Writer-director Steven Soderbergh says he’s written a sequel to his 1989 breakthrough Sex, Lies, and Videotape, and hopes to get it on screen.
In a remote interview on the YouTube series Flaviar’s NightCap Live (watch it below) Soderbergh tells host Dan Dunn that he’s written three screenplays during the coronavirus shutdown, one of which is a sequel to his 1989 Cannes Palme d’Or winner Sex Lies, and Videotape.
The director said the sequel is “an idea that had been circling for a while.” (The other two lockdown screenplays include a rewritten script and a novel adaptation; he didn’t provide details.)

The recurring Film Twitter joke that made the rounds when quarantine first started, was uber-prolific filmmaker Steven Soderbergh had likely already made a few films in the weeks that had passed. And that’s basically turned out to be correct. After leaving The Walking Dead Frank Darabont told sources he wasn’t done with TV. So to no real surprise TNT has announced that they’ve ordered a pilot for a drama series called L.A. Noir that Darabont will write, direct, and executive produce. It is based on the book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City which focuses on the struggle between Los Angeles police chief William Parker and mobster Mickey Cohen. Darabont says of the project:

The network has order to pilot Living Loaded, a half-hour single-camera project from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia co-creator/star Rob McElhenny and his executive producer Rob Rosell.
