The first full-length trailer for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three has just hit (via Toonado.com), and it teases what looks to be a high-stakes finale to this animated trilogy (and the Tomorrowverse as we know it).
With the Anti-Monitor on the loose, a whole host of heroes assemble to save the Multiverse, but it looks like that will be easier said than done when they also have Lex Luthor to contend with. Several other villains are also spotted, including The Joker, Scarecrow, and Two-Face.
In terms of cameos, the trailer ends with another Batman: The Animated Series tease. Batman Beyond also appears, but perhaps the biggest surprise comes when we return to the world of the Super Friends!
The Saturday morning cartoon aired between 1973 and 1985 on ABC and was produced by Hanna-Barbera. That classic animation style returns here and we're hoping the movie has even...

After first teasing the costume at the end of February, yesterday saw us finally get a proper look at David Corenswet's Man of Steel in DC Studios and James Gunn's Superman. Unfortunately, the response has been mixed.
That's typically the case with any suit reveal, but the image makes some noteworthy missteps in its presentation that have left some fans concerned with the creative direction of the Dcu.
In this feature, we take a look at those and what the image itself reveals about Superman. From a possible villain tease to the suit's finer, possibly McU-inspired finer details, we're breaking it down for you in as much detail as possible.
So, to find out what we've discovered, simply click on that "Next"/"View List" button below...

Yesterday, DC Studios and James Gunn shared a first look at David Corenswet suited up as the Dcu's Man of Tomorrow in Superman. While the suit itself seems to have received a largely positive response, how it was presented has divided opinions (cast your vote in our poll here).
Rather than an action shot or iconic pose, Gunn has attempted to drive home the fact that this Superman is more of an everyman, putting his boots on - or taking them off - one foot at a time, just like the rest of us.
That's all well and good, but the hero sitting down didn't like that doesn't do the suit any favours.
What was going on outside Superman's window was just as big of a talking point. A colourful explosion rocks the Metropolis skyline, which he appears to be ignoring. It's also not a strong visual and is reminiscent...

As David Corenswet Debuts As Superman, Here’s A Look At Every Actor Who Has Played The Superhero So Far
David Corenswet has officially made his debut in the Superman suit as his first look from the upcoming eponymous film has been revealed. James Gunn, the writer-director of the film and the Co-CEO of DC Studios, unveiled the look himself. Now that David Corenswet is playing a new version of the Man of Steel, he has a legacy to live up to, as a number of actors have taken on the costume in the past.
Superman’s screen history goes way back to the 1940s when the first live-action film serial based on the DC superhero arrived in cinemas. Since then, the baton has been passed down from generation to generation, with each actor bringing their own charisma to the character. Let’s have a look at all the actors...

Predictably, the first look at David Corenswet's Superman suit from the James Gunn-directed reboot is going viral on search engines and social media.
However, while most comic book fans are focusing on the nature and potential origin of the costume (whether it's something Kryptonian or a Ma Kent original) it's worth noting that there seems to be a gigantic planet/ship/alien attacking Metropolis in the background.
Given that James Gunn has asserted that the main (and potentially only) villain in Superman is Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor, it's something of a headscratcher to see the giant object attacking the city.
Below, we'll examine some possible identities for the floating object but we'll also caution that this could be an original creation for the film.

Earlier today, Warner Bros. and James Gunn shared a first look at David Corenswet fully suited up as the Dcu's Superman. Fans have had plenty to say about the costume and we're optimistic that a better shot will eventually follow.
After all, Kal-El hunched over in a chair with visible creases and loose-fitting parts of the suit surely aren't representative of what we'll see in theaters when Superman is released next summer. Well, here's hoping it's not, anyway.
Costume aside, when Corenswet - a relative unknown - was cast, many fans argued that he was too skinny to play the Man of Tomorrow.
If you still have any doubts, then we'd imagine the photo below will rid you of them. Corenswet's trainer has taken to Instagram to share a shot of the actor mid-workout and this guy is seriously jacked. He's got massive to play Superman and may even be...

Earlier today, DC Studios' co-ceo and Superman director James Gunn shared a first look at David Corenswet suited up as the Dcu's new Man of Tomorrow.
The response so far has been...mixed. Before we get to the suit, the image itself has raised eyebrows; rather than striking a heroic pose, Supes is sitting down in his incredibly expensive-looking apartment either removing or putting on his boot.
Meanwhile, a poorly CG'd explosion is taking place outside (is it AI?), a development the hero is either ignoring or hasn't noticed yet. It's a weird way to present our first look at the Dcu's Superman and arguably does the costume itself no favours.
Because he's sitting down, it's folded over in places and appears ill-fitting. Was this really the best way to present Corenswet's Superman to the world first the first time?
Gunn was clearly going for something here, though we're still struggling to figure out what.

Could The CW have one last Arrowverse crossover up its sleeve? Following remarks made by Tom Cavanagh at a convention over the weekend, TVLine has confirmed that the Flash vet will appear in the series finale of Superman & Lois, appropriately titled “It Went By So Fast.”
Cavanagh originally hoped to direct the pivotal episode, having previously helmed the Season 1 finale and Season 3 premiere, but the gig was already promised to frequent Superman & Lois director Gregory Smith. That’s when showrunner Todd Helbing got an idea, one that will leave fans theorizing for months to come.

It’s Superman!
On Monday, “Superman” writer-director James Gunn released the first look at star David Corenswet as Superman in an Instagram post.
The photo depicts the Man of Steel sitting in what appears to be a luxury highrise condo in his iconic blue, red, and yellow costume. He’s pulling on his boots, presumably to deal with the pink-and-blue comet-like burst that’s visible in the sky out the window. He may be a nearly immortal superhero from the planet Krypton, but he puts his boots on one at a time like everyone else.

What a way to kick off the week!
DC Studios, James Gunn, and Warner Bros. have officially revealed the costume for David Corenswet's Superman, the first film in the Dcu.
It looks as if Clark is preparing to lace up his boots and patrol the Metropolis skyline in the image. While sitting, it clear that this newest version of the Man of Steel will have the superhero's iconic red trunks.
The first official image of the Superman suit comes likely due to the fact that filming is set to leave the behind-the-scenes confines of the Trilith Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia and film on-location in Macon and later on in Cleveland, Ohio.
At first blush, it looks as if the suit is heavily inspired by the Superman suit from the 2011 DC Comics' New 52 reboot, with slight variations.

Justice League: Crisis On Infinite Earths - Part Three Cover Art Reveals The Movie's Lead Characters
When the news broke during last year's San Diego Comic-Con that the Crisis on Infinite Earths comic book was being turned into a three-part animated movie, DC fans rejoiced.
The CW previously adapted the story for the Arrowverse, but this version had the opportunity to bring together countless animated characters from across the Dcau in an ambitious retelling of the story. Unfortunately, the opening two chapters have been mostly disappointing.
There's still a chance it will end on a high note, of course, and a first look at Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Three's cover art has now found its way online (via Toonado.com).
Recreating the iconic shot of Superman holding the downed Supergirl, we also see Mister Terrific, Batman, Lex Luthor, Hawkgirl, Hourman, Wonder Woman, and The Joker. Looming in the background is the massive Anti-Monitor.
While a Watchmen movie is still expected to be released later this year,...

Lex Luthor once said “If man won’t kill God, the Devil will do it!” in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Well, the sentence seems extremely true for David Corenswet and James Gunn as Superman’s suit for James Gunn’s upcoming Superman was revealed moments ago.

It's a bird. It's a plane. No, it's our first official look at actor David Corenswet suited up in James Gunn's "Superman" film!
In a surprise Monday reveal, the DC Universe head honcho took to social media to announce what countless fans have been anxiously waiting for. With all sorts of speculation surrounding the tone, style, and inspiration for the kickoff to DC's latest big-screen reboot, Gunn finally gave us our best look yet at what's to come in the very near future. In a new Instagram post, the filmmaker released an image taking place entirely in-camera (despite some funky-looking CGI in the background) of Corenswet's look in the famous tights, complete with the familiar S logo and cape (and trunks). Longtime fans will no doubt clock the New 52 influence on display, along with the actor's surprising similarities to Henry Cavill's general look in the Zack Snyder films.

Superman filmmaker James Gunn and star David Corenswet have posted on social media the new Man of Steel suit.
It’s a rather rugged costume, not as pristine as previous feature iterations, indicating the edgy take that Gunn is taking here with his movie. The film will be Warner Bros.’ fourth time revamping the DC superhero in longform (not counting big screen serials) following filmmakers Richard Donner (1978), Bryan Singer (2006) and Zack Snyder (2013).
Corenswet follows in the footsteps of such actors playing the son of Jor-El in feature films as Christopher Reeve (1978-87), Brandon Routh (2006) and Henry Cavill (2013-2022).
This is a unit shot, it’s not an overly produced CGI shot, and it’s indicative of what we’ll see in the film. Not everything is green screen, and that creates an environment that’s significantly better for the actors.

Look, up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane – no it’s David Corenswet in our first official look at the actor in full Superman regalia! DC just posted the pic to social media along with the tease, “get ready”, and its official July 11th, 2025 release date. As you can see from the above pic, Corenswet’s Man of Steel seems to be a bit battle-worn, with his costume looking like it went through a bit of a beating. Metropolis is visible behind him, as well as some chaos in the sky, prompting our hero to do something we’ve never really seen him do in a movie so far – suit up!
Indeed, the classic way for Superman to get ready is to spin around in a circle or dive into a phone booth. Here, Corenswet’s version of the character seems to be in a...

David Corenswet gets dressed as Superman one boot at a time in the first look at the actor in costume. Superman writer-director James Gunn revealed the image on social media Monday.
The unveiling of an actor in costume as Superman is a rare affair, akin to the first look at a new James Bond. Only three men have starred as the character in its nearly 50-year big screen career: Christopher Reeve (1978-87), Brandon Routh (2006) and Henry Cavill (2013-2022), not counting serials that played in movie theaters in the late 1940s and early ’50s.

The new Superman suit has officially debuted. As filming on James Gunn’s “Superman” (formerly “Superman: Legacy”) continues, the writer-director shared to his Threads account a first look at star David Corenswet in costume as the Man of Steel. The first thing fans might notice is the suit is quite dirty and weathered, which suggests Superman will be doing plenty of down and dirty fighting in the movie.
Gunn added on Threads that the first look photo “was taken on set by Jess Miglio and was entirely in-camera.”
Corenswet is getting the big break of a lifetime as the star of “Superman,” which marks his first time leading a major Hollywood tentpole film. The 30-year-old actor is best known for his supporting roles in two Ryan Murphy-created Netflix series, “The Politician” and “Hollywood.” His most notable film role prior to “Superman” was probably “Pearl,” the Ti West-directed horror movie starring Mia Goth.

Crisis On Infinite Earths - Part Three Teaser Features Kevin Conroy's Batman And Mark Hamill's Joker
When we first learned that Warner Bros. Animation was developing a three-part Crisis on Infinite Earths movie, the response from fans was largely positive.
While the Tomorrowverse has been a little hit-or-miss, it's also delivered a lot of very good movies. Needless to say, the prospect of mixing DC characters from that world with so many other animated franchises was undeniably exciting.
Unfortunately, Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part One and Part Two proved to be mostly underwhelming affairs, with the only noteworthy cameo being Terry McGinnis/Batman Beyond in the second instalment. As exciting as that may sound, he had no more than a couple of lines in the movie and failed to make much of an impact.
There may, however, be a chance the final instalment redeems itself.

We recently learned that the fourth and final season of Superman and Lois had officially wrapped filming, and star Elizabeth Tulloch has now taken to social media to bid a fond farewell to her take on Lois Lane.
"How lucky am I, to have been able to inhabit this woman’s bones, and brain, and heart, for the last 6 years, 4 of which were on #supermanandlois. Lois Lane has been an icon for as long as Superman has because of her fierceness, her work ethic, her determination, her playfulness, her commitment to finding the truth no matter the cost."
The actress went on to thank the show's cast and crew, and wish the best of luck to James Gunn as he prepares to bring the Man of Steel back to the big screen in the currently shooting Dcu reboot.

James Gunn is shutting down a fan conspiracy theory that he always planned to remove Henry Cavill from the Dceu.
Amid the shooting of the new Superman film and the second season of Peacemaker, Gunn finds time to answer fan inquiries on social media.
A fan shared a quote from Nathan Fillion about how he found out he was cast as Green Lantern in the new DC film, which will be released in 2025.
“We were actually at the premiere party after Suicide Squad and he [Gunn] was in a huge crowd of people,” Fillion said in an interview with Collider. “…He goes, ‘Hey, did Peter [Safran] tell you what we’ve got for you next?’ I said, ‘No, he hasn’t said.’ He looked around like someone was gonna be listening. We were in a throng of people, but he leaned over and said, ‘You’re gonna be Guy Gardner.'”

There’s no denying that the only major Superman villains to have gotten any limelight in the movies are Lex Luthor and General Zod. But given the opportunity, Superman helmer Zack Snyder would have introduced a different and more significant villain from the comics that would have changed the trajectory of his Man of Steel sequel.

Renowned filmmaker Zack Snyder noted spending countless hours percolating ideas for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016). Among all the important details surrounding the project, Snyder mentioned discussing the idea of introducing a great antagonist for his second comic-book movie that majorly focused on the villain.

David Corenswet is our new Man of Steel, but before landing the leading role in James Gunn’s upcoming Superman movie, he had auditioned for the role of Adam Warlock in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, at least, that was the rumour.
Responding to a fan on Threads, Gunn confirmed that Corenset did indeed audition for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but admitted that he doesn’t actually recall it. “I asked him about it and he said he did so I believe him, but I don’t remember it,” Gunn said. The fan also asked if Superman’s flying scenes in the new movie might be similar to Adam Warlock’s flying scenes from Guardians 3. “No, what we’re doing now for flying is much more complex than what was done for [Adam Warlock],” Gunn responded.

Bruce Timm is known for having very unique approaches to the characters he brings to life. On top of his innate understanding of comics, he also brings a sense of uniqueness to each of his projects, which has made him one of the best people in the DC Animated Universe. Unfortunately, not everyone can understand his approach very easily.
Bruce Timm’s All-Star Superman
Sometimes, the producer has to fight for his vision or explain it to the actors so that they can perfectly capture what he wants them to do. However, often, even language fails, and no amount of explanation can get the point across.

Last year, Gunn and Safran introduced new plans for the “Dcu,” a cinematic universe intended to replace and reboot the Dceu. The initial phase, dubbed ‘Gods & Monsters,’ encompasses animated projects and live-action shows set in Themyscira long before Wonder Woman’s era.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s famous aversion to starring in comic book movies made him a hero among cinephiles who resented the genre’s pop culture dominance in the 2010s. But while the Oscar winner never took on a Marvel or DC role, Zack Snyder said he was once willing to consider it.
In a new appearance on the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast, Snyder revealed that he met with DiCaprio about the role of Lex Luthor in “Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice” that ultimately went to Jesse Eisenberg. While DiCaprio ended up turning down the opportunity, Snyder was impressed by his thoughtfulness about the comic book source material.
“He had a lot of great ideas actually, just in the meeting,” Snyder said of DiCaprio. “I think in the end, he was like ‘Eh, I don’t know.’ But he was really smart about the material and really smart about the character.

The 2017 Dceu film Justice League introduced Joe Manganiello as the formidable DC villain Deathstroke, with potential plans for further exploration of the character in future installments. However, these plans were dashed with the reboot of the superhero universe. But, there remains a glimmer of hope that the new direction of the franchise may finally delve into Deathstroke’s story on the silver screen.
Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke in Justice League
Throughout the years, Deathstroke has made numerous appearances in TV shows and comic books. Despite their stature as some of the most powerful heroes in the MCU, Deathstroke emerged victorious in the battle.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s cemented status as one of Hollywood’s favorites hasn’t changed in a bit after decades of his flourishing career — and there are so many factors that may have contributed to the actor’s stunning success.
Be it the most challenging roles or long-standing collaborations with the best directors, but it’s probably his strict adherence to personal and professional principles that comes as the biggest insight from DiCaprio’s acting path.

Remember Jesse Eisenberg's performance as Lex Luthor in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice"? Sure you do. It's a big, over-the-top take on a classic villain, with Eisenberg deciding to go kind of crazy playing the evil billionaire. I don't think you can call it a good performance, but I guess it's pretty darn memorable. I mean, how can you forget such a bananas take on a memorable character? I think when Eisenberg was cast we all assumed he'd play the character like he played another evil billionaire: Mark Zuckerberg. But that's not what happened. Instead, Eisenberg played Lex like a giant toddler who occasionally blows people up. It was wild.

So, you say you want to see something different, offbeat, out-of-the-ordinarry on your next visit to the cinema. Well, this weekend brings a true test for adventurous filmgoers. A few days ago I posted a review of the slapstick farce Hundreds Of Beavers, which is basically a silent movie “homage” since there’s almost no spoken dialogue. Much the same can be said for this new film, though it has a full soundtrack with lots of ambient background audio. Oh, and the characters do communicate, though it’s mainly via hand gestures, body language, and various grunts, growls, and groans. That’s because the four main characters are those “urban legend” icons, Bigfeet (Bigfoots just doesn’t sound right). No humans, just this quartet, romping around the forest all day until the big Sasquatch Sunset.
It all begins though, with the sunrise over a vast wooded area, perhaps in the great Northwestern US.

According to Zack Snyder, one of the most significant Dceu storylines seems to have originated from none other than Oscar-winning star Leonardo DiCaprio. The 49-year-old actor was once considered for the role of Lex Luthor, Superman’s greatest enemy. In an exclusive interview with Josh Horowitz for the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the director disclosed that he had a meeting with the Titanic star to discuss the role in his 2016 superhero flick, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
However, Jesse Eisenberg ultimately won the role. Snyder also recalled that DiCaprio came up with the plan to pit Henry Cavill’s Superman against the Justice League. Sadly, the Dceu timeline came to an end in 2023 (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom), capping ten years of superhero films that started with Snyder’s Man of Steel (2013).

Leonardo DiCaprio As Lex Luthor? Zack Snyder Considered Him For ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’
Before asking Jesse Eisenberg to rock a bald head, Zack Snyder considered Leonardo DiCaprio for the role of Lex Luthor.
While chatting recently with Josh Horowitz on his Happy Sad Confused podcast, Snyder admitted that he discussed the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with the Oscar-winning star of Killers of the Flower Moon.
“I think, in the end, he was like, ‘eh, I don’t know.’ But he was really smart about the material and really smart about the character,” said Snyder, who added that DiCaprio “had a lot of great ideas, actually, just in the meeting … I think he was the one that mentioned to me this idea about Superman fighting the Justice League at some point.”
Snyder went on to say he also talked to Adam Driver about the role of the cunning billionaire.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s Lex Luthor could have looked very different.
Director Zack Snyder stopped by the Happy Sad Confused podcast to promote the upcoming second part of his Rebel Moon films for Netflix. Over the course of the conversation, host Josh Horowitz asked him if there was any truth to the fact that the studio wanted Tom Hanks or Adam Driver for the villain role.
“I think I did talk to Adam on the phone, yeah,” he said of the rumored castings. “Leonardo DiCaprio, I talked to him about it.”
While Snyder ultimately went with Jesse Eisenberg as Lex, starring opposite Henry Cavill’s Superman and Ben Affleck’s Batman, he revealed the Titanic star “had a lot of great ideas, actually, just in the meeting.

Zack Snyder’s Dceu garnered praise for its boldness, but it also faced criticism, particularly for casting choices and deviations from source material.
Regarding casting, Snyder’s interpretation of live-action adaptations introduced one of the least favored portrayals of Lex Luthor in history, played by Jesse Eisenberg. This isn’t a criticism of Eisenberg himself, but rather a reflection on how he may not have been the best fit for the role.
Luthor was frequently mentioned in ‘Man of Steel,’ but his initial on-screen appearance came in ‘Batman v Superman.’ Despite widespread disappointment with his portrayal, he made appearances in the post-credits scenes of ‘Justice League’ and Snyder’s Cut.
Years later, Snyder disclosed that he had extensive discussions with a notable actor about the Luthor role. He made this revelation during the Happy Sad Confused podcast while promoting his latest movie ‘Rebel Moon.’

Zack Snyder’s Dceu was praised for many things, first and foremost being bold, but it was also more often than not criticized. Both for the choices of actors and for the creative freedoms he took with the source material.
Speaking of casting decisions, Snyder’s take on the live-action adaptations gave us one of the worst Luthors in the history of portrayals – Jesse Eisenberg. Nothing against Eisenberg of course, he just wasn’t the right fit for that role.
Luthor was heavily referenced in ‘Man of Steel,’ but his first actual appearance was in ‘Batman v Superman’. Even though a lot of people were disappointed with his portrayal of the character, he appeared in the post-credits scenes of ‘Justice League’ and Snyder’s Cut.
Now years after everything has wrapped up, Snyder revealed that there was one notable actor who had extensive talks with him regarding the Luthor role.

Fans would be surprised to know that Titanic star Leonardo DiCaprio almost played Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, according to director Zack Snyder. The part eventually went to Jesse Eisenberg, but how bizarre it would be to see the Oscar winner play a comic book character?

Even though he has been quite avoidant of superhero films, DiCaprio previously admitted he is not closing his door to that opportunity. Still, he hasn’t found that project that would engage him to join the world of capes and superpowers.

Those who wish someone other than Jesse Eisenberg had played Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice could have seen their dream come true if Leonardo DiCaprio had accepted the role. Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Snyder said he spoke on the phone with Adam Driver about the villainous role and that he approached DiCaprio about playing the bald baddie, too.
When asked if DiCaprio showed any interest, Snyder said, “I think so.” Adding, “He had a lot of great ideas actually, just in the meeting. I think in the end, he was like ‘Eh, I don’t know.’ But he was really smart about the material and really smart about the character.”
