon...

Rhoyle Ivy King is making history as The CW's first Black nonbinary character, Nathaniel, on the new series, All American: Homecoming.
King, who uses he/him/they pronouns, impressed series creator Nkechi Okoro Carroll so much that she expanded the role of Nathaniel Hardin, who now appears in 10 of the 13 episodes.
TV Fanatic chatted with King about breaking barriers as the first Black and nonbinary character on The CW, his love of fashion, and working with Beyonce's Ivy Park.
Tell us how you blew everyone away at auditions of All American: Homecoming.
Thank you. Nkechi was too kind with that comment and helped make sure Nathaniel was portrayed honestly.
But I was particular with how I wanted the character to be presented in the audition. I put in a lot of work to ensure I gave what I thought was honest.
That is excellent. What has it been like playing...

When she auditioned actors for “All: American: Homecoming,” the college spinoff of The CW’s “All American,” series creator Nkechi Okoro Carroll only had a few lines for nonbinary character Nathaniel until Rhoyle Ivy King, who uses he/him/they pronouns, “murdered” the audition. Carroll quickly expanded the role and now Nathaniel appears in 10 out of 13 episodes of the drama, which premieres Monday on The CW.
The series stars Geffri Maya as Simone Hicks, a promising tennis star from Beverly Hills, whose new friends at fictional Hbcu Bringston University include Nathaniel (King) and Keisha (Netta Walker), both of whom are queer.
Carroll hadn’t set out to create the network’s first Black nonbinary character – The CW’s first nonbinary character was Evan Blake, played by Lincoln Clauss, on “Batwoman” – but now Nathaniel is one of her favorites.
