Commissioner of the National Hockey League since February 1, 1993.
Led the NHL during lockouts which canceled parts of three seasons.
Inducted into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2016.
First brought to the NHL to the Olympics in 1998.
Attended PS 174, Russell Sage Junior High School and Forest Hills High School, all located in Forest Hills, New York, USA.
Attended Cornell University followed by NYU Law School where he graduated in 1977.
Began working for the NBA in 1981, eventually becoming the NBA's General Counsel. He left in 1993 to become the first NHL Commissioner.
Inducted into the Hockey Hall Of Fame in 2018.
Half-brother Jeffrey Pollack was commissioner of the World Series Of Poker as well as president of the XFL football league.
