Seemingly freed from the Marvel machine, Ryan Coogler is set to reunite with Michael B. Jordan on a new project, recently picked up by Warner Bros. THR reports the period thriller will feature the undead, and potentially take place in Jim Crow-era South. While other details are under wraps, there are reports it will feature anime influences and has franchise potential. Production will kick off this April in New Orleans, so expect to learn much more soon.

Liz Truss resigned from her position as Prime Minister on October 20, making her 44-day tenure the shortest in history.” 528 times.) But as any true pop culture fanatic knows, six weeks can be an eon in terms of TV. That’s how long it took for the second season of “Fleabag” to air!
Of course, not all shows are able to hang on as long as Truss did — with the notable exception of “Joey”; at least Truss is leaving with a shred of dignity intact. While the political pundits discuss what will happen now, let’s take a look at six infamously short-lived series that got pulled before Truss did.
1. “Emily’s Reason’s Why Not”
Length of Run: 1 week
Poor Heather Graham. This rom-com about a self-help book editor struggling with her dating life aired exactly one episode in 2006. Maybe Truss herself compiled a list of reasons she should not remain in power.

Netflix have really upped their game this year for Christmas movies, at least in the sheer number of them if not for the quality. That said, I always look forward to seeing the next one and Single All The Way is the latest Hallmark-looking festive rom-com to hit the service.

'Tis the season for cute and cheesy holiday films, and Netflix's first LGBTQ holiday rom-com, Single All The Way, is so charming and fun.
We'd highly recommend adding this one to your holiday movie list since it follows a fun movie trope of two best friends pretending they're dating and then realizing they're actually might be something more. Still, it's done in a refreshing new way.
With an over-involved family, a hilarious Christmas pageant, three hunky men, and fun Christmas carols, this holiday rom-com will have you smiling from beginning to end.
TV Fanatic chatted with Philemon Chambers, who played Nick, about how the movie stayed so authentic, how he enjoyed working with such a large family, and the fun rapport between the cast.

TNT has canceled the drama series “Good Behavior” after two seasons.
The series, based on the book series by Blake Crouch, starred Michelle Dockery, Juan Diego Botto, Terry Kinney, Lusia Strus and Joey Kern. It was adapted for television by Chad Hodge and Crouch. In the series Dockery starred as Letty Raines, a con artist who becomes involved with a hitman (Botto).
Hodge served as showrunner and executive produced along with Crouch. Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios also executive produced. The second season of the series launched last October.
“Good Behavior” failed to find a significant audience on TNT, ranking as the cabler’s lowest-rated original series in the Nielsen Live+Same Day ratings. The second season averaged a 0.2 rating in adults 18-49 and just under 600,000 viewers per episode.
TNT’s originals lineup now includes dramas like “Animal Kingdom,” “Claws,” and “The Alienist.” All of those shows have been renewed,...

It’s over — despite efforts to give Good Behavior a proper conclusion, there will be no third installment of the TNT series. The cancellation was just announced on Instagram by creator/executive producer Chad Hodge who also included a scene from the would-be third season.
“With a heavy heart I have to let you know that Good Behavior will not return for a third season on TNT,” he wrote.
Despite solid reviews and a popular star, Michelle Dockery in her follow-up to hit Downton Abbey, Good Behavior never found a wide audience. Its Live+same day ratings were low, a fraction of the second lowest-rated original drama series on the network.
Still, the show did strong business in delayed viewing and on digital platforms, drawing younger viewers, and became a cult favorite. “It has a passionate audience,” TNT and TBS president Kevin Reilly told Deadline in May.

It's the end of the road for Chad Hodge's Good Behavior.
The TNT drama starring Michelle Dockery has been canceled after two seasons on the Turner-owned cable network.

Hodge and his Storyland Inc. banner will create new series for the studio under the deal, along with supervising development and executive producing series with other writers.
Hodge is the creator, showrunner, and executive producer of the TNT series “Good Behavior” starring Michelle Dockery. He serves as executive producer alongside Tomorrow Studios’ CEO Marty Adelstein and Tomorrow Studios’ president Becky Clements.
“Chad combines being an amazing writer and the consummate showrunner with being a great person,” said Adelstein. “After working together on ‘Good Behavior,’ extending our relationship to an overall deal was essential as I couldn’t imagine him doing future projects with anyone else. After a supercharged few months, the end of popcorn season is approaching.
The domestic box office weekend looks to be a battle between Disney’s “Christoper Robin” and the sophomore frame of Tom Cruise’s “Mission: Impossible – Fallout” as both titles head for three-day totals around $30 million. Newcomer “The Spy Who Dumped Me” is targeting low double-digits.
“Christoper Robin,” Disney’s live-action adaptation based on the characters from Winnie the Pooh, hopes to tap into nostalgia when it opens on 3,500 screens. Ewan McGregor plays an adult version of Winnie the Pooh’s old pal Christopher Robin, who is now a businessman who has lost his sense of imagination. He reunites with his stuffed friends — including Tigger, Eeyore, and Piglet — who help him find his way. Marc Forster directed from a screenplay by Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroeder. Jim Cummings returns to voice Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, while Brad Garrett joins as Eeyore.

A disease that wipes out 98% of the world’s children. Government roundups that send the survivors to concentration-camp-like rehabilitation facilities. Heavily armed “tracers” tasked with hunting down the few who manage to escape. Despite its PG-13 rating, “The Darkest Minds” would have been one of the darkest teen fantasy thrillers ever made — if not for all the other dark teen fantasy thrillers out there these days.

What’s in a name? Everything, when it comes to a television show. Its title is its calling card — it can entice someone to tune in — or turn them off completely. And judging by the recent glut of series labeled “good” — from “The Good Place” to “The Good Doctor,” from “Good Girls” to “Good Girls Revolt” — it can also stir up a bit of marketplace confusion. But maybe it’s a good problem to have.
“Coming up with a title is one of the most challenging things we do,” ABC Entertainment president Channing Dungey said during the Television Critics Assn.’s winter press tour in January.
At the time, ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff “Station 19,” about the first responders who work at that Seattle firehouse, was still untitled. The show, which falls under the Shondaland banner and comes from showrunner Stacy McKee, was picked up to series in May 2017 as an untitled spinoff.

Despite solid reviews and a popular star, Michelle Dockery in her follow-up to hit Downton Abbey, TNT’s drama series Good Behavior never found a wide audience. Its Live+same day ratings have been low, a fraction of the second lowest-rated original drama series on the network.
Still, the show has done some solid business in delayed viewing and on digital platforms, drawing younger viewers, and has become a cult favorite. “It has a passionate audience,” TNT and TBS president Kevin Reilly told Deadline following the Turner upfront presentation Wednesday.
But five months after Season 2 of Good Behavior ended its run on TNT, “we haven’t made a final decision” about the series’ future, Reilly said.

Winners of the 2018 Writers Guild of America Awards were revealed on Feb. 11 in ceremonies held simultaneously in Los Angeles and New York. As only screenplays written under the guild’s guidelines or those of several international partners are eligible for consideration, these kudos, which are celebrating their 70th anniversary, have not been the most reliable barometer of the Oscars.
Indeed, one of this year’s leading contenders for Best Original Screenplay at the Oscars — Martin McDonagh for “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” — was ruled out of the running by the guild. However, that WGA race does include four of the other Academy Awards nominees — “The Big Sick,” “Get Out,” “Lady Bird” and “The Shape of Water.” It is rounded out by “I, Tonya.” Jordan Peele won for “Get Out” edging out Greta Gerwig, who had been predicted to win for “Lady Bird.”

Ann Dowd is known for ferocious characters, including recent turns on “The Leftovers” and “The Handmaid’s Tale.” But TNT’s “Good Behavior” is giving her something different to play with: a saucy FBI agent who knows how to enjoy the finer things in life.
“I’m not offered roles often like this,” Dowd said. “The fact that I would have eyelashes and makeup and pretty hair and a manicure — I’d never been considered in that way — to tell you what that meant to me. I’m always thinking, ‘You gotta lose 50 pounds, no one’s going to consider you for this or that.’ And then this role came along, and on top of it all, she’s funny. I was taken by the hand in the best way to find this character.”

On the TNT series Good Behavior, which returns with season two on Oct. 15, Michelle Dockery -- best known for playing the coolly aristocratic Lady Mary Crawley on Downton Abbey -- returns as Letty Raines, an American con artist sprung from prison with the intent of applying her relatively limited resources, chief among them her wits, to a fresh start.
It’s a 180-degree turn from her Downton character, says Dockery, who in fact was offered the part just as Downton was coming to an end in 2015. “But what I love about Letty and Mary is that they’re both complex, deeply flawed women,” she says.
And like Lady Mary, who thawed substantially over six seasons, Letty is evolving. In this new season, having regained custody of her young son, Jacob (played by Nyles Steele), Letty aims to establish at least a semblance of domestic stability with her hired-assassin lover, Javier (Juan Diego Botto).

Fox is hoping that anyone* still wants to watch dystopian teen movies. They are basically the only studio in Hollywood that hasn’t been burned in the attempt to cash in on teens attempting to overthrow a dictatorial government/company (Yes, Lionsgate scored huge with The Hunger Games Trilogy Plus One, but they also released the floundering, maybe headed to TV, Divergent film series), and now that production of the highly successful Maze Runner Trilogy is back on track, they are looking to start up a new teen dystopia tentpole. To that end, they are moving forward on their adaptation of The Darkest Minds and have cast Mandy Moore in a major role.
