Per the official description, the fourth season will follow Geralt, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and Ciri (Freya Allan) as they “are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other. The first teaser for "The Witcher" season 4 is here, and Netflix clearly knows exactly what fans want to see: Geralt 2.0, newly recast as Liam Hemsworth.
News broke back in 2022 that "Hunger Games" actor Hemsworth was set to step into the role of monster-hunting legend Geralt of Rivia for the series' fourth season, and since then, fans have been waiting eagerly to catch a glimpse of Hemsworth's take on the hero. After watching the minute-long teaser below, we can confirm that he looks, well, kind of like Henry Cavill's Geralt. The promo takes the term "teaser" literally, showing plenty of footage of Geralt leading his horse through a pond before finally showing us his new face. The landscape is shadowy and blue, and we see several shots of the hero and his steed from different angles before, at the end, he turns around to face the viewer.

Henry Cavill played the character during the first three seasons of “The Witcher,” and “The Hunger Games” veteran is now taking over the part for the final two seasons.
Netflix shocked “The Witcher” fans in October 2022 when it announced Cavill would be departing the show after the third season, which aired in summer 2023 in two parts. Cavill’s exit coincided with news that he would be returning to the DC Universe on the big screen as Superman, although the announcement was premature as plans for his Man of Steel return for eventually nixed.

When Netflix launched "The Witcher" back in 2019, it was the streamer's attempt to kickoff a big fantasy franchise on the level with "Game of Thrones" or "Lord of the Rings." The move made sense. After all, not only are the "Witcher" video games very popular, but the Andrzej Sapkowski books they're based on offer a unique and different perspective on fantasy than other mainstream titles thanks to their Slavic mythology influence. This means the "Witcher" TV series and its spinoffs have a lot of rich source material to take inspiration from and change as they deem fit (something the main "Witcher" show has done a lot in the past). Netflix's "The Witcher" was also a huge hit, with the first season gifting us a viral hit song in "Toss a Coin to Your Witcher."

Dragons play a prominent role in many fantasy stories from The Hobbit to A Song of Ice and Fire to Dungeons & Dragons. They’re not as central to the plot of The Witcher, but they do help the main characters come to terms with their destiny in both the books by author Andrzej Sapkowski and the Netflix adaptation. Dragons are complicated creatures, so we’ll break down everything that’s been revealed about them.
Be warned: Spoilers for The Witcher are ahead.
What are the different types of dragons?
Gold dragons are so rare that most consider them a myth. Gold dragons, like witchers, are mutants and cannot reproduce naturally. However, they are shapeshifters, which allows them to walk freely among humans.
Green dragons are the most common, followed by red, black and white. Those names are somewhat misleading. Green dragons are actually greyish, red dragons are brick-red and...

Yes, Netflix’s The Witcheris adapted from author Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher book series, but even fans who have read all of his novels and short stories can’t really predict what’s going to happen on the show since many plots from the books have been altered or further fleshed out to work better on the screen. The biggest surprise of the adaptation so far came in Season 2 with the introduction of Voleth Meir, an entirely new character who serves as a terrible threat to The Witcher’s heroes. Who is she? Where does she come from? Well, since monster-hunting witchers do intense research on their foes to know the best ways to defeat them, we’re doing that homework for you by providing everything you need to know about Voleth Meir, including her powers, origins and goals.

Some people say they prefer video games to any kind of TV show these days, and it's not hard to see why. Not only do games offer amazing stories and great graphics, but they also draw you in and make you feel like a part of the universe in which the events take place.
However, games take time, skill, and patience, and they're not for everyone. So, if you are interested in some of the plots of video games, but want to sit back and relax while watching them, here are 8 best adaptations that might be a perfect choice.
8. Sonic Prime (2022-...) – 60%
The fate of the world is once again in Sonic's hands as he must use his super speed to save the newly created multiverse. Although the latest installment of the famous hedgehog's journey didn't impress audiences too much, viewers were much more appreciative, giving the show an 86% approval rating.

Beau DeMayo’s controversial firing some weeks before the premiere of X-Men ’97 was a huge point of discussion among fans. While various rumors have been circulated, the true reason is unknown. DeMayo had continued talking about the show as the episodes drop weekly and many fans are also loving the narrative he had built for the X-Men team.

While future seasons of the show have been greenlit, DeMayo is unlikely to return as showrunner. Netflix was building up their series The Witcher, which is inspired by a series of novels by Andrzej Sapkowski, to be a major franchise. In addition to the flagship show, they made the anime film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and a prequel mini-series called The Witcher: Blood Origin, with another anime movie called The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep and a couple other spin-offs in the works… but now it looks like it’s all winding down. As The Witcher season 4 heads into production with Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt of Rivia from former star Henry Cavill, Netflix has announced that season 5 will be the end of the show. And while The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep is still expected to be released through the streaming service by the end of 2024, Redanian Intelligence and What’s on Netflix have learned that two other spin-offs, one...

Netflix’s The Witcher has had quite a wretched run so far. The initial excitement of having Andrzej Sapkowski’s epic saga adapted with its biggest fan as a lead star quickly wore off when it turned out not quite keen on following the source material. Three seasons in, Henry Cavill quit The Witcher, and Liam Hemsworth was announced as the new Geralt of Rivia.
Hemsworth hasn’t even played the iconic monster hunter in a single episode yet, but we already know exactly when he’ll hang his two swords like his predecessor did.

Geralt of Rivia’s story has an end date on Netflix.
On Thursday, the streaming service renewed The Witcher for Season 5, but revealed that it would be the last season.
The shocking announcement comes as production is finally getting underway on The Witcher Season 4 following countless setbacks.
“It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate Season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” showrunner Lauren Hissrich shared in a statement.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn’t be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends.”
Saying goodbye to the hit fantasy drama will be tough, but at least we have two seasons that will help soften the blow.

Netflix’s The Witcher has been renewed for a fifth season, but it will be the series’ last. More on that below.

When The Witcher season 4 starts streaming on Netflix, our hero Geralt of Rivia is going to have a whole new look. That’s because Henry Cavill is no longer involved, with Liam Hemsworth taking over the role of Geralt. Today, Deadline has revealed that Hemsworth is being joined in the cast of The Witcher season 4 by Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix and the John Wick franchise), who will be playing a character named Regis.
If you’re like me and don’t have any familiarity with the Witcher franchise outside of the Netflix show, chances are that the first person you think of when you see the name Regis is Regis Philbin. But, of course, Fishburne’s casting on this show is not going to require any sort of Philbin impression. Instead, the Regis character he’ll be playing is someone who was introduced in Andrzej Sapkowski’s novel Baptism of Fire.

Netflix‘s The Witcher has always had a somewhat contentious relationship with its fans, particularly those familiar with the original books by Polish fantasy writer Andrzej Sapkowski, on which the video game and TV series is based. Over the three seasons, some viewers have criticized the show for straying from the source material, especially in the most recent third season. Many believe this is why the show’s lead star, Henry Cavill, who played Geralt of Rivia, decided to exit the series after Season 4; Liam Hemsworth will take over the role for Season 4. Cavill himself never confirmed his reasons for leaving, but he is a self-confessed super-fan of The Witcher books and video games. In a 2021 interview with Philstar Global, the actor said of his role in The Witcher, “It’s important for me to have the character be three-dimensional.” (Credit: Netflix) “And it’s tricky to do, as I was saying earlier,...

Actor Henry Cavill’s departure from ‘The Witcher’ was a subject of great controversy and disappointment for fans of the series who were particularly taken with his portrayal of Geralt of Rivia. One of the prime reasons why Cavill left was because the studio never took the ideas of author Andrzej Sapkowski who wrote the books.
Sapkowski, speaking at the Vienna Comic-Con last week, was asked if he gave the studio and the series writers any feedback.
Laughing at the question, he replied: “Maybe, I gave them some ideas, but they never listened to me. But it’s normal.”
He then broke into an impression of a Netflix executive and said dismissively, “who’s this? It’s a writer, it’s nobody”, according to ‘The Hollywood Reporter’.
While the makers had revealed that they wanted to do their own thing with the source material, Cavill had made no secret his...
