In 2008, the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) divided the Daytime Emmy Award for talk show into two categories — entertainment and informative. The idea was to ensure that series competed against those that were similar in tone and subject matter. Yet, more than a decade later, there is some crossover. “The View,” for example, submits in the entertainment subcategory, despite featuring daily Hot Topics segments that focus on politics and news and undoubtedly end up educating some of its viewers. And “Rachael Ray,” which won in entertainment in 2008 and 2009, is now on the informative ballot.
“By design, our show crosses over through both categories,” says Janet Annino, senior executive producer at “Rachael Ray.” “On a given day, we’ll have a celebrity sitting at the table, Tony Bennett singing, or we’ll devote an entire hour to tips and tricks. If asked to define our show, people here may...

CBS has renewed Rachael Ray for a 14th season, sources at Natpe have confirmed to Deadline.
The show has been a solid performer over its many years on the air. But as its host has diversified her rather full portfolio and the local station landscape has evolved, its fate had not been completely certain.
Rachael Ray is distributed and produced by CBS Television Distribution in association with Harpo Productions, Scripps Networks and Watch Entertainment. Janet Annino is the Executive Producer.
Keshet Media Group CEO Avi Nir, meanwhile, made a rare visit to Natpe in Miami, where he confirmed the imminent airing in Israel of ambitious reality series 2025.
Also during his keynote session, Nir said The Dead Girls Detective Agency, a Keshet series made for Snapchat, has been renewed for another season on the social network.

Daytime syndicated talk show "Rachael Ray" has been renewed through the 2011-12 season after the ABC Owned TV Stations inked a deal to pick up the Emmy-winning show for two more seasons.
Now in its third season, "Rachael Ray" has been cleared in almost 60% of the country through 2012, or the talker's sixth season.
"Viewers really responded to our initial idea to expand Rachael beyond the kitchen and turn it into a hit daytime show," said Terry Wood, president of programming for CBS TV Distribution, which distributes and produces "Rachael Ray" in association with Harpo Prods., Scripps Networks and Watch Entertainment.
"Rachael Ray," winner of the best talk show Daytime Emmy Award last year, is nominated for four 2009 Daytime Emmys including best talk show and best talk show host.
Janet Annino is the show's executive producer, with Joseph Freed and Shane Farley serving as senior supervising producer and supervising producer, respectively.
