On Monday morning ,ace-photographer Jagdish Mali lost his battle with life and breathed his last at the Lilavati hospital. He was only 59.
During the time of his death only close family and a few members of the film fraternity were visible. "In fact," smirks a close friend of the family, "The only people we spotted from the film industry at the hospital were filmmaker Ashoke Pandit and actress Sharbani Mukherjee (Kajol's cousin). Jagdish had spent a large part of his life beautifying so many actresses from Rekha to Dimple Kapadia to Madhuri Dixit for the camera lenses. Where were they?"
Ashoke Pandit who has been a steady and supportive friend to the ailing photographer defended the thin attendance at the hospital. "Not too many knew of Jagdish's condition. On May 1, he slipped in the bathroom and broke his hip. We rushed him to hospital where the damage was taken care of.

Rani and Kajol's other cousin Sharbani Mukherjee, whose career crossed the border into obscurity after her initial debut, is back in the industry with two new movies lined up. She recently completed the Malayalam film Sufi Paranja Katha with Shushant Singh and will appear in Sangeeth Sivan's next untitled Bollywood movie - due for release in November.
Sufi Paranja Katha is a semi-serious, semi-comic tale of identity theft as a young man, Mohandas, seeks to convince authorities that he is who he says he is. "It's a surreal story of a battered young man who finds that someone else is living as Mohandas," says a source, "Heavy doses of irony and satire make the film interesting and traces the absurd levels to which democratic institutions can be manipulated today."
Sharbani is also involved in the innovative stage play Fantasia Fantastique. Essentially a puppet play including a 4m octopus, a...

Kin of the famous Mukherjee family, Sharbani Mukherjee is to begin all over again in Hindi films. She was believed to be one of the most promising actresses in the industry after the success of her debut film Border.
But unfortunately fate did not smile on her for long. She faced consecutive flops in her career after Border. Neither the family connection, nor the stardom of the first film brought any big opportunity her way. On the other hand, her cousins Kajol and Rani climbed the ladder, with one after the other success at the box office and continue to rule the industry till today.
