The lack of Latino showrunners in Hollywood is being addressed by the Alliance of Latinx Executives and Rise Up who are partnering on an advocacy program that will pair 10 high-level executives with 10 high-level writers from the community to increase showrunner opportunities.
Of the 500+ shows in production during the 2021-22 television season, and the approximately 6K writers employed by those shows, less than 20 Latinx writers held the position of showrunner. It’s the second-most challenging roadblock for Latinx writers after breaking out of the entry-level staff writer position, according to the orgs.
The inaugural group of executives includes Joey Chavez (HBO Max), Tom Lerner (A+E Studios), Adam Martinez (CBS Studios), Alejandro Melendez (BBC Studios), Michelle Mendelovitz (Mattel Television Studios), Edy Mendoza (Netflix), Diana Mogollon (Independent) and Nina Tassler (Independent).

Hey, "NCIS: New Orleans" fans. It's that time of the year again. We've got some terrible news for you in this article. It's one of those nights where ,for some reason, CBS has elected not to air a new episode of your favorite show. So, the new episode 6 will not air tonight, October 29, 2019. Instead, you will want to look for it to air next Tuesday night, November 5, 2019 at approximately 9 pm central standard time on CBS of course. So, be sure to mark down that very important date on your TV show calendars. What is CBS airing tonight instead of NCIS: New Orleans? According to the TV Guide listings,CBS is actually airing NCIS: New Orleans tonight, but it will be a rerun. The rerun that they are airing is the 14th episode of last season 5. Hey, "NCIS: New Orleans" fans. We hope you guys thoroughly enjoyed episode 22 tonight. Now that it has officially aired and is in the history books, it's time to direct our focus to what's coming up in the next, new episode 23. CBS was kind enough to serve up a press release for episode 23. So, we'll certainly be referencing it for this article. To get things started, it has been revealed by the episode 23 press release that episode 23 was named,"The River Styx, Part 1." Ooh, it sounds kinda spooky. From what we can tell, episode 23 sounds like it could feature some very intriguing and possible action-filled scenes. It turns out that we're going to see Pride and Lasalle pack up their bags for a very long trip. They will be traveling to South Ossetia, which is a war-torn area located in Russia. They will go there in hopes of tracking down FBI Special Agent Raymond Isler.

The term “deconstruction” tends to be one that confuses a lot of people and with good reason. If you look at the word itself, you might think, as most people do, that it means to pull something apart piece by piece—to analyse it, really.
When theorists use the term, however, they are talking about something else. When they throw it out there, they aren’t really talking about what the reader or viewer is doing when they look at a text, but what the text does to itself. Castle season 8 episode 15, “Fidelis Ad Mortem” is the episode that viewers have been waiting for because it feels more like the show we watched for the prior seven seasons. Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) – the former NYPD detective, who is now an NYPD Captain – finally doesn’t seem like she’s been replaced by a frog-eating clone. Writer Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) isn’t running around playing private investigator and acting like he was still in college. The case in it is phenomenal. Writer Chad Creasey did an excellent job in putting Humpty Dumpty back together again. I haven’t enjoyed a Castle

Castle finally delivers a satisfying, surprising Christmas and mafia-themed episode. Here's Laura's review of Bad Santa...
This review contains spoilers.
7.10 Bad Santa
What a relief!
This season of Castle has not been one of their best. From ridiculous plots (involving inter-dimensional travel) to non-existent ones (where any useful evidence is withheld until seconds before the killer is revealed) to the explanation that is nothing of the kind (Rick ran away from last season’s wedding to do what exactly?), it’s been pretty disappointing. So honesty, I wasn’t expecting much this last week. And that’s especially sad considering the episode, Bad Santa, includes two actors I generally love: Vincent Spano and Paul Ben-Victor. But their appearances did have me expecting a mafia-related episode, and I think that was probably the only thing I guessed right. I was certainly wrong about the level of quality I expected.

Neil Patrick Harris, guy you probably remember from titles like How I Met Your Mother and Glee will direct the indie romantic comedy Aaron and Sarah, and yes, this will mark his directorial debut!
Hm, this could be something good, especially now, when we know that the title roles have been given to Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson!
Movie will follow “…a geeky guy and a popular girl who become friends as freshmen in high school and see their relationship deepen through the four years, four proms and one funeral before graduation.”
That’s not something that sounds fresh, but, if it means anything to you, the whole thing is written by Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey, the team behind TV’s Pushing Daisies.
Just for a record, the film was originally titled B.F.F. and previously had David O. Russell attached to direct and Joe Nussbaum set to helm before him.

How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris is planning on making his directorial debut with a film called Aaron and Sarah, which will star Emma Roberts (Scream 4) and Josh Hutcherson (Almost Spider-Man).
The story follows a geeky guy and a popular girl who become friends as freshmen in high school and see their relationship deepen through the four years, four proms and one funeral before graduation.
David O' Russell was actually attached to direct this film before he jumped on the video game film adaptation of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. But, before Russell was involved there was Sydney White helmer Joe Nussbaum who was developing the film. The this film has been through several different hands of directors and studios.
The film was previously called B.F.F. and was written by Pushing Daisies scribes Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey.

You know, I could probably count the number of Hollywood romantic comedies that have been covered at Twitch on one hand. That's because I mostly hate them. But this one if being directed by Neil Patrick Harris. And he's got a sword. Which is awesome.
Yes, Doogie Hauser himself - the man who increasingly seems able to do everything and do it all remarkably well - is set to make his feature directing debut with Aaron And Sarah, an indie romcom to star Emma Roberts and Josh Hutcherson. The story is set to follow the young pair throughout their four years of high school as their friendship grows and changes, which is a pretty interesting approach to the material, with a script by Chad Gomez Creasey and Dara Resnik Creasey, who also wrote for TV's Pushing Daisies, which was a pretty great show. To my knowledge there will not be any swords in the film.
