Donald Trump reposted an article saying Melania Trump’s White House Christmas decorations were better than the ones installed by the current first lady Jill Biden.
The former president took to the social media platform he started, Truth Social, to share an opinion piece from The Western Journal with the headline “Flashback to When Things Were Better: Melania Trump’s Wh Christmas Decorations Throughout the Years.” The author of the column, Mike Landry, says the past two years’ decorations “cannot compare” to those during the Trump administration.
In Memoriam 2022: 100 Great Celebrities Who Died This Year!
“I know beauty when I see it and Melania Trump added glamor and impeccable taste in presenting the people’s White House for the holiday seasons while she was there,” Landry wrote.
The former first lady was criticized for her “dystopian” Christmas decorations in 2018 that many suggested looked like “blood trees” lining the halls.

Documentaries rarely turn out as originally conceived. They evolve once the cameras roll — unexpected characters may emerge or new facts come to light. It’s in the nature of an unscripted artform.
But in the case of the new film Accepted, that documentary truism reached an extreme. Director Dan Chen and producers Jason Y. Lee and Jesse Einstein thought they were embarking on a film with a predictable narrative when things suddenly and dramatically changed.
“The proverbial shit hit the fan,” says Lee.
The initial concept behind Accepted was to explore Tm Landry, a school in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana with a remarkable track record getting its students — mostly minority kids — into Ivy League or other prestige universities. The private K-12 school gained fame for viral videos that showed an anxious student in front of a laptop, surrounded by classmates, awaiting word on whether they had been accepted at Harvard, Yale,...

Bloodthirsty has been a pretty enjoyable read up to now. Nicely plotted storylines, decent character development, a slightly surreal blend of action and horror all topped off with a side helping of social conscience and political comment. Seriously, what more could you ask for from a funny book? I have especially enjoyed the text pieces that follow the story, all factual and all written about Hurricane Katrina and New Orleans and all by people with a direct connection and link to those events. It gives the fictional events of the story a real world context, a nice and somewhat unique touch.
Although there have been a few little detours along the way, the story arc has essentially shown us the transformation of Virgil from victim to hero, from bystander to do-gooder. It took a tragic event,...

Four issues in and Bloodthirsty has been a great book so far, mixing up a big mish-mash of action, conspiracy, boo hiss bad guys, morally conflicted good guys, and a backdrop that can be both seedy and beautiful. Any one of those elements on their own is interesting, but throwing them all together into a book and making them not only work, but work really well, takes a lot of skill. You would never know Mark Landry is a novice comic book writer as he handles plot, pacing, and character so well. He also has a nice line in cliffhangers, each issue leaving us really wanting to pick up the next to see what is coming.
Last issue saw Virgil further develop into a heroic persona, fuelled by the grief of his brother’s death...

So far Bloodthirsty has been a very promising start to an intriguing, and very different series. A dash of exotic New Orleans, a dash of politics and social commentary, and a big pinch of larger than life characters and situations. It’s been an enjoyable ride so far, and I started reading through issue 3 hoping that writer Mark Landry and artist Ashley Witter could not only maintain that quality, but even raise it a notch. I was also looking for the thematic touches to continue, and was pleased to see they did; this issue, corruption of the soul and the evolution of a hero were the most obvious themes, ones that co-exist nicely.
Last issue had taken us closer to Virgil discovering that some sort of conspiracy had taken hold of New Orleans, and got...

The first issue of this new series showed a lot of promise, even though to my mind it threw too much at the reader in too short a space of time. We got plenty of back story, character motivation, and development of the ongoing plot but some of that was lost amongst the sheer amount of detail thrown at us. The balance in those first issue’s is indeed a tricky thing, and Bloodthirsty came up a little short for me. On the plus side, I knew enough to want to come back and see how things developed from here, so clearly Mark Landry and Ashley Witter are doing something right.
If the theme of the first issue was loss (the loss of New Orleans innocence, the loss of parents, friends, and finally Virgil’s...

Mark Landry’s introduction to his 5 issue mini-series Bloodthirsty gives us both the background to himself, a writer of cable movies amongst other skills, and to the subject matter of this book. Central to the book, and to the books main character, are the events of Hurricane Katrina back in 2005, and the utter devastation it inflicted on both the city and the people of New Orleans. Landry himself is from Louisiana, and as he explains the guilt of not going back to help during those dark days gave him the beginnings of the story for Bloodthirsty.
The prologue for Bloodthirsty starts during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and we follow rescue worker Virgil, hard at work saving people from the flooding. His brother Trey tells him he can’t get hold of their parents and...

Equally atmospheric in strikingly different ways, the living dead and prom make for an awesome, creepy combination (see Gregg Bishop's Dance of the Dead), and they could come together once again via the in-the-works Zombie Prom feature film.
Variety reports that a feature film adaptation of the Zombie Prom musical is in development. The movie and TV rights to the horror comedy play that made its debut in 1993 have been picked up by Michael J. Roth and Steve Longi.
Vince Marcello, who wrote and directed the 2006 short film adaptation of Zombie Prom, will direct the full-length feature from a screenplay he'll write with creative collaborator Mark Landry (the duo co-penned Disney's Teen Beach Movie).
Similar to Creepshow, Zombie Prom was inspired by EC Comics from the 1950s. For those unfamiliar with the off-Broadway play and its short film adaptation (which co-starred RuPaul as Miss Strict), here's the short's official synopsis (via zombiepromthemovie.

It’s a been a few years since the High School Musical franchise finally came to an end, which means it’s high time Disney found a new musical movie to turn into a hot commodity. We’ve already seen high school turned into a musical, so what could we do next? How about a callback to all the classic beach-party movies of old? Nothing says “appropriate for all ages” like teenagers singing and dancing at the hot, sunny beach in nothing but their bathing suits. That’s a lot of sex appeal Disney will have to curb. Amazingly, they might have done the trick without much effort.
Disney Channel will air Teen Beach Movie at 8 p.m. Friday, July 19 with the trailer debuting Friday at midnight on Disney.com and 9 p.m. on the Disney Channel. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the telefilm will star Ross Lynch and Maia Mitchell as Brady and McKenzie,...
