Benita Alexander, a journalist and ex-fiancée of Paolo Macchiarini, is one of the major characters in Dr. Death season 2. The story of Benita, presented in the series, is based on the life of a real-life person of the same name and her journey of falling in love and getting her heart broken. Paolo Macchiarini not only betrayed his patients by giving them a false hope of survival, but he also betrayed Benita’s trust. Paolo, a divorced and dashing Italian physician, managed to impress Benita, but soon enough, she got the reality check on this man. Paolo’s constant lies and false promises started to annoy Benita, who eventually uncovered the actual background of this fraudster.

Peacock has shared first look photos of new cast members Edgar Ramírez and Mandy Moore in “Dr. Death” Season 2, which will premiere all eight episodes on Dec. 21.
Based on the Wondery podcast, the show’s upcoming season follows “Miracle Man” Paolo Macchiarini, a charming surgeon renowned for his innovative operations.
“When investigative journalist Benita Alexander approaches him for a story, the line between personal and professional begins to blur, changing her life forever,” the logline states. “As she learns how far Paolo will go to protect his secrets, a group of doctors halfway across the world make shocking discoveries of their own that call everything about Paolo into question.”
In addition to Ramirez and Moore, the season stars Luke Kirby, Ashley Madekwe, and Gustaf Hammarsten.

Over coffee at Sant Ambroeus in SoHo, she’s discussing the importance of pacing in “The Wanderers,” an Off Broadway play in which she portrays a movie star named Julia Cheever, who becomes intertwined with one of the show’s two central and seemingly very different Brooklyn-based couples.
“When we were rehearsing, our director Barry Edelstein was like, ‘The play works at one hour and 37 minutes or one hour and 38 minutes. If you hop up to one hour and 40 minutes, then you aren’t faster than the audience. Your thoughts have to be faster than the audience,'” she recalls.
“You were there on Tuesday, right?” she asks. “We were, like, one hour and 38 minutes that night. The other weekend, we were at one hour and 37 minutes, and immediately, we had this overwhelming response.”
