"Not Even Death" is a short film of six minutes from Gimme Credit Films. This short had a showing at The Oklahoma Horror Film Festival in September, with details (here). The film will also have a showing at Los Angeles' Screamfest later this month and "Not Even Death" involves more zombie romance. This time the relationship is between a regular mortal and a wife who has turned undead. The husband brings home the bacon, or in this case cow brains to his insatiable and very hungry and very dead wife. However, she who would rather eat something a little tastier and much bigger, regardless if she is related to her meal by blood or not.
This film was a delight to watch and the twist is dark and tragic, which is suitable to a horror short. A little more...

Living among zombies has become commonplace.
Under threat of infection, humans are required to gun down the undead - even killing a loved one. Then there's David. Jackie, the love of his life, is infected. Unable to annihilate her, he keeps her chained in the basement. Bringing her tasty brainy morsels, he has managed to keep her satiated. There is hope that a cure is near in Germany but will it come in time?

Ohff 2010 PosterThe Oklahoma Horror Film Festival is gearing up for a three day celebration beginning September 3rd, during the American Labour Day weekend. Several short and feature length films will be displayed including David Kabler's Wanderlost and Uwe Boll's Rampage to Matt Allen's Aces and Eights and Monica Winter Vigil's short film Not Even Death. Over fourteen features will be shown along with fourty-five shorts. The weekend long event will also highlight a comedic "Zombie Fashion walk" (Oklahoma) and the participation of independent film distribution companies e.g. R Squared Films and Vci Entertainment.
There will be a little something for everyone at the festival and horror fans can attend writing workshops or meet celebrities at the event in only a couple weeks. More info' on a selection of the films is available below, with ticket details at the official Oklahoma Horror Film Festival site. More details are inside.

The Atlanta Horror Film Festival begins August 13 and continues until the 15th. August is "Independent Film Month" (Tahff) and several feature length films will be at the showing including Fugue, Kiss the Abyss, Zombie Dearest, Cornered! and others. Along with these pictures are a series of shorts entitled "Something Smells Dead," which highlights the best from the available undead, horror shorts from 2010.
Included in this year's program are the following: Wes Young's Dead Exit, Monica Winter's undead marriage tale Not Even Dead, Jackson McDonald's An Acquired Taste, Brandon Hunt's survivalist themed short The Duty of Living. Victor Mathieu's Tombstone Brides, William Bridge's Dead Hungry and the stellar Zombie and Cigarettes from director Rafael Martinez. Do not miss the best from the undead beginning August 13th. Pablo Proenza and Erin Ploss-Campoamor of Cut Glass Productions have sold their film Dark Mirror, a feature length supernatural thriller, to IFC Films, which has scheduled a May 6th date for its release on "Movies on Demand" as part of "IFC in Theaters" service. The film stars Lisa Vidal, David Chisum, Christine Lakin and Lupe Ontiveros. Variety said of the film: "tour-de-force performance," "excellent!," "a spin on the genre."

I wanted to take a moment and Thank everyone who came out last night and helped make "The HORRORphiles #2 - Scaring up a Revolución" such a Bloody enormous success!! We had a packed house and once again we had an incredible vibe going that's hard to describe. The closest would be: Solidarity. And I'm hoping there's more to read into the kinship than just extremely spiked Bloody Mary mix :)
I also want to thank you all for coming out and putting $6 on the barrelhead during this wacked out economy to support the Anthology Film Archives and the filmmakers whose films we showcased. Please know that those hard-earned $ go a long way in keeping the Anthology up-and-running. It is the Only venue of its kind left in New York and is entirely administered by filmmakers, for filmmakers. I'm honored to have been associated with the screening space for the last 7-years,...
