Avatar: The Last Airbender has become somewhat of a hot topic lately. After the wildly successful Nickelodeon TV show took the world by storm, there was a disastrous attempt to create a live-action movie in the past. But more recently, Netflix tried and was in fact successful in bringing Aang and the gang into the live-action world through their latest series.
Now, Paramount, along with Nickelodeon, are taking a stab at it to make a successful movie adaptation of the popular cartoon. The cast was recently announced, and the choice of Eric Nam to voice the adult version of the lead character isn’t sitting right with many people.

In a twist of fate that can only be described as ‘life imitated art,’ Michael Dante Dimartino and Bryan Konietzko’s Avatar: The Last Airbender nearly met its demise after Season 2. The makers of the show battled against all odds to keep their creation alive, just as Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
Fans of Nickelodeon’s beloved animated series have grown to love it since the show’s final episode aired more than ten years ago (2008). Somebody higher up at Disney must have taken a look at the success of Disney Junior’s Sofia the First and thought “We should try and replicate that, but this time target it toward an older audience.” More princess cartoons means more merchandise to buy at your local Disney store! While the motivation for wanting a new animated series is obvious, it’s a little out of the ordinary which series they recently greenlit. Star and the Forces of Evil (working title) came from the mind of young artist and writer Daron Nefcy. Usually big companies like Disney look for their next big series from more experienced writers.
Star and the Forces of Evil has a terrific concept, which explains why Disney would so readily grab at it from a youngster like Nefcy. It’s already got a voice-actor attached to play the lead of Princess Star Butterfly: The Middle’s Eden Sher.

Disney Xd, which is rebranding from Toon Disney in February, is partnering with daredevil "Kaptain" Robbie Knievel for a 2-D animated comedy series about a 12-year-old boy who wants to become the world's greatest daredevil.
"Kid Knievel," from Walt Disney Television Animation, marks the first animated show for Disney Xd, which is primarily targeted at boys ages 6-14 and their families. Knievel will serve as a stunt consultant on the series, which is in production for a fall 2009 premiere.
The series centers on a boy (voiced by Chris Edgerly) -- short in stature but big in heart -- who, inspired by Knievel, overcomes incredible obstacles in his quest to become the world's greatest and most extreme daredevil.
Matt Jones and Danny Cooksey also voice roles in the show, which was created by Sandro Corsaro. Chris Savino is the executive producer and director.
