Netflix announced today that Season 3 of Heartstopper will premiere in October.
The eight-episode third season will focus on the continuation and deepening of Charlie (Joe Locke) and Nick’s (Kit Connor) relationship.
“Season 2 ended with Nick beginning to understand the extent of Charlie’s mental health issues, and it’s this that will drive the story through Season 3,” series creator Alice Oseman Oseman told Netflix’s Tudum. “While Heartstopper will always celebrate the joyful and point towards hope, I’m really excited that we are allowing the tone of the show to mature alongside our beloved characters growing up. Mental health, sex, university ambitions, and more: Nick, Charlie, and the Heartstopper teens are getting older, learning more about themselves and each other, and experiencing new desires, new fears, and new joys as they approach adulthood.”
In Season 3, per the official logline: “Charlie would like to tell Nick that he loves him.

“No job. No boss. Just fun.” That was the offer the Fifteenth Doctor made to Ruby Sunday in the Doctor Who series 14 trailer. ‘And’, he should probably have added, ‘quite a lot of mortal peril,’ – but when has the Doctor ever been upfront with companions about the not-insignificant dangers of travelling in time and space? He probably doesn’t even fill in a risk assessment.

Doctor Who is heading for a significant shakeup as Millie Gibson, who plays the Doctor’s newest companion, Ruby Sunday, prepares to exit the series after one season. The BBC introduced Gibson as Ruby Sunday in the latest Doctor Who Special “Doctor Who: The Church on Ruby Street,” alongside Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor. Replacing Gibson in Season 15 of the long-running series is Varara Sethu.
Gibson will return as Ruby Sunday for season 14 of the series, which is set to drop in May on the BBC in the U.K. and Disney+ internationally. Season 15 is currently shooting in Wales, where Gatwa and Sethu will likely learn how much running is involved in the Doctor Who filming process. No reason has been given as to why Gibson is exiting the show.
Russell T Davies returns to the series for seasons 14 and 15 to showrun, write, and executive produce the new episodes, with co-production handled by Bad Wolf.

According to a report, new Doctor Who companion Millie Gibson is leaving after her first series, and her replacement has been cast.
We’ve only had one hour of Ncuti Gatwa’s era of Doctor Who. However, in production terms, the second series is currently filming, and willl be broadcast in 2025.
While there are many advantages to filming so far ahead, one of the disadvantages is that information is harder to keep contained.
Which leads us to some news that was first reported by The Mirror – so do take it with a pinch of salt – but the story’s been picked up by a lot of websites, and it looks as though there’s something in this.
Apparently, Millie Gibson will leave Doctor Who after the 2024 Christmas Special. The new companion is said to be Varada Sethu, who is best known for starring in Neil Cross’ apocalyptic drama Hard Sun.

“Doctor Who” star Millie Gibson is being replaced after one season, Variety has confirmed.
“Jurassic World Dominion” actor Varada Sethu will star opposite Ncuti Gatwa as the Doctor’s companion in the 15th season of the show.
Gibson, who until now was best known for playing Kelly Neelan on British soap “Coronation Street,” made her debut on the long-running sci-fi show in December’s Christmas special. She played companion Ruby Sunday alongside Gatwa, who stars as the Fifteenth Doctor.
Gibson will return as Ruby in the upcoming 14th season, which is set to drop in May on the BBC in the U.K. and Disney+ internationally.
But for Season 15, which is currently shooting in Wales, Sethu will play Gatwa’s companion, a source confirmed. No other details have been revealed about her role. Sethu has previously appeared in “Andor” and “Mrs Sidhu Investigates.”
Gatwa, who also starred in “Barbie,” will stay on as the Doctor.

After 144 people complained to the BBC about the Doctor Who episode The Star Beast, a formal response has been issued.
As previously covered on this and many other websites, following the transmission of the Doctor Who episode The Star Beast back in November, 144 people took it upon themselves to complain to the BBC about it. As we detailed at the time, the crux of the complaint was that a human being was included in the episode.
Specifically, the human being Yasmin Finney, taking on the role of (new) Rose in the show. Complainants reportedly said to the BBC that her character was “anti-male”, and another talked of the “inappropriate includes of [a] transgender character”.
Given that the BBC remains at heart – despite the best efforts of some – a public service broadcaster, it has an obligation to respond to complaints via its website. It’s now duly done so.

The BBC has brushed off complaints from Doctor Who viewers who argued that the inclusion of Yasmin Finney‘s transgender character Rose was “inappropriate.”
The British broadcaster received 144 messages from disgruntled viewers about Heartstopper star Finney’s appearance in The Star Beast special, with some arguing it was “anti-male.”
In an update on its complaints responses website, the BBC said: “As regular viewers of Doctor Who will be aware, the show has and will always continue to proudly celebrate diversity and reflect the world we live in. We are always mindful of the content within our episodes.”
The Star Beast special was watched by more than 7.6M people last month meaning the complainants made up a tiny proportion of the audience. It is not unusual for the BBC to receive complaints over transgender storylines or reporting.

The BBC has criticized research accusing the UK broadcaster of peddling viewers a “steady diet of woke bias,” including news about slavery and gender diversity storylines in drama.
The BBC accused the Campaign for Common Sense, a group that advocates for freedom of expression, of “cherry-picking” examples of so-called “woke” issues from thousands of hours of output.
The Campaign for Common Sense has yet to publish its research, but the group appears to have collated examples of content that has upset relatively small numbers of viewers. The BBC said it did not “constitute analysis.”
Findings were shared with The Daily Telegraph, which reported that the Campaign for Common Sense surveyed BBC content in an attempt to expose bias over issues including race and gender.
The group said BBC News published 55 separate stories about slavery, including people reflecting on their historical links to the slave trade.
