The “Big Brother 23” houseguests won’t move into the house until next week, but you can meet them all now in the gallery above. As promised by Tptb, the 16 houseguests are all new — and they include a flight attendant, a farmer, a forensic scientist and a phlebotomist, Gold Derby has learned.
This cast is very young, ranging in age from 21 to 40. Of the 16, 12 are in their 20s, including Derek Frazier, the 29-year-old son of late heavyweight champ Joe Frazier. One of the 12, Kyland Young, turns 30 on July 13 and, per his bio, has seen every Best Picture Oscar winner of the last 20 years, and not to be biased but he’s already our favorite. This is quite different from last year’s all-stars season, which featured numerous returning players in their 30s and 40s, and even Season 21, which had 54-year-old Cliff Hogg repping the other end of the spectrum. It's been nearly 20 years since Big Brother premiered, and it hasn't changed a bit - and that's a bad thing.
By its own design, Big Brother can't hide behind an edit. Its innovative 24/7 live feeds made the show a novel concept, initially available for free but now requiring a paid subscription to CBS All Access, they've also exposed many deeply offensive moments of prejudice from contestants. When an episode fails to provide the whole story, feed watchers are quick to point out the flaws in the edit, providing real-time clips on sites like Twitter and Reddit. As controversies seem to get more frequent, the show continues to move away from what initially made it compelling. It's hard not to wonder if Big Brother's casting department and producers are vetting people who may hold prejudiced views, or at the very least, even attempting to find a more diverse cast of houseguests.

You win some, you lose some. Even though Jackson Michie earned bragging rights on Wednesday night as the winner of “Big Brother” Season 21, only 29% of fans who voted in our recent poll claim they’re “happy” he won. Conversely, a whopping 69% of readers proclaim Nicole Anthony “should have won,” while just 2% thought it should have been Holly Allen. Do You agree or disagree with those poll results? Sound off down in the comments section.

Since Day 1, Michie had high hopes of walking out of the house with confetti on his shoulders, and that’s exactly what happened on Day 99 after the jury gave him six votes to Holly’s three. However, his victory was tarnished when host Julie Chen Moonves brought up all of the racist and sexist allegations that had plagued the show in early summer.

The motto of “Big Brother” has always been “expect the unexpected,” but after Wednesday’s live finale the new motto should really be “expect the uncomfortable.” We’re looking at you, Jackson Michie!
Near the end of the 90-minute episode, host Julie Chen Moonves brought up several of the summer’s most controversial moments, including how some viewers saw Michie’s decision to banish David Alexander, Kemi Fakunle, Jessica Milagros and Cliff Hogg on day one as racist/ageist. But we’re getting ahead of ourselves. The one shining moment from the Season 21 finale was when viewers named Nicole Anthony as America’s Favorite Houseguest.

Lots of dumb moves were made in the “Big Brother 21” house this summer, but if you ask Dr. Will, there was one bad one that trumped them all. Answering a series of questions on Twitter on Tuesday (which means he’s probably hosting the jury roundtable again), Will Kirby said Cliff Hogg III not going with Nicole Anthony‘s plan to keep Tommy Bracco was the worst move of the season.
“Cliff should’ve absolutely listened to Nicole. I think he’d be a lot better off right now and I think he’d be in a completely different position if he had given her opinions a little bit more weight,” he said. “I think one of the bad game moves was that Cliff sort of wanted to be his own person and not really be open-minded to other ideas.”
@DrWillKirby, what has been the worst game move this season?...

Just nine people will decide who wins “Big Brother” 21 on Wednesday, September 25 during the live 90-minute finale. We know the #BB21 winner will be one of the Final 3 — Holly Allen, Nicole Anthony and Jackson Michie. Loyal fans of the reality show can only watch from the sidelines as the Final 2 houseguests make their respective cases to the jury.
But “Big Brother” viewers do get to have their say as to who is “America’s Favorite Houseguest.” The winner of this popular vote will get bragging rights and $25,000. Last year, Tyler Crispen had to settle for runner-up status to #BB20 winner Kaycee Clark but he was named “America’s Favorite Houseguest.”
All 16 of the “Big Brother” houseguests in season 21 are eligible for this title. This includes the first five to be evicted (David Alexander, Kemi Fakunle, Ovi Kabir, Sam Smith and Isabella Wang); the jury pool and the Final 3.

After 93 days in the “Big Brother” house, Cliff Hogg was sent packing on Thursday’s live eviction episode when Jackson Michie cast the sole vote to send the 54-year old engineer to jury. Although Nicole Anthony was the reigning Head of Household and had nominated Holly Allen and Michie for eviction, Michie won the most important Power of Veto of the summer, giving him the only vote on eviction night. Despite what Cliff may have thought, there was no chance Michie was going to save Cliff over his girlfriend Holly. Even though “Big Brother’s” Jackson Michie made a deal this week to bring Cliff Hogg to the final three if he ended up winning the Veto competition, Michie had no intention of keeping that promise. In his mind, Cliff and Nicole Anthony struck first when they contemplated sending home Michie’s showmance partner Holly Allen last week over Tommy Bracco, which now gives him the right to lie to Cliff and Nicole.
After winning the final Veto comp of “BB21,” Michie broke down in tears as he apologized to Cliff and his family. “I’m sorry, Cliff,” he said in the Diary Room at the end of Wednesday’s episode. “I love you as a man, but I’m gonna have to send you home this week. On Sunday’s dramatic episode of “Big Brother,” we saw Nicole Anthony win the embarrassingly short endurance competition to become Week 12 Head of Household. She targeted Jackson Michie for eviction on September 19 and named his showmance Holly Allen as the other nomination. Nicole’s pal Cliff Hogg would cast the only vote.
The only way for Jackson to avoid eviction on Thursday was to be removed from the line-up at Monday’s Power of Veto ceremony. The final Veto competition of “Big Brother” Season 21 will air during the Wednesday, September 18 episode, and one houseguest doesn’t plan on letting his age play a factor. “Age is just a number,” proclaimed 54-year-old Cliff Hogg at the end of Sunday’s episode. “In order to guarantee that I’m going to the Final 3, I’ve got to win this Veto. Yeah, my birth certificate says I’m 54, but I’ve spent the last 80-something days in this house competing with a bunch of 20-year-olds who under-assumed what I could do. I will do what it takes to get all the way to the end.”

As the outgoing Head of Household, Jackson Michie was forced to watch from the sidelines on Thursday as the other three remaining houseguests — Holly Allen, Nicole Anthony and Cliff Hogg — battled it out to be the Final 4 Hoh. Although “Crash and Turn” was billed as an endurance competition, it lasted all of two minutes after the end of the live show on Sept. 13.
This marked Nicole’s second Hoh win in three weeks and ensured her a place in the Final 3. It was a given that she would bypass her pal Cliff and name Holly and Jackson as the eviction nominations for Week 12. It is now up to Cliff as to which of these two is to be sent packing on Sept. 19. And he is not sure who he wants to join him and Nicole in the Final 3. Tommy Bracco cartwheeled his way to “Big Brother” 21 host Julie Chen Moonves after becoming the latest houseguest sent packing on Thursday’s live eviction episode. Despite launching a convincing campaign to save himself, Tommy was outsmarted by Head of Household Jackson Michie, who wove together a brilliant web of lies to convince Cliff Hogg and Nicole Anthony that Tommy couldn’t be trusted. In a last minute decision, Cliff and Nicole ultimately decided to evict Tommy over Michie’s number one ally and showmance, Holly Allen.
“He got me!” Tommy exclaims as he sits down with Julie. “It’s all false! It’s all a lie.” After Julie explains that viewers at home have not seen what transpired between Michie and Tommy, she gives the Broadway dancer an opportunity to explain his emotional final hours in the house.

We say endurance competition but “Crash and Turn” should have been renamed “Bash and Burn.” It lasted only two minutes after the end of the live show on September 12. As Week 11 Hoh Jackson Michie was ineligible to play, that left his showmance Holly Allen up against besties Nicole Anthony and Cliff Hogg.
No surprise that Cliff was the first to fall but it was a shock when Holly followed him just seconds later. That meant Nicole was the last houseguest standing and she assumed the title of Final 4 Hoh.

Who would have thought that the two most influential people in the “Big Brother” house would be underdogs Nicole Anthony and Cliff Hogg? Well, that’s exactly how things shaped up this week after Nicole won the Veto and removed Cliff from the chopping block. That meant Head of Household Jackson Michie had no choice but to nominate his showmance partner Holly Allen alongside Tommy Bracco. When Jackson Michie won the Final 5 Head of Household, he never imagined in a million years the week would end with his showmance partner Holly Allen going up on the block … and possibly being evicted. Tommy Bracco is truly alone in the “Big Brother” house, as the other players all have a Final 4 deal that’s gotten them this far in the game: Jackson Michie, Holly Allen, Nicole Anthony and Cliff Hogg. After Michie won the Head of Household competition (yet again), he put up Tommy as his target and Cliff as a pawn. However, the Veto competition could throw a wrench in Michie’s plans if Tommy ends up pulling out a victory. That’d force Michie to replace him with Nicole (because Holly is his showmance partner), meaning the duo of Cliff and Nicole would officially be split up. So how did the Veto play out on Wednesday night?
