Maamla Legal Hai is a new series created by Rahul Pandey starring Ravi Kishan, Anant Joshi and Naila Grewal.
This series promises to be based on real events, or at least, real bizarre events. But above all, “Maamla Legal Hai” delves into the world of courts, laws, lawyers, judges, and defendants. It is a parody of the legal system and how it does not fully comply with established legal parameters.
One example will suffice: a lawyer who claims to do things legally, says precisely that they want to do everything in a strictly legal manner. The laughter is loud. Is it a parody of corruption? For us, it is a comedy to enjoy and try to be the best citizens we can be, because if we fall into the hands of the law… nothing good can happen (as the wise Kafka knew).

Spaceman is a sci-fi movie starring Adam Sandler. With Carey Mulligan, Kunal Nayyar, Paul Dano, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini. It is written by Colby Day, and based on the book by Jaroslav Kalfar. A movie directed by Johan Renck.
For those who are fans of the comedic Adam Sandler, the Adam Sandler we all know… this movie is not for you. It’s not a comedy and you won’t recognize the easygoing character that has made the American actor so famous.
Here we have a man who goes crazy in space, after six months of isolation, and starts seeing a spider. His visions become more and more overwhelming, and introspection, space, and nothingness take over a consciousness that begins to reflect on itself.
Spaceman About the movie
A movie starring Adam Sandler is a movie in which his personality, his prominence in the production, his script… overshadow everything.

Following the October parliamentary election that saw the defeat of the right-wing Law and Justice party and appointment of leader of the opposition party Donald Tusk as prime minister, Polish filmmakers are cautiously readying for change.
“So far, our cinema authorities have not changed. It remains to be seen whether they will change their approach to funding more topical or controversial projects. Recent years have been very difficult in this regard,” says acclaimed director Agnieszka Holland.
Holland’s latest film, refugee drama “Green Border,” had been attacked by the right-wing government last year. Her next film, “Franz,” about Franz Kafka, is a Czech-German-Polish co-production to be sold at EFM by Films Boutique.
“We know everything and nothing about Kafka. There are dozens of detailed biographies and the reasons for his growing importance remain a mystery. I am trying to put this film together like a scattered jigsaw puzzle,” she adds.

When Peter Capaldi flickers into view on the Zoom call, I half expect him to tell me to “F** Off!”
For TV viewers of a certain age, the 65-year-old Scottish actor will forever be Malcolm Tucker, the supremely sweary spin doctor in Armando Iannucci’s pre-Veep Brit political satire The Thick of It.
“It’s The Thick of It and Doctor Who,” says a charming (and clean-mouthed) Capaldi, about the roles he’s most recognized for (he played the twelfth incarnation of the Doctor in the cult sci-fi series from 2013 to 2017). “Surprisingly, The Thick of It is still incredibly popular [the series wrapped in 2012]. People, generally very cool, smart young people, recognize me from that a lot. They generally just ask me to swear at them.”
Of course, there’s a lot more to Capaldi than Tucker and the Doctor. His scores of film and TV appearances include playing alongside Burt Lancaster in Bill Forsyth’s 1983 classic Local Hero,...

Heist movies tend to operate by a narrative rule of three: You show the preparation; you detail the execution, bit by painstaking bit; and you map out how the criminals and/or their crew get away with it, or don’t. The Delinquents, Argentine writer-director Rodrigo Moreno’s left-of-center contribution to the genre, dispenses with the first part entirely, and fast-forwards you right to second base. A bank manager named Morán (Daniel Elías) wakes up in the morning, gets dressed, and leisurely strolls through the streets of downtown Buenos Aires to work.

In a world plagued by threatening creatures known as Kaiju, Kafka Hibino aspired to enlist in the Japan Defense Force to defeat them.
“Let’s wipe out the Kaiju together.”
Kafka pledged to his childhood friend, Mina Ashiro. Over time, life circumstances forced them to go their separate ways and caused him to abandon his lifelong ambition.
He found himself employed by Monster Sweeper, Inc., a professional cleaning company that specializes in cleaning up the aftermath of Kaiju battles. Meanwhile, Mina Ashiro is now the Captain of the Defense Force’s 3rd Division. As it stands, he is currently unworthy of fighting Kaiju alongside her.
At work, Kafka crosses paths with the highly motivated Reno Ichikawa. Reno’s undying determination to join the Defense Force leaves no room for failure. His perseverance reawakens Kafka’s ambition of standing next to Mina as they protect humanity from Kaiju together.

Take a bit of Kafka, throw in some Buñuelian realism, add a dose of John Cheever (circa The Swimmer) and then hand the recipe over to a first-time feature-making Swedish director with fond memories of a childhood spent in Ikea furniture stores, then put together an A-List cast, and you essentially have Mother, Couch.
A World Premiere this weekend at the Toronto Film Festival, this truly surreal, metaphysical mind trip will not be to everyone’s taste, but the cast, including a couple of Oscar winners, will make it go down easier even if some of it more closely resembles a thespian exercise at the Actor’s Studio, rather than a major motion picture. From the film's synopsis: Inspired by Kafka's ‘The Metamorphosis', a propaganda artist Bihaan traces his journey of becoming a vermin while trying to paint a nude portrait of his lover. As a sense of infidelity penetrates his personal relationships, he is posed with a question- what is morally corrupt- art or the artist?
“The Dreamcatcher” review is part of the Submit Your Film Initiative
After a brief animation sequence, the movie sets in an interview of sorts, where we see Bihaan, an elderly artist seemingly alone, answering the questions of a woman, while remembering his past, when he was working for the animal welfare minister, and particularly his fights with his girlfriend as a young man. It seems that the paintings he did later on in his life, were all to channel his past regrets.

When you hear about people suffering for their art, you probably think about Dickens, Plath, Kafka, or Van Gogh. But Jim Henson and his merry band of Muppets performers should probably be somewhere on that list. During production on 1979's "The Muppet Movie," the team created a whole assortment of innovations to allow Kermit, Fozzie, and the whole gang to interact with the real world as regular people do. For example, the Studebaker featured in the iconic musical numbers "Movin' Right Along" and "Can You Picture That?" had a monitor and a steering wheel in the trunk so that it could be driven from the back while Henson and Frank Oz were hidden in the floor and dashboard at the front of the car.
But that's just the tip of the iceberg for the precarious positions that Muppets performers have found themselves in over the years. And following a recent...

Emerging Vietnamese director Le Bao deploys eccentric and phantasmagorical images with austere tones and somber visuals in his debut feature “Taste”. With a stoically constructed atmosphere, he creates a monumental cinematic mood, much like the Portuguese iconic auteur Pedro Costa depicting physically distorted bodies of working-class people.
If there is such a definition as Kafkaesque, we should also refer to Costa-esque, as the world of the Portuguese director is exceptionally autonomous. In Kafka’s literary orbit, you encounter powerless human beings in absurdist labyrinths of bureaucratic machines while with Costa, spectators examine the existence of weakened individuals in the monstrous web of everyday life. The Vietnamese director manifests a Costa-esque style, but in more stylized, ambiguous and surreal manner.

In 1973 Chol Soo Lee, a 21-year-old Korean immigrant, was wrongfully incarcerated for the murder of a Chinatown gang leader. He became a symbol for systemic injustice against Asian Americans and spurred solidarity within his community. His prison memoirs have been adapted into a book and his case inspired the 1989 drama film “True Believer.” But his life — what happened before and after he became famous for his imprisonment — was far from a Hollywood fairy tale.
In the documentary “Free Chol Soo Lee,” first-time doc directors Julie Ha and Eugene Yi use archival materials in an attempt to present their tragic hero in all three dimensions. Despite their efforts, Soo Lee feels just out of reach, but the story of his life remains as important as it is horrifying.
