ReviewThe Warrior is a bilingual film made in Tamil and Telugu. In case you forget this fact, the poor lip-sync of the actors, particularly actor Nadhiya mouthing dialogues in Tamil, keeps reminding you about it.Balakrishna GaneshanActor Ram Pothineni kept reiterating how excited he was after listening to the script of The Warrior in multiple interviews while promoting the film. The actor said that he could not contain his excitement and tweeted about it immediately after the script was narrated to him. But after watching the film on screen, it feels like either Director N Lingusamy did not execute the script well, or the actor needs to refine his choice of films. The Warrior stars Ram Pothineni (playing the role of Sathya) and Krithi Shetty (Mahalakshmi) in the lead roles while actor Aadhi Pinisetty (Guru) plays the antagonist. It is a bi-lingual film made in both Tamil and Telugu. In case you forget this fact,...

When talking about the great cinematographers of India, one name that has to be at the top is Santosh Sivan. He has won over 13 National Awards, was recently honored with a Padma Shri and also is the first Indian cinematographer to be inducted into the American Society of Cinematographers. Not only does he focus the lens and set the frame in both Indian and English films, he also has sat in the director’s chair to create his own magic. His credits include Dil Se, Asoka, The Terrorist, Before the Rains, Thalapathi, Raavan, Iruvar, Roja, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, and more.
As part of the London Indian Film Festival on July 11th, Mr. Sivan will be giving a special master class. I was lucky enough to chat with Mr. Sivan about his career, and it was a fascinating conversation covering many different and interesting topics. Enjoy!

Tamil film superstar Suriya is back for the first time since the disastrous Singam 2 with a new film directed by N. Lingusamy titled Anjaan. Normally, this information on its own would be enough to get my excited. Suriya is a major talent in search of the right role, which he has managed to avoid landing over the last five years. There's no guarantee that Anjaan (which translates to Fearless in English) will be the performance that gives him the credit he is due, but there are a couple of helpful circumstances that stand to give him a better chance than usual.Anjaan's director, Lingusamy, has at least two decent pictures under his belt, 2010's Paiyaa, and 2011's Vettai. Now, Suriya has worked with high profile...

Chennai, March 3: Director-turned-producer N. Linguswamy says he won't demand compensation from Mani Ratnam for distributing Tamil romantic-drama "Kadal", which flopped at the box office.
He distributed "Kadal" in three areas in Tamil Nadu - Kovai, Madurai and Chennai. Released on Feb 1, the Rs.50 crore film bombed at the box-office. Following its bad run, a few distributors met Ratnam seeking compensation for the losses incurred.
"Unlike other distributors, I won't go knocking on Mani Ratnam's door demanding compensation for the loss of 'Kadal'. In film business, profit and loss is part of the game and one needs to learn to live with.

It's final. Ali Zafar will play Shahid Kapoor's Bade Bhai in the much talked-about Hindi remake of last year's Tamil blockbuster Vettai Madhavan who played the Bade Bhai's part in the original is out of the Hindi remake of Vettai. We can't wait. Shahid Kapoor has been finalized to play the younger brother. We're going ahead with Ali Zafar for the other hero's role." Interestingly there was a 10-year age-gap between screen brothers Madhavan and Arya in Vettai. Ali Zafar who will play Shahid's elder brother in the remake is hardly a year older than Shahid. When we made inquiries about how this skimpy age-difference would be covered in the remake a source close to the project informed,...

Now it can be told! Like some of his senior colleagues, Shahid Kapoor has consented to do a remake of a South Indian film. Utv's Tamil film Vettai, starring Arya and R. Madhavan, will now be remade in Hindi, with Shahid essaying Arya's part in the remake. N. Linguswamy, the director of Vettai, will direct the Hindi version as well. Reportedly, a screening of the film was held for Shahid a few days ago and the actor agreed to be a part of the remake instantly. So much so that he has even allotted dates to the producers of the film [filming begins from mid-April onwards]. "In fact, Shahid has decided to push other assignments ahead to accommodate the remake," a trustworthy source informs me. Meanwhile, Utv is in the process of finalizing the second lead [R.
