The Hit Man star takes aim as her career levels up
Adria Arjona knows just how scary it can be to meet your heroes. One of her all-time favourite movies is School Of Rock, and when she first met Richard Linklater, not even the relative safety of a Zoom call could save her. “My hands were sweaty,” she admits to Empire. “I was really trying to play it cool and that lasted for about ten minutes.”
After a series of supporting turns in genre fare, crime dramas (True Detective), and recently as the forthright Bix in Andor, the 31-year-old actor is stepping into fresh territory with Linklater’s romcom HitMan. Alongside Glen Powell, she stars as Madison, a housewife with a controlling husband who falls for the contract killer (Powell) she hires to take him out. The only problem: her new boyfriend is actually working undercover for the police as a fake hitman.

I would have expected the new indie anthology film Beware the Boogeyman to have come out a while back, closer to the release of the widely hyped Stephen King adaptation, The Boogeyman. The inspiration is obvious, one scene even has a character holding a copy of Night Shift, the collection of King’s stories that brought it to most people’s attention. In any case, it’s out now and wants you to believe in it.

If there’s one thing Americans like arguing about, it’s football. But this one isn’t about the Chiefs and the 49ers (or all of the Taylor Swift in between), but rather the Giants and…Top Gun? That’s right, one of the NFL’s most famous quarterbacks and the star of one of the highest-grossing films of the decade have clashed, prompting a brand new debate: Who handles a football better, Eli Manning or Glen Powell? But this one won’t be settled on the gridiron.
Glen Powell and Eli Manning had a humorous exchange soon after it was announced that the actor would be starring in an upcoming Hulu comedy series spawned from Manning’s own fictional undercover football wannabe. In his jab, Manning wrote, “I hope Glen is working on his Qb skills, I saw him throw a football in Maverick…he has some work to do!

Glen Powell is headed to Hulu to star in a new football series that he co-created.
Fresh off the success of his rom-com Anyone But You, the 35-year-old actor is putting together the show, titled Chad Powers.
If it sounds familiar, that’s because it’s inspired by an old skit that NFL star Eli Manning filmed!
Read more about Glen Powell’s new project…
Chad Powers pulls inspiration from a plot on the Esnp+ series Eli’s Places. In one episode, Eli portrayed an alter ego named Chad who went back to college to play football at Penn State.
Glen is creating the new series, which has been compared to Ted Lasso, alongside Michael Waldron. They co-wrote the pilot and are acting as executive producers alongside Eli and his brother Peyton.
“We’re both diehard college football fans,” the collaborators said in a statement shared with The Hollywood Reporter.

Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions are planning an April 26th theatrical release for director Moritz Mohr’s dystopian action thriller Boy Kills World, which stars Bill Skarsgard (It) and Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day) – and with that release date just two months away, a trailer for the film has arrived online and can be seen in the embed above. JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray already had the chance to see Boy Kills World a few months ago, and you can read his 8/10 review at This Link.
Produced by the legendary Sam Raimi, Boy Kills World was scripted by Arend Remmers (Sløborn) and Tyler Burton Smith (Kung Fury: The Movie). The story takes place in a bizarre, dark dystopian universe and centers on a deaf and mute character, Boy (Skarsgård), who navigates this depressing world with his otherworldly imagination. Tragedy strikes when Boy’s family is brutally murdered. When his fight or flight instincts kick in,...

Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney put on a bit of a surprise performance at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards on Sunday night (February 18) in Santa Monica, Calif.
The Anyone But You co-stars took the stage to present an award together, and Glen was a “little nervous” to be in front of so many people.
Sydney asked Glen if he needed her to “do that thing that calms you down,” and he shyly said, “Not in front of all these people.” However, Sydney started singing Natasha Bedingfield‘s “Unwritten” and the crowd joined in.
He reluctantly joined in and they both sang along with the crowd before bringing Natasha herself!
If you didn’t know, this moment was a nice tie-in to their movie Anyone But You.
Check out the video inside…
In the film, whenever Glen‘s character gets nervous or anxious, he used “Unwritten” as his “serenity song” to help him feel better.

While Sydney Sweeney’s recent collaboration with Sony has been up to a rough start at the Box-office, unlike Madame Web, things have been smooth for her previous Sony release. Even though mainstream rom-com releases are a rarity these days, with Hollywood prioritizing IP-driven releases in recent years, Anyone but You was a breath of fresh air for fans.
Loosely based on William Shakespeare’s play Much Ado About Nothing, starring Glen Powell and Sweeney, the film has become a sleeper hit for Sony, and the chances of a sequel appear bright.

Who doesn’t love a good disaster movie? A sequel to the 1996 hit film Twister has another group of storm chasers chasing the big one. Among that group of chasers are Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick), Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People), Anthony Ramos (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts), Katy O’Brian, and David Corenswet, who will play Superman in James Gunn’s new-look DC Cinematic Universe (Dcu). This trailer really captures the vibes from the original and I really liked it. Glen Powell is box office gold right now, so this should do well in the summer box office.
Director: Lee Isaac Chung
Main cast: Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos, David Corenswet, and Katy O’Brian
