The Price Is Right host Drew Carey revealed he feels a sense of closure following the conviction of the murderer of his ex-fiancée, Amie Harwick.
Gareth Pursehouse, Harwick’s ex-boyfriend, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for Harwick’s murder in 2020.
“Ever since the final sentencing, it feels like we’ve all let out a breath and are able to finally move on,” he told People. “The whole process is over now, and there’s nothing else to be done and nothing else to worry about… Just speaking just for myself, it’s been quite a load off.”
Harwick, a Hollywood marriage and family therapist, had previously filed two restraining orders against Pursehouse before her murder.
Pursehouse attacked Harwick inside of her Hollywood Hills home, throwing her off of the balcony and resulting in blunt-force trauma to the head.

In a heart-wrenching revelation, Amie Harwick’s roommate, Michael Herman, breaks his silence about the fateful night he desperately tried to save her life. In a compelling episode titled “Justice for Amie Harwick,” correspondent Erin Moriarty dives deep into the case, airing on 48 Hours, Saturday, Feb. 10, at 10:00 Pm Et/Pt on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+.
Amidst the shadows of a chilling Valentine’s Day, Herman recounts the harrowing moments that unfolded in the early hours of February 15, 2020. “I remember thinking like this is so much worse than any horror movie I’ve ever seen,” he recalls, haunted by the echoes of screams and desperation.
As Herman grapples with survivor’s guilt, Moriarty speaks with Harwick’s parents, Penny and Tom Harwick, who express profound gratitude for his actions. “He did the exact right thing,” Penny reflects, while Tom acknowledges, “He made all the right decisions.

A Los Angeles jury has found Gareth Pursehouse guilty of first-degree murder and burglary in the death of his ex-girlfriend, Dr. Amie Harwick.
