BBC One Daytime will follow what happens to possessions after they have been stolen in new show Thief Trackers.
The ten-part series focuses on what happens to items like bicycles, handbags and laptops when they've been snatched, and also warns viewers about the risk of buying stolen goods online.
The programme is expected to mix specially-filmed surveillance, interviews with police and surveillance teams, and chats with members of the public who have been victims of theft.
Thief Trackers' executive producer Matt Crook said: "Along with the everyday items, we'll also be looking at some fascinating bigger scale thefts.
"For instance there is a major trend in cars being stolen to order, ready to be smuggled across the world or broken up for spare parts. There's also a huge demand for our agricultural equipment on the continent - and we'll meet officers who've stopped it being exported illegally."
