Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire delivered an epic performance at the 2024 Stagecoach Festival. It was an iconic moment that fans are still talking about. Even Miranda Lambert had something to say about sharing the stage with the country legend. So, what did she say?
Miranda Lambert Has Been Keeping Herself Busy
It wasn’t all that long ago that Miranda Lambert officially wrapped her Velvet Rodeo residency in Las Vegas. No one would blame her for taking a break to enjoy her successful run. However, since the Velvet Rodeo wrapped, Lambert hasn’t slowed down one bit.
Lambert has scattered tour dates from now all the way up to September. In addition, she even teased her brand-new single, Wranglers, which has an official release date of May 3. There are a lot of new things to be excited about if you’re a Miranda Lambert fan, with plenty more on the way.

Stagecoach is known for its surprises and, on Friday night, Eric Church delivered one of the most unexpected sets in the California country music festival’s history. The question facing fans is, was it a good surprise or a bad one?
Church hadn’t headlined Stagecoach since 2016 and is currently in the midst of a 19-show residency at his Nashville bar Chief’s that finds him getting up-close and candid with fans and testing out new songs. When he appeared on the Mane Stage at 9:45 p.m. to the...

Nickelback and Hardy team up for an epic collaboration as part of the iconic CMT Crossroads series. So, what can listeners expect from this latest crossover?
CMT Crossroads Is A Legendary Series
As an artist, when you become successful in a particular style or genre, it can be tempting to take on the “if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it” mindset. After all, once you crack the code and find the winning formula, why mess with something that is working?
However, since first kicking off all the way back in January of 2002, CMT Crossroads brings together two famous artists or bands that might not normally cross paths. What comes of these epic pairings is renditions of songs that blend both styles to create something entirely new.
With over 22 seasons and more than 70 episodes to its credit, CMT Crossroads continues to be a hit with fans, and the show isn’t slowing down whatsoever.

There may be no more natural pairing for CMT Crossroads than Nickelback and Hardy. Both appeal to country and rock audiences, both worked with producer Joey Moi, and both have a song called “Rockstar.” On April 6, they’ll mash up their respective styles — and their “Rockstar” singles — for an episode of CMT’s crossover performance series.
Recorded in Nashville earlier in March, the episode features Hardy and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger trading verses on Nickelback’s “Save Me” and “Animals,” and Hardy hits “Truck Bed” and “Give Heaven Some Hell.

Mike Portnoy recently participated in a series of videos for instructional drumming platform Drumeo just weeks after rejoining Dream Theater.
The first clip saw him performing Dream Theater’s “Pull Me Under” for the first time in 13 years, while a second video featured an interview and longer playthough session.
A new video from the sessions subjects Portnoy to Drumeo’s recurring “For the First Time” segment, in which drummers hear a song for the first time — sans percussion — and are tasked with improvising a drum part.
The Drumeo studio engineers apparently had a hard time finding a song that Portnoy wasn’t already familiar with, citing his extensive touring portfolio and exposure to countless rock and metal acts over the years. Therefore, the song they landed on, via the recommendation of Portnoy’s drum tech Jose Baraquio, was kinda out of left field: Nickelback’s 2009 single “Burn It to the Ground.

Creed and Nickelback are two of the most polarizing rock bands to ever exist. While both acts have sold millions of albums, they’ve also been on the receiving end of much criticism and backlash over the years. Despite the haters, they can count one super-fan in R&b star Sza.
Variety just named Sza its “Hitmaker of the Year,” and in the accompanying interview, she was asked what music she’s been listening to that she really loves.
Sza responded, “The other day, you know what I pulled up? Creed, Nickelback, Train ‘Drops of Jupiter,’ just a whole bunch of that.” That apparently led the interviewer to do a facepalm and burst out laughing, leading Sza to react, “I know, I know! Wait, you know what’s crazy? Do white people hate Creed and Nickelback?”
The singer continued, “Black people love them! They rock! That shit is bomb! Why...

The 1975, a band whose members are no strangers to real-life carnage, recreated fictional scenes of horror from movies at their Halloween concert at a venue with the comically unscary name of the Little Caesars Arena (horror! horror!) in Detroit. Their “Halloween Party,” according to NME, included callbacks to American Psycho, The Ring, and The Blair Witch Project.
Some of the horrors began after the band performed “About You.” Huey Lewis and the News’ “Hip to Be Square” came over the Pa, and singer Matty Healy was seen dressing like Patrick Bateman,...

’Dumb Money’, ’Woman Of The Hour’, Nickelback, ’Stop Making Sense’ among highlights.
The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike ensured 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) was quieter than usual, although there was some awards season buzz, a handful of famous US actors turned up, and you-know-who forked out a lot of money in the only major deal of the festival so far.
Screen picks out the main talking points of this year’s event. TIFF runs through September 17.
Awards launchpad light on heavyweights
Venice and Telluride usually prevail in the annual scramble for world premiere bragging rights to the shiniest awards contenders and this year was no different.

Nickelback is on hand for the 2023 edition of the Toronto International Film Festival, where the Canadian rockers are the focus as the new documentary “Hate to Love: Nickelback” makes its TIFF debut.
Not only does the documentary recount the band’s rise to the top of the rock genre, “Hate to Love” also takes an unsparing look at the backlash that’s dogged the band for years.
“I’m over it… And now from this day forward, if anybody asks that question in the press, it’s like that’s the end of the interview.”
Interviewed by People during TIFF, Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger says the documentary will be the last word on the subject, and he has no plans to ever address it again.

Nickelback’s Chad and Mike Kroeger open up on how “great” it was to have their mom be a part of the band’s new musical documentary.
Ahead of the TIFF premiere of the doc, titled “Hate To Love: Nickelback”, Mike told Et Canada’s Morgan Hoffman how special it was to have their mom’s support in the film that profiles the band’s evolution from their humble beginnings in Alberta, to their explosive global success in the early 2000s and the quick wave of online negativity that followed.
“She’s always had our back… it’s your mom who jumps up and defends you or the other people that love you.”
“She insisted to be in the documentary,” Mike, 51, joked. “No. It’s great to have her, you know. That’s one of the ‘love Nickelback’ people, obviously. She’s always had our back and, like it is in most cases,...

While gearing up for the TIFF premiere of their documentary, “Hate to Love: Nickelback“, one of Canada’s most iconic bands chatted with Et Canada’s Morgan Hoffman about the unwavering support from another fellow Canadian icon.
“He is very expensive… There’s an NDA on his price and if we say how much, we’re in deep s**t.”
Acknowledging that the band has acquired a vast amount of hate and love over the years – documented in their movie – Hoffman asked the bandmates what they think of Ryan Reynold’s stamp of approval, who inducted the multi-platinum musicians into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at this year’s Juno Awards.

Justice for Nickelback?
“Hate to Love,” a documentary about one of the most ragged on bands of all time, had its world premiere on Friday afternoon at the Toronto Film Festival and (maybe?) shed new light on the Canadian rockers.
But given their reputation on some corners of the internet, Cameron Bailey, the CEO of TIFF, admits he questioned whether or not to program the film as part of this year’s lineup. “We talked about it and thought, ‘Are we still going to be cool and artsy if we invite this film?'” He says the ultimately decided to say, “Fuck it, hell yes.”
Leigh Brooks directed “Hate to Love,” a profile of the multi-platinum music group behind hits like “Rockstar” and “Photograph,” along the way charting their humble origins and evolution from mainstream success to arguably rock’s greatest punchline… and punching bag. The star power at TIFF will still be shining bright this year.
On Thursday, the Toronto International Film Festival is kicking off for its 48th year, and with it will come plenty of celebrities.
But with the Hollywood writers and actors guilds still on strike, things will be a little more subdued.
A number of productions featuring guild members have been granted waivers by their unions in order to promote their films at the festival, while many international productions uninvolved in the strikes are also being presented.

Royal Blood Responds After Flipping Off ‘Pathetic’ Festival Crowd: ‘I Felt I Was Being Entertaining’
Royal Blood was a last-minute addition to BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend music festival, and the rock duo made quite the impression on the crowd.
Royal Blood — consisting of Mike Kerr on vocals and bass, and Ben Thatcher on drums — were added as an 11th-hour replacement for the festival, which was dominated by such pop acts as Lewis Capaldi and Niall Horan.
Given that Royal Blood’s hard-driving rock is as far from pop as it gets, Kerr offered a cheeky intro when they took to the stage.
“I guess I should actually introduce ourselves seeing as no one actually knows who we are. We’re called Royal Blood and this is rock music,” Kerr told the crowd, receiving a tepid response.

Nickelback are one of the most successful rock acts of the 21st century, but for one reason or another they are also one of the most reviled bands in modern history. That said, things apparently are looking a bit cheerier for the Canadian rockers, as frontman Chad Kroeger thinks “there’s been a softening” in the hatred in recent years.
When asked about the hate the band has received over the years in a new Zoom conversation with Arizona radio station Kfma (as transcribed by Blabbermouth), Kroeger responded, “That kind of used to be a thing. I shouldn’t say ‘that kind of used to be’ — that was definitely a thing for a long time. And I think there’s been a softening — there really has, thankfully.

Lizzo has defied Tennesse’s controversial drag ban by welcoming drag performers onstage during her concert in Knoxville.
Several RuPaul’s Drag Race alums joined the Grammy winner’s show on Friday 21 April at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville. Addressing thousands of fans in the crowd, Lizzo noted that she received requests to cancel her shows in Tennessee following Gov BillLee’s ban on public drag performances.
But the “Grrrls” singer said she believed the Volunteer State needed to hear “her message” the most.
The drag ban, which has been temporarily blocked by a federal judge, forbids “adult cabaret entertainment” on public property or in locations where it could be viewed by a minor — defining the term as “topless dancers, go-go dancers, exotic dancers, strippers, male or female impersonators.”

Nickelback have faced their fair share of detractors over the years, but in 2019, pop star Lizzo came to the defense of the oft-derided alternative rock act. Four years later, the band is showing its appreciation for the support.
Lizzo’s remarks originate from CBC Music’s “Jam or Not Jam” video segment, in which she’s played various songs including Nickelback’s monster 2001 hit “How You Remind Me.”
“It has a beautiful climax,” she said as she nodded along to the post-grunge tune. “Why do people not like Nickelback? I feel like Nickelback gets way too much shit. I think this is a jam.”
She continued: “Because [lead singer Chad Kroeger] had a curly blond perm. That’s the only reason they get shit, because this is an amazing song.”

Lizzo is a Nickelback fan, and the feeling is mutual.
The singer previously praised the Canadian band’s music in a 2019 CBC Music interview, with the group just sharing the clip earlier this week.
In the “Jam or Not a Jam” segment, Lizzo listened to Nickelback’s 2001 hit “How You Remind Me”.
She then said, “Why do people not like Nickelback? I feel like Nickelback gets way too much s**t… I think this is a jam.”

Chris Tucker has revealed he once had a private jet turn around from LA back to New York so he could meet Michael Jackson.
“I was in New York for two days waiting to meet Mj,” Tucker recalled.
He told GQ: “I took a private jet there. I said, well, I ain’t heard from him, I got to go.
“I took a private jet back to LA and as soon as I landed, I had a message: ‘Michael Jackson wants to meet you tomorrow morning.’ I was still on the plane. I went up to the captain and said, ‘I’ll pay you whatever you want to take me back to New York.’”
The comedian also revealed that he and Jackson later became close friends, and the singer encouraged him to take on more work in Hollywood.
“He used to always say, ‘Let’s make history,’” Tucker said.

Nickelback have been the subject of many jokes over the years, but on Monday night (March 13th) the band got the last laugh when they were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the annual Juno Awards.
The honor came ahead of Nickelback’s recently announced 2023 North American tour, which kicks off June 12th in Quebec City and runs through an August 8th show in Belmont Park, New York, with tickets available here.
During the ceremony in Edmonton, actor Ryan Reynolds appeared via video to help induct the band, first quipping, “There are millions of reasons to be a proud Canadian, and tonight the Junos and Canada are coming together to celebrate one of them: homegrown talent from right here in Alberta, Joni Mitchell.”
The Deadpool star then looked off camera quizzically, and continued, “What? Nickelback? Oh, I love Nickelback. Wasn’t Joni Mitchell in Nickelback?”

Nickelback band members Chad Kroeger and Ryan Peake were forced to put on their wise man hat to play a little game of ‘Confess Sesh’ with People Now while promoting their national tour, which kicks off June 23 in Indiana.
Since the Canadian band’s start in 1995, the men of Nickelback have matured into major rockstars. However, when it comes to getting a glimpse of how famous they really are today, neither Kroeger nor Peake admitted to being the band mate who’s most likely to Google themselves.
“That’s a person questional,” Peake jokes, as both he and Kroeger claim it’s neither of them.

I'm writing this while watching the Us/Canada gold medal hockey game, as I'm sure many of you are. I don't watch hockey, it's almost completely uninteresting to me which is fairly unique for someone who has wasted many an afternoon these last two weeks developing passionate feelings about cross country skiing events, but there it is. However, I watched the first Us/Canada hockey game and even with my hockey aversion I was like "Damn, but that's a good hockey game" so now I'm watching hockey again. Also, this is the last time you'll have to hear me talking about the winter Olympics for about four years. And there was much rejoicing. Here's your Sunday night TV:
