Coached the Montreal Canadiens to 8 Stanley Cup championships: 1956-1960, 1965-1966, 1968.
Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame, 1966.
Left winger with the National Hockey League's Montreal Maroons (1934-1935) and Montreal Canadiens (1935-1936 thru 1947-1948).
Head coach of the Montreal Canadiens, 1955-1956 thru 1967-1968.
He was awarded the C.M. (Member of the Order of Canada) on June 21, 1982 for his services to Hockey in Canada.
