James Gunn’s Superman is in production and rumors surrounding the movie have already made it to discussion among fans. A recently rumored plot of the most anticipated DC movie revealed the main villain of the movie is much deadlier.

Following the rumored villain, David Corenswet’s Superman will face one of his greatest nemesis— an alternate version of himself. While there is no official confirmation for the update, it is still quite plausible. Also, Gunn will not need another actor to play the part.

A recent report from scooper @CanWeGetSomeToast revealed that David Corenswet will go toe-to-toe with, well, himself, fighting the ultimate battle against his alternate version Ultraman. The rumor further theorized that Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor would play a major role in bringing the DC villain to life as he would successfully clone Superman.

In the 1960s, Mort Weisinger ran more than a few stories speculating on what would happen had Superman and Batman married and had offspring, although no two stories were connected. Under Murray Boltinoff, World’s Finest Comics in 1973 began a series of stories about Clark Kent, Jr, and Bruce Wayne, Jr., which had its following. More recently, Superman and Lois had a son, Jonathan, while Batman met Damian, his biological son, grown in a test tube by Ra’s al Ghul. Once they established themselves, it was inevitable the youngster would be paired up and a series of entertaining Super Sons stories ran, mostly in the capable hands of writer Peter Tomasi.
Now, Warner Animation has paired them in a brand-new animated feature, Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons. This is one of the most consistently satisfying offerings from the studio in some time and was fun to watch,...

They’re not coy about it in The Suicide Squad marketing. As one of Amanda Waller’s underlings screams with utter joy in trailer, “Oh my God, we’ve got a freaking kaiju up in this shit!” Yep. The apparent lead villain of James Gunn’s wild reimagining of DC’s supervillain team is Starro: a Godzilla-sized alien starfish how has dreams on world domination. That makes sense.
When we sat down to speak with Gunn last month, we brought up the character and just why the filmmaker felt so endeared to this creature that he wanted to see Starro go head to head with his version of the Suicide Squad.
“Starro is hilarious because he’s ridiculous,” Gunn explains. “He’s a giant, cerulean blue starfish, but he’s also fucking terrifying. When I was a kid, I thought that was the scariest thing of all time and also...

It was, for its time, the coolest comic book on the racks. Lucky for me, having just turned eight years old I was at the perfect age to best enjoy it.
In fact, I already was lusting for the comic by the time it hit my local drug store. The house ad promoting the issue had been running in several of the DC comics for a few weeks, and it intrigued the hell out of me. Back in those days when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, new comic book heroes were very few and very far between, even though 1958 was something of a boom year. DC had a title called Showcase that offered new concepts a try out – usually three issues. Yes, it was joined by The Brave and the Bold, but not until the summer of 1959. Showcase begat the Challengers of the Unknown, Lois Lane, the Metal Men, and the silver age Flash,...

We get a hell of a lot of press releases over here at ComicMix. That’s understandable, even though we’re not really a news site – for those of you who watch Fox News, there’s a difference between “news” and “opinion.” We get ‘em from all sorts of people and places and most of the larger comics publishers, except DC Comics. Hmmm… I wonder why that is?
Perhaps the publisher who leads the pack in sending out press releases is Action Lab. Yes, the artist on Supergirl and Firestorm and New Warriors and Iron Fist / Wolverine and all sorts of other worthy stuff. In light of The Flash’s game-changing finale Fast Enough, it’s probably time to learn about DC’s parallel universes...
This article contains big spoilers for The Flash’s season 1 finale, Fast Enough.
The Flash's first season has now drawn to a close with Fast Enough, a finale that wreaked havoc both on fans' emotions and assumptions about the programme's future. More so than any superhero season finale in recent memory, Fast Enough appeared to shatter its show’s status quo to smithereens.
Eddie is dead, and as a result, Eobard Thawne should have been wiped from the timeline. Eobard, the main villain of the series – the character that gave Barry and so many others their powers – now no longer exists. Given that Eddie is his ancestor, Eobard should have never existed at all, now that Eddie has died prematurely and put an abrupt stop to the growth of his family tree.

(Cbr) The DC Comics additions to The CW's superhero universe are growing as it was announced this week that actor Clancy Brown will appear on "The Flash" as a classic Justice League villain. The Hollywood Reporter had word that Brown will take on the role of General Wade Eiling -- better known as The General -- starting in the fifth episode of the freshman drama. Eiling will take a role within the show leading a black ops military team hunting down Plastique -- another villain who originated in the "Captain Atom" comics being played by Kelly Frye. The General has a rather winding path through the DC Universe. The character was created by the '80s "Captain Atom" team of Cary Bates and Pat Broderick, though he arguably earned his greatest prominence in the pages of Grant Morrison and Howard Porter's "Jla" when the creators merged his mind with...

Carmine Infantino, the legendary artist, editor, and co-creator of the Black Canary, the Barry Allen Flash, Elongated Man, Deadman, Human Target, and Batgirl, and onetime publisher of DC Comics has passed away at the age of 87. Chesler during his freshman year of high school at the School of Industrial Art. His early career included stints on Airboy, The Heap, Johnny Thunder, the Golden-Age Green Lantern and Flash, and the Justice Society of America. In 1956, Julius Schwartz teamed Carmine with Robert Kanigher to attempt to revive superheroes by creating a new version of the Flash in Showcase #4, an event which marked a beginning of the Silver Age of Comics. A couple of weeks ago, David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman TV series, was seemingly shelved, no network was interested in picking up the price tag for the film, which included expensive production and licensing. However, NBC, has decided to take a chance on the series, even in the midst of a recent buy out by Comcast, new programming chief coming in and another executive on his way out.
Kelley remained optimistic and continued to pursue a network home for this long-gestating take on the crime fighting Amazonian. NBC, the last network to pass on Wonder Woman, has now given the proposed hour-long action drama a pilot greenlight. This decision came after a regime change was officially in place at the network in the wake of Comcast’s take over. NBC is now being overseen by Robert Greenblatt, the man responsible for revitalizing Showtime with series favorites Weeds and Dexter.

Growing up in the 1960s, DC’s super-heroes were proud to don their uniforms and battle for truth, justice, and the American way. They had a relatively easy camaraderie with one another and they used their wits and their powers to get out the devilish death-traps they inevitably found themselves in every now and then.
While DC’s heroes and villains have been successfully translated to animation through the years, none have quite captured that colorful joy in being a super-hero. As successful as Warner Animations Batman, Superman and Justice League have been for the current generation of fans, Batman: The Brave and the Bold is the show that those of us from an earlier era have been waiting for. No Wonder Twins, no Wendy & Marvin – our heroes and villains doing what they do best.

Another bit of new information revealed in the THR DC Comics article we mentioned earlier tonight is that Warner Bros is currently seeking pitches from screenwriters on big screen adaptations of Adam Strange and Aquaman. More people probably are aware of Aquaman than Adam Strange, so why don't we start with Strange. Created by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky, the character first appeared in November 1958. Strange is an archeologist who is suddenly teleported from Earth to a planet called Rann, where he has been called on to protect the planet from "extraterrestrial threats." Many people have noted that the concept is kind of a cross between Edgar Rice Burroughs's John Carter of Mars and Flash Gordon. Aquaman was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger in November 1941. The sea-based...

Since his debut in Batman: The Animated Series, Wanrer Animation has seen to it Batman gets freshened every now and then. Animators swoop in, streamline the look and adjust the stories as time and tastes change. The most recent Batman series was perhaps the worst as it veered further and further away from its comic book source material so we suddenly had a Rastafarian Joker who knew martial arts. That incarnation has been mercifully retired and in its place we have Batman: The Brave and the Bold.
As the title suggests, this is a Batman team-up show and owes much to the title where Batman co-starred with other characters for over 125 issues. The designs puff up the Caped Crusader so he looks as if Carmine Infantino or Mike Sekowsky was doing the model sheets.
Fortunately, the resemblance to the 1960s more or less ends there as the storytelling is quick and adventurous.
