Los Angeles – I felt pretty lucky to catch Aziz Ansari Saturday night as he performed a new, “in-progress” set at the intimate Largo, which only holds 280 people and has a strict no cell phones policy. Ansari is most famously known as Tom Haverford on NBC’s hit comedy “Parks Recreation,” and he boasts a whopping 1.6 million followers on Twitter (yet, I recall the old days when he only had 25k).
The special guest for the night was Ansari’s real-life chum Nick Kroll, who co-stars on FX’s “The League” and voices the character “Stu” on one of TV’s most underappreciated gems, “The Life & Times of Tim” from HBO. Kroll bragged about “being down with hip-hop,” saying he even owned a copy of Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV, which he probably got from Ansari (a huge rap enthusiast in real life).

Cnnlos Angeles, California (X17online) - Fitness legend Jack Lalanne has died at the age of 96 due to complications with pneumonia. Lalanne's longtime agent, Rick Hersh, confirms that the exercise guru passed away at his Morro Bay home. Elaine Lalanne released the following statement: "I have not only lost my husband and a great American icon, but the best friend and most loving partner anyone could ever hope for." The couple had been married for 51 years. In addition to being the founder of a chain of fitness studios, Lalanne made millions after releasing Jack Lalanne's Power Juicer.

Jack Lalanne, the fitness expert who inspired generations of Americans to exercise, passed away Jan. 23 in his California home, at the robust age of 96.
The AP reports that Lalanne succumbed to respiratory failure from pneumonia at his Morro Bay home on the California coast. His agent, Rick Hersh, tells the outlet he exercised and ate healthy every day, up until the end.
His wife of 51 years, Elaine Lalanne, also issued a written statement on his passing. "I have not only lost my husband and a great American icon," she says, "but the best friend and most loving partner anyone could ever hope for."
Frequently dubbed "the godfather of fitness," Lalanne urged audiences through television, motivational speaking and his health clubs long before working out became a national obsession.
He is survived by Elaine, his two sons (Dan and Jon) and a daughter, Yvonne.
