There are a lot of ways and factors that are used to determine the success of something in the gaming industry. While one can argue looking at the popularity of the game should be enough, how things usually work is by looking at the amount of sales a particular title has sold.
Such is the case with the recent Dragon’s Dogma 2 title, which was able to overtake the record of the director’s past title, Devil May Cry 5, without any effort. While the comparison should not hold any real meaning behind itself, it shows how well the recent game is being received by the audience.

Capcom’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 was released last week after being announced roughly 2 years ago. The game’s director Hideaki Itsuno and the team started the development with a focus on making the game better than its predecessor, 2012’s Dragon’s Dogma. The first game’s open-world environment was indeed very impressive, but the team decided to take things to the next level.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
While this may seem like a good idea, at one point they felt overloaded as the open world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 grew bigger than they originally planned. Although the workload was increased, the game didn’t seem rushed at all as they made the entire map immersive to keep the players hooked. The team worked hard and crossed all the expectations to give fans an exciting gaming experience.

Developed by Capcom, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the sequel to the 2012 game Dragon’s Dogma. The game was directed by Hideaki Itsuno, and released on March 22, 2024, for Windows, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The sequel is set in a continuous open world that is based on a parallel universe to that of its predecessor, and it is four times larger than the map in that game.
Dragon’s Dogma 2
The sequel is set in the middle of a global conflict, and players take control of a customizable character and set out to hunt down the dragon that designated them as the “Arisen.” Players with the help of allies must complete tasks and get new equipment as they proceed in the game.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 comes with a major flaw
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of 2024, and some might even call it the best role-playing game of the year.

Dragon’s Dogma 2‘s character creation racked up a load of acclaim before the game even launched. The highly sophisticated creator allowed players to mold their Arisen into pretty much anyone, allowing for some pretty crazy recreations.
However, the character creation transcends aesthetics. While the central story remains unchanged, the pivotal decision between a human or Beastren Arisen subtly influences gameplay. DD2 creative director Hideaki Itsuno recently clarified how your character’s race shapes Npc interactions, quest progression, and your overall experience in the critically-acclaimed action-rpg.

Capcom’s recently launched title, Dragon’s Dogma 2, is gathering all kinds of controversy and acclaim. Some people are talking about its microtransactions, while others are talking about its challenging gameplay mechanics. But one thing remains as interesting as ever: this game’s incredibly well-designed gameplay mechanics. Fans who are playing Dragon’s Dogma 2 are finding it hard to put down.
And it makes sense too. Capcom might be a bit silly with its microtransactions, but it knows how to develop exciting games. An open-world game with excellent visuals thanks to that ever-popular Re engine, and finally, those mind-blowing action sequences. This game has it all, and its fans have a classic Capcom action game to thank for it.

Getting compared to Elden Ring is a big accolade for any game. Dragon’s Dogma 2, the controversial game, has now been hailed by Marcin Momot for having an effect like Elden Ring on him. The director of Cyberpunk 2077 took to X to wax lyrical about Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Released on 22nd March 2024, the game is already mired in controversy regarding the numerous bugs and framerate issues coupled with the sleuth of microtransactions. Capcom, the publisher and developer of the game, is known to keep tons of microtransactions in its titles as has been evidenced in the Far Cry and Resident Evil franchises.
Despite backlash from fans, Dragon’s Dogma 2 has gotten unexpected support in the form of the Director of Cyberpunk 2077.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, and players are in awe of Capcom’s latest. However, given the game’s technical advancements and content, Ziostorm is not satisfied with its performance, citing texture glitches, significant frame drops whenever he enters cities, and the tendency of pawns to end themselves by jumping over a cliff.
Capcom and the game director Hideaki Itsuno even mentioned how seamless their world has been by taking advantage of next-generation hardware but it is unwise to dismiss the possibility of performance issues. Ziostorm is a YouTuber that focuses on Elden Ring but the similarities of themes with Dragon’s Dogma 2 are enough to make the YouTuber try it for himself.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is now available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and on PC via Steam and fans are loving Capcom’s latest title as it features a dangerous world with mystical creatures and showcases what a true next-gen RPG experience can be. Director Hideaki Itsuno spared no expense in designing their world, its threats and their locals, and how everyone is vulnerable to enemy attacks which can result in massive battles.
The artificial intelligence that is featured in this game is unlike any other, which can surprise players who are used to the traditional Npc where they don’t react much to anything a player can do. Players can drag their fights as far and long as they want to, even in populated areas where NPCs will act more naturally like fighting back rather than standing still to meet their demise.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the sequel to the first title in 2012. Both of these titles were both developed and published by Capcom. The studio announced the title in 2022, and the game was released on March 22, 2024, after various trailers and showcases.
Initially, the game also gathered attention because of an overused and cliched narrative trick that its Director, Hideaki Itsuno, revealed and stated would help players jump in without prior knowledge. But now, a clip from the game has emerged, and various people applaud the developer studio for their attention to detail.

The highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming out today and has been well-received by critics. However, inconsistent frame rates on PC have been a unanimous complaint among the reviewers.
Capcom offered an official statement to Eurogamer, acknowledging the issue and explaining its probable cause. The statement read,
“In Dragon’s Dogma 2, a large amount of Cpu usage is allocated to each character and calculating the impact of their physical presence in various areas. In certain situations where numerous characters appear simultaneously, the Cpu usage can be very high and may affect the frame rate.”
The publisher is currently looking for ways to improve the game’s performance. However, some players are perhaps reading too much into Capcom’s statement. Some have figured out an extreme solution on their own, and it involves mass murdering NPCs.

Released in 2012 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the original Dragon’s Dogma was an action roleplaying game tailored to a very specific audience. Brutally difficult, the gameplay centered on open-world exploration with a survivalist touch, wherein players and their Npc (non-player character) companions must trek through a “persistent” world that — at the time — felt organic as shifting day-and-night cycles and changing weather conditions imbued its somewhat bland fantasy world with a sense of life. Heavy on customization options and a general “fend for yourself” attitude toward the player, it merged many...

Avatar: The Last Airbender is regarded as somewhat of a classic by anime fans. First broadcast in 2005, many kids would scramble to the Nickelodeon channel to catch the ongoing adventures of Aang, Katara and Sokka, as they battled the threat of the fire-nation. Running for only 3 seasons, this series was greatly loved by those who watched and this still holds today.
Since the series finished in 2008, we’ve had the utterly woeful M Night Shyamalan movie in 2010 and most recently the 2024 Netflix live-action series which has seen the fanbase divided on opinion. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is due to launch on March 22, and the Capcom title has promised to improve aspects of its predecessor. Directed by Hideaki Itsuno, the action RPG is looking to surpass its predecessor, which was released back in 2012. Players again adopt the role of the ‘Arisen‘ and must take on various quests, battling monsters to progress through the game.
The title will be launching on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows in a matter of days, and ahead of that release, there have been some interesting posts on the game’s Reddit page. The character creator, which was released early, has allowed players to experiment with their creations, and one player has created a fitting tribute to our favorite Terminator.

Fans who have gotten their hands on it have horrifically shared their creativity. Currently working away on the recently-announced Dragon’s Dogma 2, Itsuno chats it up with Toyama, talking about their days of creating games in the early PlayStation era. For example, Itsuno waxes nostalgia over Capcom and Konami being “leaders in the pixel style” at the time, while simultaneously talking about the PlayStation’s infamous limitations when it came to memory for certain Capcom fighting games.

That part. The section in a video game that you remember with brief intensity and repulsion when thinking of playing it again. The Ashley escort missions in Resident Evil 4. The Fade from Dragon Age. Any sewer level. We all have our own examples, and for some reason, I associate this phenomenon with character action games most of all. Even absolute classics like Bayonetta have a few that parts, like the missile shmup or driving sections. Somehow, some way, Devil May Cry 5 completely lacks any such moments. Perfect pacing, amazing character balance, and a story that went just far enough to string me along make it one of the most enjoyable action titles I’ve ever played.
Let’s back up: Devil May Cry 5 has some big shoes to fill. DmC: Devil May Cry is still a sore spot for series fans, and was a major departure tonally from other games in the series.

Devil May Cry 5 will let you play with friends and spend a little extra money.
Devil May Cry 5 will reportedly support online multiplayer for up to three people.
While Capcom has yet to reveal the feature, the game's PlayStation store listing notes that it supports multiplayer for up to two or three players. In lieu of any official details, fans are speculating that the game's three playable characters will likely be involved in some kind of side mode that will see them face off against a horde of enemies or some similar level of opposition. At the moment, few suspect that the game's multiplayer will be tied into the main storyline.
For what it's worth, Devil May Cry 5 director Hideaki Itsuno told Eurogamer that the team "designed this game specifically to make the best single-player experience we can" and that single-player has "always been the focus." However,...

Casually walking up to a group of enemies, as if they were kids he’s about to bully on the playground, Nero playfully counts the demons before readying his robotic arm for combat. With a few swift melee slices with his Red Queen sword and a couple shots with his Blue Rose double-barreled revolver, the enemies fall to the wayside.
It was a stunning visual that looked, and felt, absolutely amazing. Perfectly summing up how Dante, Nero, and demons of all types were returning to form in “Devil May Cry 5.” It’s been 10 years since the demon hunters took center stage in the last numbered game in the series and Capcom aims to make up for lost time when it hits in March 2019.

Capcom’s upcoming “Devil May Cry 5” is set to be a much different beast from the previous outing with Ninja Theory’s “DmC,” but according to producer Matt Walker, the team still has plenty of love for the previous game.
In an interview with VG247, Walker stressed that “Devil May Cry 5” is a “game for the fans,” noting that series diehards have been clamoring for a sequel to “Devil May Cry 4” over the past decade. “But this isn’t a slight at Ninja Theory or ‘DmC’ at all. We all love DmC,” he explained.
Game director Hideaki Itsuno has made it abundantly clear that he and the rest of the “DmC’ team worked with Ninja Theory to ensure it made a unique action game that was “just as important” as any of the rest of the games in the series. In fact, Itsuno has taken what he learned from “DmC...

What you need to know about Devil May Cry 5, including latest news, release date, trailers, and much more!
It looks like one of the biggest rumors that preceded E3 2018 is true. Capcom is developing Devil May Cry 5.
The biggest piece of news that Capcom shared regarding the next Devi May Cry game is that Hideaki Itsuno is returning to direct this long-awaited sequel. Itsuno has worked on the franchise ever since the final months of Devil May Cry 2's development (he even served as a supervising director for Ninja Theory's 2013 DmC title) and his presence here bodes well for Capcom's intentions to deliver the kind of classic Devil May Cry experience that fans have been adamantly (annoyingly at times) clamoring for.
We're still waiting on Capcom to reveal some of the finer details about Devil May Cry 5, but at present, it appears that this will be a...

A domain was privately registered May 18 for DevilMayCry5.com, and discovered Sunday by attentive fans on a “Devil May Cry” Discord.
Though a domain registration by itself wouldn’t normally mean much, as anyone can register one, the registration is through Gmo Internet, the same registrar used for other Capcom official sites for “Resident Evil 7” and “Monster Hunter: World”.
Speculation sparked that a new installment to the action-packed series was in the works after series’ director Hideaki Itsuno tweeted in December 2017, “I am sorry that I can not present a new project last year. The development of the project is now under climax. I am making a great game so please expect it.”
Though Itsuno has also directed other series for Capcom, including the “Dragon’s Dogma” series, the timing seems right for an update to the “Devil May Cry” franchise, as the last new installment made was a reboot...

Capcom's classic Street Fighter series is getting a special bundle for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Switch next year...
Readers of a certain age may remember when the world went crazy for Street Fighter II in the early 1990s. The arcade machines were seemingly ubiquitous. Some Super Nintendo owners were so keen to get their hands on the game, they were willing to pay extraordinary prices for a Japanese import.

In all the hoopla, most gamers barely stopped to what on earth happened to the original Street Fighter - Capcom's okay-ish brawler released in 1988 to relatively little fanfare. These days, Street Fighter 1, which in its early arcade incarnation came with big punchable rubber buttons, is best regarded as the dry-run for what would become an iconic series - one that celebrates its 30th anniversary next year.

Despite some fans taking umbrage with Ninja Theory’s Dmc reboot at the time of release, Capcom Director Hideaki Itsuno has allayed fears that the lukewarm reception and subsequently less-than-stellar sales have killed off the Devil May Cry series.
Itsuno was quizzed by GameSpot following the recent release of the Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition on current-gen consoles, thought the developer was quick to note that the future of the franchise wasn’t contingent on the success of the remastered port.
I think it’s a bit of a misunderstanding. Put this squarely in the "maybe" column, but Rival Schools creator and director of Capcom vs. Snk 2 director Hideaki Itsuno says he has plans which could potentially see both classic 2D fighters come to current gen consoles. In an interview with Anime News Network, Itsuno said of a possible digital release of Rival High Schools:
I happen to have certain plans to do things like that. I don't know if it'll come to fruition, but it's on my agenda for sure.
The story was more or less the same when it came to a downloadable release of Capcom vs. Snk 2, with Itsuno saying he had plans on that front as well.
With the recent wave of digital offerings for beloved (Darkstalkers Resurrection) or even obscure (Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure HD Ver.) fighting games, it wouldn't be a stretch to see Capcom vs. Snk 2 make its way onto Xbla and Psn (and the Wii U,...

Another day, another schedule for the 2012 San Diego Comic-Con. Next up is Day 3 - Saturday, July 14th - which is just about as chock-full of events for the horror crowd as Friday the 13th!
As always, our focus is the horror panels, but included are a few others that we think will be of interest as well. Remember that times and participants are subject to change so keep your eyes on the official Sdcc site for updates. And hopefully they'll provide a fix soon for the Sdcc smartphone app - in years past it's been extremely helpful.
