The $12 million budgeted feature film "Dampyr", adapting the European horror comic book series, has started shooting in Romania, directed by Riccardo Chemello, starring Stuart Martin as 'Emil Kurjak', Frida Gustavasson as 'Tesla', David Morrisey as 'Gorka', Sebastian Croft as 'Yuri', Luke Roberts as 'Draka' and Wade Briggs as 'Harlan the Dampyr', co-produced by Eagle Pictures, Sergio Bonelli Editore and Brandon Box:
"...in the beginning, 'Emil Kurjak' (Martin), commander of a small squad of soldiers, sees the bombing of his wife and son during the 'Balkan Wars'. Then, in the village of 'Yorvolak', his men are massacred by the vampire pack of 'Master Gorka' (Morrisey).
"Once he realizes the existence of the 'Masters of the Night', he kills Gorka to avenge his comrades..."

Cameras are rolling on “Dampyr,” the live-action movie adaptation of the popular independent comic book franchise. Wade Briggs (“Please Like Me”) will play Harlan, the Dampyr, in the $12 million fantasy action thriller, which is being helmed by Riccardo Chemello.
Stuart Martin (“Jamestown) has signed on to play Emil Kurjak, and Frida Gustavasson (“Arne Dahl”) plays Tesla. The cast also includes David Morrissey (“Good Omens”) as Gorka, Sebastian Croft (“Game of Thrones”) as Yuri, and Luke Roberts (“300: Rise of an Empire”) as Draka.

“Aquaman” director James Wan’s Atomic Monster is teaming up with prominent Italian comics publisher Sergio Bonelli Editore to co-produce an English-language TV series based on cult horror comic “Dylan Dog.
Bonelli’s “Dylan Dog” property is being developed as a 10-episode live-action series based on Tiziano Sclavi’s popular franchise chronicling the exploits of its titular British paranormal investigator, who with his sidekick Grouch, a Marx impersonator, takes on cases that usually involve monsters, ghosts, vampires, werewolves and zombies.
The 33-year-old comic book series, published in the U.S. by Dark Horse Comics, boasts more than 500 installments and sales of more than 50 million copies worldwide.
Bonelli branched out into production a year ago with a dedicated arm called Bonelli Entertainment that was set up to give them a hands-on role. They bought back the rights to “Dylan Dog” which in 2011 was adapted by Hollywood indie Hyde Park Entertainment into...
