Richard Lane was born in 1918 in Coogee, New South Wales, Australia. He was a writer, known for Homicide (1964), Motel (1968) and Carson's Law (1983). He died on 11 March 2008 in Australia.
He was awarded the O.A.M. (Medal of the Order of Australia) in the 2008 Queen's Birthday Honours List for his services to the arts as the author of screenplays, radio and television scripts, and histories of Australian radio drama.
