After four weeks of nothing but “Weird Sex” films, including David Cronenberg’s “the medium is the message” Videodrome, Andrzej Żuławski’s tentacle divorce film Possession, Kevin Smith’s “creature feature” Tusk, and Mike Nichols’ genre mixing Wolf, Trace and I are venturing into more subdued territory with Robert Wise‘s 1963 black and white classic, The Haunting.
In the film, sexually repressed Nell (Julie Harris) escapes from her sheltered life when she receives an invitation by Dr. Markway (Richard Johnson) to stay at the infamous Hill House. She’s joined by telepath and explicit lesbian Theo (Claire Bloom), as well as disbeliever Luke (Russ Tamblyn) for a scientific experiment to confirm the existence of the supernatural. But, as the opening voice over tells us, Hill House is evil and it will stop at nothing to ensure Nell, its next victim, sticks around the house forever.

Casey Anthony's former cellblock neighbor and friend Robyn Adams is telling all in Lifetime's new series Cellmate Secrets. In the upcoming series, which premieres Friday, June 4th at 10 p.m. on Lifetime, Robyn details how she and Casey met while in an Orange County, Fla. jail in 2008. They weren't allowed to speak with each other, but Robyn shares that they used "hand signals" to talk from their cell windows, as well as wrote letters to each other and hid them in books. "We would ask each other, 'Did you write me?'" Robyn explains in the above clip, mimicking the hand signs they made. "'Yes, it's in the book.'" A...

The world lost a little bit of shine this past weekend when the woman known as the “Sparkle Lady” died in hospice after a long battle with breast cancer.
“They were managing the cancer for awhile and then within the last month it just took over. It spread to her bones, her liver and lungs,” Robyn Adams’ father, Frank DeLuise, tells People.
When Adams first started chemo treatments for Stage 4 breast cancer, she showed up like most patients, dressed comfortably, wearing a sweatsuit.
But after her first round of chemo in May 2015, Adams, who was the head of an early learning center,...

When Robyn Adams first started chemo treatments for Stage 4 breast cancer, she showed up like most patients, dressed comfortably, wearing a sweatsuit. But after her first round of chemo in May 2015, Adams, who is the head of an early learning center, decided to change things up. "I thought, 'I have all this jewelry, I need to wear it. I shouldn't be dressed for doom and gloom, I need to come dressed for a party.' " she tells People. So Adams began what she calls "The Sparkle Project." The 47-year-old single mother of three started wearing heels and picking out pieces...

The idea came to Casey Anthony as she slept in jail. "I had a dream not too long ago that I was pregnant," she wrote to another inmate. "It was like having Cays all over again." The letter was released last year and takes on new meaning now that Casey's close to being set free: She was acquitted Tuesday on charges she murdered her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. "I've thought about adopting, which even sounds weird to me saying it, but there are so many children that deserve to be loved," Anthony wrote to inmate Robyn Adams at Florida's Orlando County Jail.

Casey Anthony, who on Tuesday (July 5) was found not guilty of murdering her two-year-old daughter, may already have concrete post-jail plans in place.
In a series of jailhouse letters written in 2008 and 2009, Anthony talks about wanting to have more children and writing a book.
In the letters to fellow inmate Robyn Adams, Anthony writes, "Let's make a deal? let's get pregnant together? if it's really possible to plan it."
In another, Anthony mentions adoption.
"I've thought about adopting, which even sounds weird to me saying it, but there are so many children that deserve to be loved."
She also talks about a desire to share her accumulated wisdom with the world.
Anthony describes the book as a "partial memoir/comedy/relationship advice book for those not in the know."
"It's a way to settle many rumors and to share my insight about love, life and most important - God," she wrote.
